Emily jumped out of the car, her face flush with outrage and disapproval.

"So this is Sparrow Beach?" she demanded as she grabbed her backpack and a few grocery bags from the back seat and locked the car.

"How did you even find out about that?" Natalie asked as they took the stairs to her floor.

"Norah made all of us pray for Jamie at the daily catch up, never mind that some of us are atheists." Emily rolled her eyes and carried on. "But when I checked you on the 'Find My' app and saw you all over the map, I knew something was up."

"So you cut work just to catch me in a lie?"

"Yep," Emily nodded. "I had to see for myself what sort of mischief or trouble you'd gotten yourself in."

Natalie unlocked her door and led her inside, irritated at the intrusion. She really should disable that app. But it was one of the rules in their companions' chat to always have it on because it was their way of looking out for each other, however passive.
