Ophelia stared at Khloe who was chasing her classmate around. Her sinister smile became more devilish by the second, anyone who saw her would realize that her innocent face was nothing but a show.

She was a wicked person and had hate for little kids, she specialized in ending their lives or maybe hurting them in a particular way, and that was what she came for.

It was Bobby who introduced her to Amelia, and she received information from Amelia and did some research by herself. It was also coincidental that she had applied to be a teacher in the school because she had another target.

She got called in last night and it was truly perfect timing. It seemed the forces of wickedness were working in her favor because she now had two targets, but Khloé would come first since Amelia had paid higher.

The higher the price, the faster the job gets done. It was that easy.

A ball rolled to her heel and she looked down at it. She slowly bent and picked it up.

“That's mine,” Khloé said and stoo

Marian hoped that Amelia would see it soon and act. Marian planned to just watch how Amelia would destroy Lydia, so she could have Carson all to herself. Though she was aware that the fight would be between her and Amelia, she had more of an advantage than her. First, she was closer to Carson and was an insider. She could even be there to comfort him when anything terrible happened. Meanwhile, Amelia would never achieve that in a million years. Marian decided to send another text message which read 'Act fast because she's taking him away from you.'Marian smirked after sending the messages and walked to them. She went directly to Gary and played with him for a bit. “Has Gary taken his drugs?” Carson questioned Marian. Marian quickly nodded and smiled at him. Carson began eating with a smile on his lips. Since the time Marian knew Carson, he had never had such a big smile on his face, even with Gary. Presently, he looked so happy and she knew why. The hate within her became much

Carson saw their stares on him, and all that ran through his mind was how much his response was true. He couldn't deny the truth anymore, the truth about how feelings for Lydia couldn't stay hidden. He liked Lydia. He had these strange feelings for her that he had never had for any other woman. She brought him this happiness that he couldn't fathom. Khloé had shock written all over her face. The young child wasn't upset, but happy that there was something between Carson and Lydia. Carson was a good person, and he was the best father anyone could wish for. Khloé loved how he treated her mother with such gentleness and kindness. He didn't hurt her like her father used to. “That's awesome! I knew that you liked her, and I'm so happy for you both, are you boyfriend and girlfriend now?" Lydia gasped and protested; “No, we aren't in a relationship, and we don't like each other in the manner you are thinking. You're a child and shouldn't be entertaining such thoughts.”Hearing that Cars

She stared at the bottle and beamed happily, she sincerely derived joy in ruining others' lives and nobody would be able to save Khloé from her. She was aware that cameras were in the classes, but she knew how to evade a camera well. She wasn't some amateur in the job, she had started it a long time ago. On Friday, she had asked Khloé what snacks she would bring to the school on Monday and the child replied by mentioning some snacks like orange juice, and Pringles, but she would never forget to bring her yogurt. She said that she had liked the brand from the minute she tasted it and, Ophelia, comprehended what her next move would be. Khloé had mentioned the name of the brand and, unfortunately, Ophelia had also bought the same type of yogurt. She brought it out of her bag. It looked so identical to the one that Khloé had brought. 'One should teach their kids not to be so talkative, it might put them in a lot of trouble' Ophelia thought evilly and grinned at her reflection in the

Carson went to the hospital to see Nick. Since the trial was in a few days, he had to be well-prepared. So, he came to ask Nick for Lydia's test results from him. Though it was confidential, it would certainly serve as valid evidence in court. Carson entered his office and he was elated to see him.“Hey, man” Nick smiled and shook hands with him. “Hey, bro,” Carson smiled at him and took his seat. “How is your family?”“They are fine”“What brings you here? Don't tell me that you and Lydia are having issues again?” Nick questioned with a frown etching on his lips. “No, we might not be on that relationship path yet, but we are fine. I came here because the court trial would be in a few days and I need to submit some evidence to the court.” Carson said and placed his hands on the table. “The test results of Lydia; how she lost her child and her body was brutalized. I need everything” Carson requested. Nick understood his plight but told him that he could only give those results on

Marian saved the address on her phone. She quickly grabbed her purse and went to take an excuse from Ma'am, Anny. She lied that she was going to get her phone repaired. Ma'am Anny permitted her to leave but had her promise that she would be back before school's closing time. Marian promised Ma'am Anny and left from there. She wasted no time in boarding a cab and telling the cab driver the address. Seated in the cab, many thoughts came to her mind. Marian was nervous about meeting George and hoped he would hear her out. She also prayed hypocritically that she doesn't get caught up in the problems when she encounters George. In an hour, the cab stopped in front of the company and Marian paid. She stepped out of the cab and looked at the tall building, which made her gasp. 'Lydia's husband is so rich, why does she get the richest and even the most attractive men? Fuck her' Marian cussed inwardly and walked towards the company door. She was checked by the security and was permitted t

“I don't want you to hurt him, I love him and I don't want to regret coming here,” Marian said, feeling scared about George's words. She didn't care about Lydia if she died or lived, but Carson was too important to her, and she couldn't lose him at all. He was her whole life and despite his neglect towards her feelings, she still loved him and always would. “Mr George, I need you to give me your word on this matter. You can't harm Carson,” Marian implored, her face filled with distress. George stood up to his feet and walked to her. He pulled a chair and sat down, then turned the chair to her front.Marian gasped loudly when he grabbed her thighs and pulled her to himself. He was always a womanizer and would never change. “You came to ask me for help and I love doing things my way, but don't worry, I'll give you my word. Your little crush is safe” said George with a taunting smirk. Marian swallowed hard, feeling slightly uncomfortable with him touching her. “Relax” George whisp

Carson was flabbergasted, he thought that they were just petty armed robbers at first, but then they didn't steal the car after he got out of it, all they had been requesting was his phone. Was his phone more expensive than his car? Of course not. There was something more important in the phone than the car. While staring at the gun pointed at him, his mind went to only one person who could instruct these bastards to do this to him. It was George. Many unanswered questions ran through his mind, like how did he know that the evidence was in his phone? Not even Nick knew about it, the only person with whom he shared such information was Lydia. Lydia didn't seem nervous on the phone, like she was threatened or bullied. There was something off, but instead of thinking about it. He focused on surviving tonight without giving up anything. “The boss said—” “I don't care what the boss said, this fool has been making our jobs hard for us. It's just to get the damn phone from him, but he

“Lydia, don't you dare think of returning to that bastard for my sake,” Carson said with firmness in his tone. He forgot that his arm was injured and tried reaching for her face. “Ah” Carson groaned in pain and his hand was forced back to the bed. “You see, all I have been causing you are problems and now pain. He almost had you killed, if you had died, what would happen to Gary and the rest of us? I would live my entire life in guilt while Gary would completely be alone” Lydia cried, her delicate face red. “Carson, you don't deserve all this, you are a good man, and I'm not the right person for you. I've done nothing for you, but you've done so many favors for me that I can never repay” Lydia cried softly. Carson was touched by her words, he could feel his pain becoming deeper than it was. “That's what you believe, but I know that you've brought so much light into my life. You've made me feel this warmth that others have been unable to stir in me” Carson muttered, though his mou

The next morning, Lydia woke up by Carson's side. She had a beautiful and joyful smile on her lips. Waking up by his side was the most amazing thing ever, and the scent of cologne was still on him. She brought her nose close to his chest and nuzzled him. Lydia grinned and raised her hand, she stared at the beautiful ring. “My name is Mrs. Lydia Walters' Lydia chuckled and kissed her ring. “It's so beautiful.” She was still staring at her ring when she suddenly had the urge to vomit, she touched her stomach as it churned. “Did I eat something wrong yesterday? Lydia pouted her lips. The nauseating feeling stopped for a while, but then the bile rushed up her throat and she couldn't keep it in. She rushed out of the bed and threw up into the sink. The sounds of vomiting woke Carson up. He wanted to sleep back but realized something was wrong with his wife. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. He asked her, worriedly. “Love, are you alright?” He still heard her throwing up and had to

Lydia smiled at the mirror and spun around, she looked like the most beautiful bride ever. Carson turned back with a little smile on his lips, his threats had worked. He wasn't planning on doing any of those things he said, but he decided to act as one of the bad guys. One can't stick to a technique and tactic all the time. Carson returned to his seat and called a prison warder inside to listen to what he had said. Carson also brought out his phone and decided to make a recording. “Can you repeat what you had said?” Carson requested. The man sighed and said everything that had transpired between him and Alma. Carson was delighted and left from there as the warder was taken away. He was going to face his penalty. Carson contacted the police to visit George's house where Alma stayed and also to arrest Felix in his house. Carson planned on also releasing the recording through his Father's connections. It would be anonymous and would ruin Felix's chances of becoming the governor. Carson was excited about his plans but would execute them after they were both arrested fo

George had killed a man, strangled him during the traffic, and taken his cab as a means of transportation. Presently, he walked to Mrs. Isobel's limp body and carried her into the back seat of the cab. He closed the door and entered the front seat. He wasn't ready to drive her anywhere in particular, he would make sure that he was far from a place where the cops could find him. He would question her in the car, but he had to wait till she awakened. He had planned to lie to Alma that he couldn't stand the boredom and had to leave the cabin. Anyway, she believed every lie he spoke.George drove for a long while before parking near a certain roadside, he waited till she awakened, which happened a few minutes after the drive. “Hm,” Mrs. Isobel moaned in pain. She felt a pounding pain in the back of her head, her hand reached for it and there was a little bloodstain. “Oh my God” She cried and slowly sat up, her blurry eyes cleared little by little. “Who are you?” Mrs. Isobel asked i

“Why are you smirking? Do you find the situation amusing or what?” Alma frowned at him. “I'm sorry, but I've thought about my decision, and I'm ready to accept your suggestion for plastic surgery,” George stuttered.Alma screamed excitedly and hugged him tightly.“That's the spirit, I'm so glad that you have thought more carefully about my proposal. I promise you that once you do this surgery and probably practice how to change other things about yourself. Everything would be great” Alma giggled. “The cops would be off your back and the both of us can travel the world after our wedding.” George rolled his eyes but faked a laugh. “I won't do the surgery now, give me some time to have my face then after a few days from now, I can do the surgery” George smiled and pushed her away from him. “I'm so happy” Alma clapped excitedly and tilted her head from side to side like a child. “I'm not too happy about losing my handsome face, but it's worth the change,” George said and acted like

“No, I'm not interested in altering my appearance” George disagreed firmly. “Why? It's a suitable option for you never to be found, why would you lose such a chance, just to stay locked up in this wretched cabin” Alma argued with him. “I'm not interested in continuing the conversation, I won't change my appearance to fort anything in this world. The best thing I love seeing when I look at my reflection in the mirror is my face and nothing more” George said and turned his face away from her. Alma gasped and was offended by his selfishness. “I want you to have a free life, we can fake your death that you were found and killed. It would make a lot of sense when I start dating the new you. Why are you acting so selfishly towards me?” Alma said, her voice cracking at the end of her statement. “I'm not being selfish but standing by my own rules. I get that you went the extra mile to bring me out of jail, but that doesn't give you the right to order me around” George frowned. Alma gasp

“What did you just say?” Lydia panicked and sprang up. That news was so unexpected and shocking, she never expected to hear that the man who had ruined her life was out of prison, free to do the unimaginable. “How did he come out of prison? What exactly happened?” Evelyn asked, worried over the safety of Lydia. Carson shook his head. “I still don't know, but I'm going to that fucking prison to find out.” “How can he escape in just a week of being there? Many people have spent a decade trying to escape prison but haven't been able to, how can he make it seem so easy?” Evelyn asked questions that couldn't be answered by any of them. “The kids, we left the kids alone,” Lydia said agitated, and tried running out of the church. Carson held her back and pulled her into a hug. She was anxious, and her breathing had fastened like she was on the verge of having a panic attack. “There's nothing to be scared about, the children are secured, but George can be capricious. The kids were done with their exams, and they were at home. It was the weekend, Saturday specifically, and Lydia stayed at home. The kids weren't easy to control at all, Lydia realized how much they refused to listen to her. They listened more to Mrs. Isobel. This made Lydia a bit jealous and angry. She had to give Mrs. Isobel some hours off so that she could take care of the kids herself. “Both of you, sit down!” Lydia instructed and pointed at the couch. Gary and Khloé went to have a sit, seeing that their mother was more serious than ever. “It's not good to prove stubborn towards your parents, it causes sadness. Do you want Mommy to be sad?” Lydia pouted at her lips after speaking. They both shook their heads. “Alright, since you don't want me to be sad, then listen,” Lydia said. “It's truly depressing when I keep talking and you both keep disrespecting me by not listening!” “What are you supposed to do?” Lydia asked, looking angry, though she wasn't so angry. She simply w

The man walked to the witness box, he was accompanied by the cops. Carson never stopped investigating the people who had kidnapped Lydia. He was doing it in secret and working with the cops, the camera on the street was able to capture the plate number of the car. Though the car was dumped, they were able to trace the source and one of the kidnappers was caught, the only problem was his refusal to tell the truth. After the torture and promising his family protection from any harm, he confessed to the person who hired him but failed to mention George's name. Carson was displeased by the outcome of the investigation because he was sure that George had kidnapped Lydia. The kidnapper had only led them to another one in his team, that one was an easy nut to crack. He confessed, and his boss was arrested. He thought it would be easy to come out, but Carson proved him wrong, he thwarted any hope he had to escape prison. He finally agreed to a shorter sentence and in exchange, he would
