Angeline would've thought no one was over the phone if not for the sound of Sean's breathing.

"Sean, I'm still the same as before. I can continue my life without you."

Angeline looked at the diamond ring on the bedside table that she had taken off.

"I don't mind regardless if you'll return. For me, there's no difference."

"So, I'm not important to you anymore, am I?"

Sean sounded strained.

"It's neither right nor wrong. It's just that there are other important people in my life now, not just you."

Angeline felt a sting in her heart as she spoke.

"When you ignored my plea and threatened me with Benjamin, you reminded me of Ned. He once threatened me in the same way. I don't want to experience that again. I hope you can understand me."

Sean's breathing quickened.
