Rowan had paid both the manager and the driver off. The young man was the only one Rowan hadn't had anything to do with.

The young man glanced at Sean, then at Robert. He stepped forward and cautiously placed an aged journal on the coffee table. "My mother worked at the shopping mall and served Ms. Lawson in the past. This is her journal.

"At the time… I was diagnosed with leukemia and needed a lot of money for my treatment. Because of that, my mother accepted the money against her better judgment and allowed Ms. Lawson to be taken away."

He pursed his lips. "She spent the rest of her life living in horrible guilt. Later, on her deathbed, she told me to find a way to pass this journal to you, Mr. Lawson Senior. I'm a nobody, so I've never gotten the chance to even get near you. I've kept the journal this whole time, though."
