Thane's POV

I could see fear written all over her face, she didn't expect to meet me there, the look on her face was masking this question, "how did he find out."

I was passing close her chamber then I heard her soliloquizing, she said something about running away not that I should care but I did, I didn't want her to leave. I feel drawn to her and at the same time I want to draw myself from her.

"Your... Your majesty," she stuttered.

"What are you doing her at this time if the night, when even the warriors are asleep," I asked.

"Your majesty, I just came out for some fresh air, my chambers is quite suffocating," she lied.

One thing is that she doesn't know how to lie, her body language always have her off.

I raised an eyebrow, my eyes boring into hers. "You weren't trying to run away, were you?" I asked, my voice dripping with skepticism.

Kaidaira's eyes widened, and she took a step back, her hands shaking. "N-no, Your Majesty," she stuttered. "I wouldn't dare."

I chuckled, a low,

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Price of Loyalty

Kaidaira’s point of view. “Save me goddess..” I mumbled as I pounded through dense forest, my paws thrashing against the earth with a frantic heartbeat. Usually, my wolf form was a symbol of strength and freedom, but now it felt like some fragile shield against the dangers closing in. Every stride burned, my legs aflame with exhaustion, my lungs heaving. My injuries, sustained in that desperate bid for escape from the palace, weighed me down, refusing to heal as fast as I needed them to. Sweat fell from my fur, plastering it to neck and shoulder. The metallic taste of blood was in my nostrils, along with the earthy scent of damp soil and decaying leaves. Branches whipped across my face, their fingers scratching at my cheeks, leaving stinging but light scratches. My heart ran like a runaway drumbeat in my chest, my senses on high. Every snap of a twig, every rustle of the leaves, made me flinch. The forest, once a sanctuary, was now a maze of terror. I dared not look back,

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Road To Bondage

Kaidaira's Point of View How did I—one of the best fighters— become a slave? All because of a man. Rough hands grasped my arms, yanking me away from the only refuge I'd known. The Egyptians' brutal grip felt like cold steel, their fingers digging into my skin like talons. My legs buckled beneath me, roots and rocks tripping me up with merciless cruelty. The forest, once my sanctuary, now seemed like a distant memory, a fleeting dream shattered by the harsh reality of my captivity. One of them, a hulking man with a twisted grin, forced wolfsbane into my mouth. The bitter taste exploded on my tongue, a toxic invasion that left me reeling. "Swallow," he growled, his hand clenched around my jaw like a vice. I swallowed, the potion coursing through my veins like liquid fire, dulling my wolf senses and leaving me vulnerable. Panic set in as another guard struck me in the stomach, the blow landing with precision cruelty. I doubled over, gasping for air as my diaphragm went into spasms.

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    The Dance Of Shame

Kaidaira’s point of view. The weeks dragged along, each day so much like every other that it was impossible to tell where one started and another ended. It was some sort of never-ending, grey twilight that refused to break into dawn. It was like the very walls were closing in on me, cold stone exhalations damp with chill leaching into my bones. Memories of my time with him haunted me, always whispering in my head day and night. His touch, his voice, his gaze-things that clung and poisoned my mind. That evening, the guards arrived at my door. Their faces were vacant; their eyes cold as the stone floors. "The king requests your presence," one growled out, like a roughly hewn door scraping across its floor. I followed, my heart heavy with foreboding, my feet dragging as though weighted by invisible chains. The corridors stretched out before me, dark and foreboding, the torches that lighted them casting eerie shadows on the walls. The flames danced,; demonic silhouettes cast scary

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Glided Cages

Kaidiara’s point of view. Months passed, and with each day, a touch-and-go balancing act for survival-thwarting stone walls whose faces, from the wear of centuries of whispers, had been ground smooth as velvet. My cell, once a damp, dingy affair, slowly emerged from this metamorphosis into a small but elegant retreat. Plush cushions in rich burgundy invited me to take a seat, while tapestries in their warm colors showed forests of olden times with their mythical creatures. Slowly, it would weave tales of a long-forgotten lore. The air was alive with scent: sweet-scented candles in the form of lavender and vanilla wafted their soothing aroma, masking the stench of oppression. Fresh flowers-roses, lilies, carnations-overflowed from delicate china vases, their petals unfolding like tender kisses. It was then that the king's mercy came with strings attached. He coddled me with comforts because I bred his child, but my freedom still remained only an illusion, an elusive dream forev

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Moonlit Refuge

Kaidaira’s point of view. The darkness of the forest writhed and twisted around me, living darkness taking menacing forms. Trees loomed; their branches grasped at me, skeletal fingers. I crawled, my body screaming in protest with the movements-a death knell echoing through my bones. I was still reeling from the aftershocks of the transformation. But then, as if the moon itself took pity on me, its silvery light burst forth. The whole forest was transformed; bathed in an unearthly light, the leaves shone dew-kissed and diamond-like, and the trees were motionless, their branches etched against the sky like fine pen and ink drawings. An uneasy silence fell with the notion that night creatures had vanished. The air was heavy with anticipation, save for the soft rustling of leaves and some distant mournful hooting of an owl. Hours, it seemed, or even days were passing-the only small notion of time in that wide desolation. My pain gave place to thirst: the drying parchin

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Split Second Decision

Kaidaira’s point of view. It was six months from that night, but with Caspian before me now, my heart swelled with love. His small hands knitted into fists while his fragile eyelids fluttered at the gentle rhythm of his breathing. The sun beamed through the window and settled in the downy softness of his hair, fitting him out like a halo. It danced golden on the tiny nose, rose-petal mouth, and round cheeks. His soft coos and scent of baby filled the room, an acute memory of what I was to lose. But suddenly, there echoed through the distance that unmistakable sound of marching boots-a cadence of doom. The tremors vibrated through the floorboards, deep into my chest, a growl of warning. Instinct yammered a warning, every nerve in high alert, as if the very air was electric with danger. Trouble. The air grew thick with tension as I turned to our vulnerable position: our small rustic house, lying on the very outer edges of the pack territory, would provide little protection

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Indaboski Bahose

Kaidaira’s POV I could have ran, trying to escape their hold. But for the sake of my child, I chose to stop, and give in to Thane Riven's men. I knew of the reputation of their kingdom, I had heard the tales whispered about the Alpha's ruthlessness, his fury, how he could destroy thousands of wolves without lifting a finger. And now, standing before the Alpha king himself, I couldn't help but feel small under his gaze. It felt like he was stripping me naked by the way his eyes scanned me from head to toe. I had to lower my eyes to my blistered feet that had carried me here, to avoid his eyes that were boring holes into me. “I am Kaidaira, Your Majesty,” Despite my attempt to keep my voice steady as I answered his question, I failed. My voice came out weak, that I could barely hear myself. But I knew the king must have heard me. My head might be lowered, not meeting his eyes, but telling by the grunt I heard, I knew he had his eyes narrowed, and his lips tugged to a side in a

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    You are one lucky girl

Kaidaira's POVAfter a few weeks, I got completely healed and began my maid duties or, should I say, slave duties. Calantha kept threatening me with her words—“Because you survived the last one doesn't mean you'll survive the next," she always said. She made it known to me that she had another plan up her sleeves, and she was not going to leave me until I was completely broken."I'll break you, I'll crush your spirit that's what you'll get for thinking you can steal the alpha away from me," she said in a wicked tone. "This is my place you're just an intruder who would soon be gone, probably by death."Those last words got to me, "by death"; she meant she was going to kill me, and it was possible in every way. She could kill me, and no one would notice I was gone; I was that insignificant; I needed to act fast; I needed to leave this place as soon as possible.I can barely get past the warriors alone; how would I run away with my child? I would have to leave her here, but I can't.I c

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Akanchawa Baddie

Thane's POVI stood watching as the healer chanted ancient songs of healing; our pack's healers are the most powerful healers in history; we're the only ones who can heal a wolfsbane injury without involving a witch.I was promised by the healer that she would be safe, she would be healed, but I was anxious anyway because she looked like she was beyond repair; Calantha was indeed evil; what could she have done to deserve this kind of cruelty? It's not like I was righteous, but I don't kill without a cause. The healer was done, and she looked better than before; her wounds had begun to close, and the healer enhanced her Wolf's healing abilities so the injuries healed on their own."Thank you," I mutteredThe healer nodded and left. I stayed there watching her, watching her wounds heal by itself, and somehow that brought me peace. But good things don't last for long; almost immediately, my beta Roy came in with panic on his face."What's the matter," I asked with a calm tone."Your maje

Thane's POV"Silence," I yelled out, I have had enough of indulging her spoilt behavior. She froze, her whole body was shaken up already. I knew how to break her. But for now I’ll let her be.I stood up angrily, she wanted to say something, but the words were in a battle to come out. I stormed out and went to my chambers.I laid on my bed and tried to sleep but I couldn't, I tossed and turned through the night thinking about Kaidaira's whereabouts, the guards had returned saying she was no where to be found. She wouldn't leave her child, so where could she be? I kept thinking till it was morning, the dim sun shining on my face.I stood up and walked groggily out of bed to attend to the day's business, which mostly was looking for Kaidaira.Going to the bathhouse, the maids had already prepared a hot, steamy bath. I quickly took my bath, got dressed, and left.As I went out I saw Axel, it's been a while since I saw him because I had been busy, after the treaty was signed he had asked f

Thane's POV"Roy, check the wolfsbane available at the store," I said passing through the hallway."I already did we have two thousand barrels of wolfsbane at the storage room, Your Majesty," Roy replied, walking behind me."I have a feeling that there will be a war soon, and we have to be prepared. Prepare the archers. They should be on standby," I said.I recently began to have this ominous feeling that there would be a war soon, and whenever I feel this way, something always happens. I have to protect this pack whatever it takes."Gaston what is the next agenda, be quick," I hissed."Your majesty, the elders summoned you for a meeting at the Caspian hall," Gaston replied bowing his head."Bring the elders in I will speak with them now," I said in a commanding tone."Yes, your majesty," Gaston replied"You're both dismissed," I said in a low tone. They bowed and left.Immediately they left, I was accompanied by two warriors to the Caspian hall; what do the elders want to say?******

  • Scorned: The Rebirth of Kaidaira    Naked Wolf

KAIDAIRA’S POV I slowly opened my eyes, taking in my surroundings; I was lying in a dark, damp room with stone walls and earthen floors; the place smelled like hell. I tried to sit up but couldn't. I felt a bang on my head, forcing me to lie back on the ground. Where was I? How did I get there? Memories began flooding in, accompanied by a striking headache; I could remember taking Thane to his room after the party, and then, coming back from the room, someone grabbed me. I've been captured. Again. Panic set in as I stumbled to my feet. I walked around the room, feeling the walls and looking for a door or window, but I couldn't find any, no exit, no escape. I sat back down wondering who could have done this and why. One crazy person came to mind. As I sat there trying to make sense of my situation, I heard footsteps from outside of this dungeon-like room. An image emerged, revealing itself to be a lady with her face covered. I looked puzzled wondering where she came in from

KAIDAIRA’S POVI stood frozen, my mind racing with fear, anticipation, and curiosity. Alpha Thane's command to dance hung over me like a sword, its weight pressing upon my shoulders. The grand hall's opulent chandeliers cast flickering shadows on the walls, creating an eerie atmosphere. As I gazed out at the sea of faces, I felt a shiver run down my spine. The crowd's expectant silence was a palpable thing, a living entity that wrapped itself around my throat. I could feel their eyes upon me, some filled with curiosity, others with lust."You're nothing but a tool, Kaidaira," Zerek's venomous words echoed in my mind, a painful reminder of my past. His scornful gaze, his biting tone, still lingered within me, a festering wound. "You'll never be worthy of love." I pushed the memory away, focusing on the present. The music began, its melancholic melody weaving a spell of longing and sorrow. I closed my eyes, letting its rhythm guide me.
