Chapter 98: Life of Ruby

As Ruby left her childhood home and headed towards her car, she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had been plaguing her for the past few days. It was a nagging sensation at the back of her mind, a feeling that something was not quite right.

She got into her car and turned on the engine, taking a deep breath before driving off. Her destination was a small café in town, where she was meeting with an old friend. They had known each other since they were kids, and they would often catch up over coffee whenever Ruby was in town.

As she drove, Ruby couldn't help but think about her mother and the strange behavior she had exhibited the other day.
