Chapter 428

As soon as she entered the apartment, Angeline smelled the food the housekeeper had kept warm for her. She glanced at the dining table to see the food laid out. She didn't have the appetite to eat anything now, though. Instead, she threw herself onto the couch.

She was exhausted from throwing herself into her work today, but it also put her at ease. The stack of sky-high documents on her desk during the day made her understand that Sean was slowly handing over Lawson Global to her.

It also meant the date of his departure was fast approaching. Angeline shut her eyes and threw an arm over them. She thought of Ned's tear-filled eyes, finding them laughable.

She couldn't believe he actually had it in himself to feel aggrieved. Did he think using his memory loss as an excuse could wipe away everything that had happened? Did he think his regret could bring Anne and Henrietta back to life?
