Chapter 72. Needed But Hated

Vincent walked towards Mike, who gasped and came over him. They stopped in the middle, with the night wind bringing an unpleasant smell. Understandably, they had just finished terminating all the remaining vampires.

“You are Vincent Cox?” Mike asked, and Vincent took off his mask. Mike took a deep gasp.

“I have to catch you."

"What? You should thank me for saving your life!” Vincent interrupted in a curt tone. Mike also snorted in annoyance. But what Vincent said was true.

"You are still a murder suspect!" Mike insisted. Vincent shook his head.

“How long are you going to chase me? I'm not guilty. I wasn't the one who killed Donovan!" Vincent said, then walked past Mike. Mike then turned to follow him.

"Wait! If you don't kill, you shouldn't run!” Mike replied, walking quickly towards the SWAT car they had previously left behind.

“If I didn't run, you would all be dead!”

"What do you say?" Mike pulled Vincent's arm until he stopped walking. Vincent turned back to Mike, and they argued.
