At school the next day, the hype about the ball was so huge that everyone was just talking about the ball and nothing else.

All the adolescent werewolves who had not found their mate yet, were hoping to find their mate at the ball, so everyone was really over-excited for this gathering. And naturally, all the hopeful ones were seeking not just a second opinion about their chosen outfits from their friends, but even so much as twenty or thirty of them!

Abby was also one of them, and wanted to stand out from the crowd. After all, according to public knowledge, the Alpha hadn't found his mate yet either, so she still has a chance...and how could she let go of this golden opportunity?

She might have been distracted in planning the dress, accessories and hairstyles for the ball, because she bumped into me in the school corridor yet again. At first, she was obviously annoyed and looked up to see which lowly creature had interrupted her sweet daydreaming, but she became totally stunned af

Finally, the schedule at school came to an end and everyone rushed to their homes quickly, with promises of meeting their friends as soon as they were ready. The evening of the ball had arrived, and shortly after, so did Paul. He had come to my house to pick me up and take me to the venue; he was waiting for me outside of my house, as I started to walk out slowly while trying to manage myself. I was wearing the turquoise ball gown that I had bought from the mall with Paul the previous afternoon. Kate had helped me tie my hair into a high bun, intentionally leaving out some strands of my hair on the right side of my cheek, balancing out the other side that was decorated by the scar. As I had stared into the mirror at myself, Paul's comforting words had echoed in my ears, assuring me that I had made the right decision. "Sometimes… the things we think are making us the ugliest person in the world, are actually the things that mark us as the most beautiful person instead. So in your c

I was just as shocked as everyone else, or maybe even more than them. Not even in the wildest throes of my imagination, had I ever expected that he would announce me as his mate at the ball, like this. The state of my shock and disbelief was such that I was not able to react in any manner; I was just standing at my place completely frozen, without even moving at all while the scattered applause in the hall turned into a full chaos, replete with clapping, cheering and jeering, shouts, hoots and whistles. This was when he invited me for the opening dance, saying, "Lexie! My mate , may I ask your hand to open the dance for the evening?"I was not in a state to refuse, I was not in a state to accept, I was just suspended in my utter shock; and because of that, I just managed to bob my head up and down to resemble a nod. Paul came forward and firmly took my hand in his, and took me to the dance floor with all eyes focused on us like laser beams; but it was only his hand that I could bear

The day after the ball, I finally moved into Paul's house after a teary eyed but happy goodbye from my found family. He had arranged a separate room for me like I had demanded, as he assured me that he also did not want to make me uncomfortable in the slightest. I was happy to see that he had meant what he had said, about him being willing to give me as much time as I wanted; but because of my safety reasons he just couldn't let me live there.Since I moved to his house, he was always very kind to me, and always took care of my needs besides paying attention to my likes and dislikes. Among all these lovely aspects, the funniest part was that he was trying to stay as close as he could to me while making sure that he didn't cross any boundaries like last time, and also that he didn't seem too eager for my attention. But sometimes, the circumstances became such that his possessive or desperate side came out in a cute way, and I couldn't help but laugh. The first day I moved into his hou

Lost in the panic of being extremely close to him as well as in his eyes, I was barely managing to breathe with difficulty... when he caught my attention with new instructions."Now Lexie, listen to me very carefully. Grab my collar and twist it towards my left side, while lifting your legs to my stomach and hitting me lightly there, but as strong as you can ever hit someone when anyone apart from me comes this near to you-""But Paul, what if I mistakenly hit you more strongly then-""Shh! Don't think too much, just practice! Nothing will happen to me."He interrupted me and showed me the demo, while repeating the steps as slowly and gently as he could. He then folded his arms across his chest and started waiting for me to repeat all of them.I took a deep breath and closed my eyes before grabbing his collar! but when it came to raising my leg to his stomach, I mistakenly tangled my foot on his left shin, causing him to lose his balance. As a result, both of us fell to the ground; bu

After I went back to the palace with Paul, I saw my parents standing in the living room…along with Nate. At first I became so excited at the sight of them that I almost could not believe my eyes; but within seconds, guilt started building inside my stomach. And as the castle of the guilt was completed, all of the excitement almost entirely transformed into guilt, and I stayed at my place without moving my feet any further. Although I could see the same excitement mirrored in the eyes of my parents, there was some anger there too; after all, I was at fault and had left the pack and house both, without saying anything to anyone. Finally, I put aside my hesitation and fears and tried to lift my feet and move towards my parents, when I saw my parents themselves had started walking towards me. My mother wordlessly pulled me into a warm hug after reaching near me, followed by my father, and I sighed deeply as the familiar combination of their natural odours of lavender and vanilla ove

Paul and his father had arranged a grand banquet for Nate in the night. The entire palace was decorated with lights and bunches of flowers were placed every few feet. The banquet was being held in the open area amidst the palace gardens instead of a hall, as the weather outside was quite pleasant. A light breeze was blowing, bringing in the fragrance of flowers and spreading the delicious smell of the different types of dishes prepared in the honour of the guests. Everyone was looking forward to Nate's arrival at the banquet, and Paul's parents were eagerly waiting to greet him. As soon as he stepped inside the dining area, Paul's father stepped forward and pulled him into a hug and spoke, patting his back. "Oh Nate! My boy, how are you? It has been ages since I last met you. I am really sorry for your father's demise, what a tragic day it was." Nate didn't say anything, while Paul's father continued by himself; "I am sorry for your loss, kid. Your father and I used to be great f

As the guests slowly began to leave and it was clear that the party was about to be over, my mother approached me. Silently pleading with her eyes, she had taken me to the room they were staying in. To be honest, I had also been hoping for her to come and meet me and I was thankful that she did; I was not sure what her reaction would be if I visited her directly in her room. And also, I was not yet confident enough to face her, nor was I completely ready to face my father. But she had made every doubt of mine seem futile as she came towards me in a slightly hesitant way but with an affectionate look in her eyes and said, "Lexie, dear, can you please come with me? I think we need to talk, sweetie.""Of course mother." I nodded to her before I excused myself and started to follow her to her room, and entered behind her.She made me sit on the chair placed in her room by a small dining table in one corner of the room, and finally asked;"Lexie, dear! "Oh no, not at all dear! On the contrary, I know he has been looking for you for so many years." My mother's voice, filled with pride, broke the bubble of fear. There was a distinct glow on her face as she spoke; "Your brother is considered to be a once-in-a-lifetime warrior, at the age of fourteen only! At first, he enrolled into the training program at school just because of his friends, but his instructor says that he has great potential. In fact, he has been selected by Alpha to train with the upper tier of wolves and once he becomes even stronger, he might be considered for the royal guard. He really wanted to see you, but Jonas was tied-up with training that takes up most of his day recently, because it seems like a war is coming." "A- a war?!" I repeated, a little surprised at the way my mother had mentioned it. "Yes, sweetie. • Scar : the rejected Luna   97. Yours Forever*

Lexie's POV: Moonlight poured through the glass panels above us, painting silver trails across the bed. It was perfect. Just me and my new husband… only the raw, aching certainty between us, that we belonged to each other. Utterly and forever. He let me down gently, but the way his fingers tightened briefly on my waist betrayed the hunger simmering just beneath his calm. And God, I wanted that hunger. I wanted to drown in it, to be claimed by it, to leave behind every last piece of the girl I had been before him. I pushed up on shaking arms, desperate to close the space between us, even though I was still shaking. The aftershocks from the orgasm he pulled out of me with nothing but his mouth and fingers left my whole body boneless, burning, needy. My dress was bunched up around my waist, and Paul's hands were still smoothing slow, worshipful paths along my thighs, as if he couldn't stop touching me even for a second. I didn’t want him to stop. I couldn’t have him stop.

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   96. My Husband*

Lexie's POV: My heart was ready to burst out of my chest with happiness. The Lexie who had gotten used to being invisible at best and a monster at her worst, was still unable to believe that all these people were here to celebrate her union with her mate. Mate, the word which had once been enough to trigger all my trauma, was now the reason for this happiness. My mate, my husband, my Alpha. Paul didn’t say anything as he laced his fingers with mine, pulling me gently but firmly toward the edge of the glowing boat. I followed without a word, my heart pounding harder with every step. The guests faded into the background; the laughter, the music, the ripple of the lake, all blurred into a haze behind us. All I could feel was the heat of his hand around mine, the promise in his touch. A small rowboat was waiting at the side, lit only by the soft spill of moonlight. Paul helped me get in first, his hands skimming my waist. I sucked in a breath, suddenly extremely aware of ever

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   95. Fireflies*

Lexie's POV: As the vows were sealed and the ceremonial howl echoed through the forest, the mist parted like a curtain, revealing a sixth boat that had been hidden partially till now. It was an oval platform, white and sparkling as it was paneled with crystal, tethered at a slight distance from the others. The lake under it was glowing faintly, with silver fireflies lighting a path across the water. Without a word, Paul took my hand, leading me toward the waiting boat. As we stepped onto it, the guests on the other boats rose in expectant silence, eyes shimmering with magic and emotion. The music began to be played on wind instruments and ancient drums, echoing across the lake like a call to something primal and sacred. Paul's hand slipped into mine as we took our place in the center, and the moment we stepped onto the floor, it was like entering another world. The crystal beneath my bare feet was cool, as if the magic of its surroundings had made it come alive. Around us,

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   94. Whispering Pines

Author's POV: The wedding was to be held at the sacred Whispering Pines– a place with and bound by the blessings of the Moon Goddess. For generations, the royals of werewolf packs had come here to wed under the gaze of the stars, and Paul, despite his preference for modernity, had chosen to honor that tradition. The Lake of Elarion stretched before them like a sheet of silver, reflecting the full moon and scattering the waves everywhere. It was said that when vows were exchanged at this place, the Moon Goddess herself was a witness to it. Five great boats were floating on the glassy surface of the lake, carved from ancient redwood. Each boat gleamed under the starlight, connected by delicate bridges woven with strands of silver and red silk thread. The largest among them was at the center, draped in pale silk and adorned with cascades of white roses. At its heart, a crescent-shaped platform glowed faintly, etched with sacred runes by the Elder wolves. Nobles and emissaries fr

Lexie felt it the moment Paul carried her across the threshold—the heat, the burn, like her blood had turned molten. It wasn’t just the remnants of whatever Damien had slipped into her drink. No, this was something different. Something deeper. Hungrier. Like her body was screaming for only one thing—and it was him.But the strangest part? The moment Paul touched her—just lightly, just enough to tug at the strap of her heel—it was like her skin remembered cool water. His fingers were a balm on her fire. Her muscles eased, her breath hitched, and for a second, her mind stopped spinning. She whimpered when he pulled away, even slightly.“Lexie,” Paul murmured again, trying to move back, trying to do the right thing. Always trying to do the right thing. But she didn’t care about right. She cared about real. And right now, he was real. She grabbed his tie again, tugged him down until their noses almost brushed. “Stop pulling away,” she whispered. “Don’t you dare pull away from me.”He hesi

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   92. My mate!*

Lexie's POV:The warmth from the drink surged faster than I expected, like liquid fire wrapping around my nerves. My limbs felt sluggish, and Damien’s hand slipped farther along my back, his body edging in too close, the smirk on his face tightening.“Damien… stop! Stop right now!” I whispered, trying to pull away. My voice sounded far away, and muffled. He leaned in, his lips far too close to my face. “Oh, come on! An omega like you is getting the attention of not one but TWO powerful Alphas, Don’t act like you are not enjoying this…”I recoiled. My elbow tried to rise, to shove him away, but it was no use. I felt like I was moving in slow motion, and the reality was buzzing past way too quickly for me to react in time. "Shh!”He mock-soothed, dragging me closer. "Everyone’s watching. Wouldn’t want a scene, would we now! Already, your reputation as a Luna is at stake, now who would like a fake attention seeker on top of that? Because let me tell you! Sister in law, my reputation

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   91. Be a Luna!

Lexie's POV: The gala was a dream I hadn’t dared to picture just a few weeks ago.The grand hall was bathed in golden light, the chandeliers casting a soft glow over the guests, their laughter echoing like distant music. Paul and I stood at the center, surrounded by pack members offering warm smiles, kind words, and soft apologies. Everyone seemed eager to speak to us, to me? And for the first time in what felt like forever, I didn’t flinch from the attention. I had expected the memories to sting when they brought Abby up. And they did, just a little. But I didn’t let it show. I straightened my spine, met every gaze head-on, and responded with quiet grace. I wasn’t here to shrink into shadows anymore. I had survived, and I was ready to thrive. And for that, I was ready to do anything. Paul stood by my side, his hand never once letting go of mine, his silent support wrapping around me like a shield. I was aware of every inch of him—his calming presence, his warm strength, and the

The world had gone still again. Paul carried her to the bed, cradling her against his chest while Lexie's arms stayed wrapped around his neck, her face tucked close, and he could feel the aftershocks of her release still lingering in the way her body trembled against his.He laid her down carefully, crawling in beside her and pulling the blanket over them. She immediately shifted, nestling closer until her bare skin pressed fully against his, like she was afraid he might disappear if she let go.He wrapped an arm around her waist, tucking her tight against his chest. One leg hooked around hers, and his free hand found her back, fingertips tracing soft circles there. Her fingers slid along his stomach, drawing lazy, invisible patterns. Neither of them spoke for a while, coming down from their own highs. But the silence was filled with peace. Paul pressed a kiss to the crown of her head. “You okay?” He murmured, his voice already thick with sleep. Lexie nodded against his chest, h

  • Scar : the rejected Luna   89. Claim me again*

The stone halls of the Apollo estate were starting to brighten up as the day progressed, while Paul and Lexie walked back from the throne room. Their fingers were interlaced, and there was a lightness in her steps that hadn't been there for days. It wasn't much, but Paul noticed it. Lexie was quiet, but her silence wasn’t strained. There was a calmness in her presence now, and Paul knew why. The guilt that had weighed so heavily on her, unjust and suffocating, had finally been lifted. The punishment for Abby may not have been the harshest he could have delivered, but it had been just. More importantly, the truth had been revealed in public. Every member of the pack had seen the truth with their own eyes. That was all Lexie had wanted… to be heard and believed. The moment the door shut behind them and they entered the privacy of their chambers, Lexie turned and stepped into Paul’s chest, wrapping her arms around him tightly. Her cheek pressed against his heart, as if she nee
