I felt my breath inch in my throat at the word that escapes my lips, "Mate……!

My eyes widened as the word slipped out from my lips, all I could do was stare.

As if it was monsoon season, it started to drizzle outside. The sound of the rain pelting on the trees could be heard vaguely.

Watching the sound of his movement approach me as he stepped out from the shadow.

His long curly hair is damp due to the rain and a tiny droplet of water kept dripping down his face giving it an enticing sight.

He probably noticed my gaze, he glanced at me with his eyes twinkling in excitement.

Scrunching my face and narrowing my lips in disgust, I notice the smile at the corner of his lips instantly wiped off.

This is damn crazy!

Not again though my heart feels happy but I know that this is really messed up.

I might have been craving and yearning for this but right now I knew better.

I can't get mated to the two brothers……. No freaking way!

Has the moon goddess not gotten enough drama from me? Why pa

Alpha Khalid's pov: I stomped back and forth across the floor of my office, waiting for my cloak-and-dagger man, my secret spy to arrive.I can feel the rage rising with each step that I took, the rage rushing out like lava.No matter what I do the anger was still there, how did I become so reluctant when that idiot had my secrets in her palms? How can I allow him to keep roaming around when he held my downfall at the tip of his fingers? With a wrinkled face and a twitched jaw, I clenched the glass of whiskey in my hand, piecing it into shreds."Fuck!" I groaned in annoyance, why is it taking him too long to finish that girl? That jerk of a guy had never flunked me before, he was one of my best!Did he still have an idea that I can end him within a twinkle of an eye? Slamming my hand against my brown desk, I heaved in a deep breath and tried to calm myself down a bit. "Jade is dancing to a dangerous tone," I groaned, massaging my temple. Drooping my head low, I inhaled sharply,

Amelia's pov: I staggered back when stammering in disbelief. This can't be……!So the newly fresh breath was no other but Allen. The odd pull was the mate bond!So all the while it was him……! What another disaster do you find yourself in, Amelia? I kept shaking my head at him, tears threatening to slip out from my eyes. I feel like hugging him but this is all messed up.I kept puling, silent puff sounds kept escaping my throat. Holding my lips, I pule but not that loudly. Shaking my head sideways I restrained him from taking a step forward."Stop it, Amelia," his ear-splitting voice sent chills down my spine, but clenching my already torn clothes, I shook my head at him in disapproval."Why the sudden change of mind…… we have always wanted this, I have long waited for a day like this," his voice sounds terrifying but staring at his eyes held a lot of emotions that had me doubting his voice."Allen, you are a good person but I can't! I just can't…….!" Pulling my black flowy hair, I

Allen's pov:"Amelia!!" I screamed but she didn't turn back. I watched as her figure vanished into the shadow of the cloudy night. I staggered and leaned back at the tree with my head lowered in anger. She easily walked away as if nothing happened, this is the second time that she has sauntered away from my heart without caring about how I felt.I knew immediately when she turned eighteen that we were mates but she didn't feel anything due to the pain that the bond which she shared with Albin brought her.I gradually slid down the tree with my head in between my two palms. With an indistinct look, my cold eyes gazed into the night.I stared into the darkness as I could feel the rage rising with each minute. The rage that she deems my brother her mate and calls us messed up.The fact that she was careless about my feelings! No matter what I did, the rage was still there……. Counting to ten or taking a sharp breath, still, nothing seemed to happen. The rage was still there, I refused t

Alpha Khalid's pov: Standing up from my chair, I stride toward Albin's room. Stopping at his room, I raised my hand and gave a gentle knock at the door. "Enter," he said promptly. Pushing his door, I walked him. He was just sitting beside his window with a glass of wine looking depleted. Despite ordering the person to enter inside, he didn't even try to know who might have come into his chamber. My nose scrunched in disgust as the smell of alcohol lingered around his room, glancing around with my eyes narrowing in annoyance. I noticed the empty jars of alcoholic drinks on the floor. His room looks tattered, everything was not arranged. The bedspread is almost under his mattress, and none of his five pillows were on his bed. Used tissue papers were seen tossed around his room, and used pliable plates and broken ones were around everywhere. Pieces of bottles broken into shreds were at every corner of his room with a liquid stain on the wall; looks like a jar of drink was smashed

"Quicken your steps!!"I inhaled sharply and scrambled toward the house.Approaching the house, I held a nearby tree there for support.I tried to inhale and exhale, struggling to catch my breath. And just then I started hearing footsteps, it was as if they were running or could I say brawling.I didn't notice that I was almost close to the old house till I lifted my head. My eyes widened as my jaw dropped at the scene in front of me.I watched in awe as Amelia's hand reached up and grabbed one of the intruders by the collar.I attempted to make a move but remembering her word that she doesn't ever want to see me glue me to my spot. Holding me back from stepping forward. Intruders…… wait!" I knew these people, this is my father's warriors, and wait is this, not Jefferson, my father's best spy?Why are they here? What is going on, did my father send them? The guy that stabbed him trudged back with fear and panic whirling across his face.My love-shaped eye stared deeply into his black almond eyes. My heart softened as our gaze locked, everything seemed better not until his face scrunched in pain.Slipping out from my hold, I growled vigorously. I screamed with my vein ceaselessly popping out.I watched him fall to the ground unconscious, something must be in that blade that he got stabbed with for him to have easily been affected. "Ahhh!!!" I sat beside Allen trying to keep him warm, Jade and Jerome sure sustained a lot of injuries. Staying here is no longer safe, especially now that we are in our wolf forms with no clothes to wear. Looking at the lifeless creatures on the ground, an idea popped into my head.We can change into their clothes since we are left with no choice.Turning Allen a bit, I run my tongue around his wounds. Trying to control his bleeding, which was still more, was coming out.He is losing a lot of blood, I need to attend to him quickly but definitely not in my wolf form. I sighed and distanced myself from him a bit.Standing on my paws, I gently walked over to one of the men and pulled off his clothes, and rushed deep inside the woods with his clothes on my mouth, ignoring the stare that I was getting from Jade and Jerome.Emerging out from the woods, I transformed back to my human form when fully dressed."Pull off their clothes and go get changed," I commanded before going to sit beside Allen.I

I maintained my spot as Jade and Jerome came to stand beside me with Allen still on their hold."Someone is in there," Jade suddenly muttered when staring down at our appearance. We all looked like a mess not when dry bloods are lurking out of our bodies. We smell awful with dirt staining our faces. "We still need to give it a try," I exhorted."Not in this circumstance; we look horrendous," Jerome said in a voice barely a whisper.I looked at them before my eyes fell on Allen, "But he still needs our help, he is extremely losing blood," They both looked at Allen, I watched them exchange a look with a nod."Let's give it a try then, we are doing this because of you," Jerome uttered, earning a thank you from me.We both began striding toward the house, inching close, and we noticed the light suddenly switched off.We looked at each other when still rambling toward the shack. But who in their right minds could come and live here, hiding deep inside the woods?Far away from everyone's

Amelia's pov: Standing at the door with Jade laughing his ass out, I heard someone call my name more like a whisper. Turning around after I must have pulled off the beard with my hair loosened and allowed it to flow down my back. My eyes widened in shock at the person behind the pillar. "Allen…….!" I called with doubt. Jade stifled before peeping his head to see the guy standing in the hallway looking back at me. "What is going on there?" Jerome's voice from inside. But none of us said a word, our eyes were fixed on the gut outside, immediately his gaze connected with that of Jade it darkened. "Allen," I called again, drawing his attention back to me. "You are the maid all these while and………" he stared at me and then back at Jade and Jerome. "Hmmm…… " I cleared my throat, "Yeah," I nodded. And just then Ryan walked toward us, on noticing the scene in front of him, I saw his jaw drop. Trying to take a step back, Allen rushed him and smashed him against the wall nearer to him

On an alert, we all whirled our heads in the direction where the sound was coming from.My ear perked up with my eyes changing a darker shade of my wolf's eyes so that I could see clearly anything behind or lurking behind the wood.Using the back of my palm, I lifted it with a wave exhorting them to remain calm and vigilant but just then someone emerged from the shadows."Alpha……!" With our eyes widening, we all say in unison.Chuckling, he smiles at us especially when his eyes lock with mine."We thought that you left for your penthouse," I said. id as if I wasn't happy seeing him here."No! Sorry but I changed my mind," he said."Running will only make me seem like a fool and coward," I nodded at him with my eyes swiveling around in search of his pack members, "Where are your family and that of pack members?" Looking behind him, he muttered, "You all can now come out," And just then, crowds started emerging from the trees and coming into view. Am confused though, why hide before?
