CALLIE

I scrambled to pull my top down, my face flushing as I sat upright. "Lucas!" I exclaimed, my voice more of a squeak.

Sebastian, however, didn’t seem nearly as fazed. He leaned back against his pillows with a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Ever heard of knocking, Lucas?”

Lucas blinked at us. “You’re kidding, right? You’re in a hospital room. I figured privacy was implied.” He ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. “But no, I guess I should’ve anticipated this. You’re incapable of resting like a normal human being.”

I buried my face in my hands, mortified. “This isn’t happening,” I mumbled.

“Oh, it’s happening,” Lucas said with a chuckle. “Trust me, I wish it weren’t, too.” He pointed a finger at Sebastian. “And you… shouldn’t you be focusing on, I don’t know, not moving too much instead of trying to get into… hmmm?”

Sebastian smirked, completely unbothered by the situation. “Don’t blame me, Lucas.”

He turned his gaze to me, his eyes softening. “I’ve just misse

CALLIEI stepped back into the apartment, closing the door quietly behind me. Sebastian was sitting in his wheelchair, his face turned toward the large windows that overlooked the city skyline. “Hey,” I said softly, walking toward him.He turned his head, his lips curving into a faint smile. “Hey babe.”I stopped in front of him, crouching slightly so I could meet his gaze. “How are you feeling?”“I’m fine,” he replied, the automatic response falling from his lips like a reflex.I arched a brow, refusing to let him off the hook so easily. “Fine doesn’t count. I need details, Sebastian. Pain level? Energy? Mood? Spill.”He chuckled lightly, though there was a flicker of exhaustion in his eyes. “Alright, Nurse Callie. Pain’s manageable. Energy’s low. Mood… significantly improved now that you’re here.”My heart warmed at his words, and I leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to his forehead. “I’ve missed you being home,” I whispered. He reached for my hand. “I’ve missed being here.”I

SEBASTIAN The satisfaction coursing through my veins was unlike anything I’d felt in weeks. Callie always knew how to drive me crazy, how to take me to the brink and pull me back just in time. But this time, as I watched her lean back, catching her breath with that teasing smirk on her lips, I couldn’t let it end there. Not when I knew how much she wanted me. Not when I could see it in the way her body trembled, how her chest rose and fell with unspoken need."Callie," I murmured,“Come here. Lie on the bed for me,” I said, my gaze steady on hers. For a moment, she just stared, her lips twitching as if she wanted to argue. But then, without a word, she stood and tugged her gown off, the fabric slipping down her body in one smooth motion. My breath hitched. God, she was stunning. She walked to the bed, moving slowly, as if she knew the effect she had on me. When she lay down, she parted her legs just enough to reveal her pink vertical lips between her thighs.I swallowed hard. “You’re

CALLIEI stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the collar of the navy-blue blazer Sebastian had insisted I wear. It was professional, and paired perfectly with the baggy office pants. My hair was pinned back, not a strand out of place, and I couldn’t help but smirk as I caught Sebastian’s reflection in the mirror. His eyes roamed over me with that familiar intensity that made my stomach flutter.“You look gorgeous,” he said, his voice low, full of admiration. “So fine it’s unfair to the rest of the world.”I turned to face him, raising an eyebrow. “Oh, you think so?”“Absolutely,” he replied, a playful grin tugging at his lips. “They’re not ready for you, Callie.”I laughed softly, walking over to him and brushing my fingers along his cheek. “What about you? Are you going to be okay while I’m gone?”Sebastian leaned back in his wheelchair, his expression softening. “I’ll be fine. This is your moment, Callie. Don’t worry about me. Just focus on sealing that deal.”I bent down, pressi

CALLIEMr Carlisle stood up slowly as he circled the desk and came to sit directly in front of me.The smug smirk on his face made my skin crawl. His gaze lingered far too long on me, sliding shamelessly from my face to my chest, and then lower.“You’re... quite striking,” he said. “I can see why Sebastian trusts you. You carry yourself well.”I sat up straighter, ignoring the implication in his tone. “Thank you, Mr Carlisle,” I replied, keeping my voice firm but polite.“Frank… my name is Frank,” he corrected, leaning forward slightly. “Please, Callie, no need for formalities. We’re going to be partners soon, after all.”He paused, letting the word partners hang in the air, dripping with double meaning. My stomach twisted in disgust, but I kept my expression neutral.“Alright, Frank,” I said coolly. “But I’m not entirely sure what you mean by ‘partners.’ Could you clarify?”His smirk deepened as if he thought my question was naive. “Come now, Callie. You’re not a child. You know exac

CALLIEThe guards’ grip on my arms was bruising as they dragged me out of the office. My feet barely kept up with their hurried pace, my heels skidding across the polished floors. Everything felt surreal, like I was trapped in a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. My chest heaved with shallow breaths, and tears streamed down my face.“I didn’t do it!” I cried, my voice breaking, but they didn’t stop or even glance at me.The hallway was buzzing with activity… employees gawking, whispers and gasps following me as the guards marched me forward like a criminal. The humiliation stung almost as much as the betrayal. I twisted my head back toward the office, hoping to catch a glimpse of the man who’d framed me, but he was nowhere to be seen.As we exited the building, the hot afternoon sun burned my eyes. A group of police officers stood by their cars, waiting. My heart sank even further. One of the guards quickly explained the situation to an officer, who nodded sharply.“This her?” the o

  • Second Chances Under the Tree    It's final

LUCAS I was barely holding it together. My thoughts were a jumbled mess as I sped through the city streets, weaving in and out of traffic with a single focus: Callie.Murder? Callie?None of it made sense. Callie wouldn’t hurt anyone, let alone kill them. And the details didn’t add up. She didn’t own a gun, didn’t even know how to use one. She’d walked into that office unarmed and walked out framed.Who would do this? And why?Whoever had done this knew exactly what they were doing. It wasn’t a random accusation… it was calculated, meticulous. Someone wanted her gone. But they underestimated me.I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, my knuckles white. “You picked the wrong person to mess with,” I muttered to no one in particular. The city blurred past me, and for a moment, I debated heading straight to the police station. But as much as I wanted to storm in and demand her release, I knew I needed a plan. Charging in blind wouldn’t help Callie, it would only make things worse.Th

CALLIE“Alright, Donovan, you’ve got five minutes. Say what you need to say.” The detective instructed as he turned to leave.Donovan raised his hand. “Off the mic. And the camera.”The detective hesitated, his brow furrowing. “That’s against protocol, Donovan.”“Do it,” Donovan said, his tone sharper now. “Unless you want me calling your boss and explaining why you refused to follow a simple request.”The detective’s jaw tightened, but after a moment, he gave a reluctant nod. “Fine. Turn them off,” he said, gesturing to his colleague. The officer moved to the equipment and switched off the recording devices. The faint red light on the camera blinked out, leaving the room feeling colder and more isolated than before.“There. You’ve got your privacy,” the detective muttered, stepping out of the room and closing the door behind him.I shifted uneasily in my seat, my wrists aching from the cold metal cuffs. Donovan’s lips twitched in what could have been a smile, but his eyes never left

LUCASThe rain fell in sheets, slamming against the windshield as I drove through the city, my grip on the steering wheel tight. It had been two weeks since Callie was locked up. Two weeks of sleepless nights, dead ends, and frustration clawing at my chest.Every lead I followed crumbled to dust. Whoever framed her had covered their tracks perfectly.I wasn’t used to failure, but this felt like sinking into quicksand.I needed Callie out. I needed her free. The thought of her in that cold, soulless cell…scared, isolated, sent another wave of anger surging through me. Callie was supposed to be with me, not rotting in some prison for something she didn’t do.I tightened my grip on the wheel, my jaw clenching as I pushed the car faster.Sebastian was another problem. His stubbornness was expected, but I’d handled him the way I had to. Taking his phone had been a necessary evil. He didn’t understand the risk of his reckless emotions. CALLIEI slapped Sebastian’s chest, the frustration bubbling inside me. “You should’ve just told me all this sooner! You could’ve spared me all the stress and drama.”He winced slightly, “I didn’t want to tell you because I knew you’d be scared. You wouldn’t have agreed to let my guy shoot her. Not here, not today.”I was about to retort when I glanced around, my gaze landing on the guests who still remained eerily silent. My heart tightened with a sudden wave of discomfort. “Wait… have the guests been informed about all of this? About what’s happening?”Sebastian gave me that damn smile of his, the one that made everything seem like it was under control. “Oh, they know. I had to tell them. I didn’t want there to be chaos when it all went down.”I narrowed my eyes. “You’re not serious,” I muttered, lightly hitting his head playfully. "You had to make sure everything went according to plan, even the guests."He chuckled softly. “Callie, you’re the one who’s always thinking things throu

The entire room seemed to tense as the officers approached Charlotte, who was still writhing on the floor, her hands desperately clutching at her bleeding legs."Charlotte Lawson," Nora’s voice rang out, echoing through the room, "You are under arrest for attempted murder. You’re also charged with the murder of Damon Wright and the murder of your son, Lucas Lawson."My heart skipped a beat. Attempted murder? Who’s Damon? The brushes moved across my face like they were supposed to, but my mind kept drifting, wondering how the hell I had ended up here. This was supposed to be the day I’d dreamed about since I was a little girl, the perfect celebration of love and happiness. But instead, all I could think about was how surreal it felt. The soft smell of flowers, the faint noise of voices around me…it all seemed like a dream. How did I get here? SEBASTIANI kept my eyes on the road, but my attention was mostly on Callie. She was sitting there quiet, her fingers tapping nervously against her knee. I knew she was still upset about Charlotte… hell, I was too…but this surprise... it was meant to take her mind off things. It was meant to make her forget all about that witch and focus on us.I glanced over at her, and for a moment, our eyes met. I could see the worry still clouding her thoughts, but her lips curled up just slightly. That was all I needed. I wasn’t giving up. I had promised her everything, and I would keep that promise.I loved Callie more than anything. The thought of her standing by my side for the rest of our lives filled me with a sense of pride I couldn’t put into words. But today… today was about proving it. I wasn’t just going to let some meddling woman ruin our joy. Not today. Not ever.I pulled up to the curb, the tires rolling over the gravel, and stopped in front of the building. My heart was racing, my

CALLIEThe bell chimed softly as we stepped into the cake shop, the rich scent of vanilla and chocolate filled the air. The baker, a cheerful woman in her forties with flour dusting her apron, welcomed us with a bright smile.“Good afternoon!” she greeted. “You must be the Thompsons?”“That’s us,” Sebastian replied, wrapping an arm around my waist. “Or at least, soon-to-be Thompsons.”I smiled, still thinking about my wedding dress. I had just bought my dream wedding gown… a simple but stunning straight dress. I couldn’t wait to wear it as I walked down the aisle to marry the man standing beside me.The baker ushered us to a cozy table near the counter, where a variety of cake samples had already been laid out. “Alright, let’s get started. These are some of our most popular flavors. Feel free to let me know if there’s something specific you’d like to try.”We sat down, and I immediately reached for a small fork, eager to dive in. CALLIEI was in the kitchen, still in my pajamas, hair tied up in a loose bun, trying to focus on slicing tomatoes without nicking my fingers. The scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and I found it comforting as I hummed softly to myself.I was just about to layer the slices onto the bread when a pair of strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind, pulling me gently against a warm chest.“My fiancée,” Sebastian’s deep voice purred into my ear, sending a shiver down my spine, “what are you cooking?”I smiled, not even bothering to turn around. “My fiancé,” I replied, mimicking his tone, “I’m making sandwiches for breakfast.”He chuckled, the sound vibrating against my back. “Sandwiches?” he murmured, his lips grazing my neck. “I don’t want to eat sandwiches.”I paused, raising an eyebrow as I turned slightly to look at him. “Oh? What do you want to eat then?”Sebastian grinned, his dark eyes gleaming mischievously as he leaned closer. “You.”I rolled my eyes, though I cou

"Charlotte was released from prison."She blinked at me, clearly not processing the news at first. "What? How? Why?""Yeah," I sighed. "Turns out, they didn’t have enough to hold her. So, she’s free."Callie’s eyebrows shot up, her lips parting in shock. "She’s free? Just like that?"I nodded. "Yeah, just like that. But it’s fine. I’m meeting with Nora tomorrow. We’ll figure this out."She leaned forward, concern etched on her face. "But if she’s out, doesn’t that complicate things? What if she comes after you again?"I smiled, a slow grin spreading across my face. "Charlotte thinks she’s smart, but I’m smarter. I’ve got a plan. A backup plan."She lifted her head. "Backup plan?"I leaned in a little, lowering my voice. "Plan B. It’s time to put it into motion."Callie sat back in her chair, eyes locked on mine

Congratulations again.”“Thank you,” I said, still slightly dazed by the realization that this entire moment had been documented. As Matt packed up his equipment and walked away, Sebastian turned to me, his hand resting lightly on my back.“Come on,” he said, steering me toward a table set up a few feet away. The table was set with twinkling candles, a crisp white tablecloth, and an array of dishes and wines.I stopped short, taking it all in. “Sebastian… this is incredible.”“I wanted it to be perfect,” he said simply, pulling out a chair for me. “For you.”The music continued to play softly in the backgroun
