We finally reached the door of the cottage, and Ulric quickly opened it, holding it for me to step inside. I felt a rush of warmth envelop me as I crossed the threshold, the contrast between the chilly rain and the cozy interior was immediate. I felt it down to my bone. It was warm and cozy, giving me that homely feeling again.

That feeling of wanting to stay there all day long wedged in my heart again, but the walk to the wood was great as well, I didn’t regret any of that.

Ulric moved efficiently, quickly grabbing some more logs and adding them to the fireplace. The fire crackled cheerfully an casted a warm glow around the room. He led me to a spot near the fireplace and pulled out a chair, gently guiding me to sit down. I flashed a smile at him in appreciation, grateful for that and every other thing he had done for me, I couldn’t thank him enough.
