NOT OKAY
Luke stopped in his tracks when he saw a man just like June inside a cafe wiping tables. Luke walked towards the cafe window and watched.
To Luke's surprise, the man in the cafe was really June. Luke can't really forget that face. It was like a ghost to him. June's face haunted him everywhere. Luke opened the cafe door and stopped when June turned and saw him.
It had almost been a year since he got to see the ghost who haunted him in flesh.
Luke's heart dropped and it replaced with irritation when he saw June's smile drop. He saw June mutter something to the girl he was talking to and walked inside the kitchen.
Luke would never understand June. He wanted June to be with him and when he refused Luke started picking fights with him. He couldn't take the rejection well and was getting frustrated and flustered all the ti
HEART TO HEART "Sto-stop! It hurts!" June held on Samuel's wrist stopping him from applying the cotton dipped in antiseptic. Samuel frowned, "You have wound all over your face, it will get infected if we don't clean it up." "I need to say something!" June said. Samuel lowered his hand with raised eyebrows. "What?" "I need to move out." The words felt like harsh slaps from reality. Samuel watched June as he gave excuses. "I have been living off you for more than a year, and I have a good amount of savings too. I—" "No don't go," Samuel cut in. June stopped talking and blinked. "What?" June laughed, "I—" June stopped talking and looked at Samuel. He slowly realised, they were leaning towards each
REST ASSURE Samuel frowned when he had to press the password to get in the condo. He open the front door of their condo. To his surprise the condo was still dark. The lights turned on at the sound of Samuel's footsteps. Samuel remembered Lion was spending a night at the vet's. "June?" He called and looked around but he saw no sign of June. There wasn't his jacket on the couch or his shoes clumsily thrown on the doormat. A chill went down his spine as Samuel dropped the groceries and pulled out his phone. He dialed James' number. "Hello?" "James? Is June with you?" Samuel worriedly asked. "No," James sounded confused, "His shift ends early today so he left early."
WARRHOUSE MISHAP "This is the warehouse!" Samuel exclaimed and got out of the car. "Sam, wait!" James called, he turned back to look at Tina who was already loading a gun. "Why do you have that?" James asked. "Just go after, him!" she hissed. James quickly noddes and got out of the car. "Sam!" James jogged towards Samuel who was already inside the warehouse. "They are not here!" Samuel said with gritted teeth his frustration getting the better of him. The warehouse was empty expect for some chains tangled in a pile around the pole and a dark phone in front of it. Tina walked into he warehouse and picked up the phone. Samuel was still looking around. His loud heartbeats were all he would hear, blood pounded in his ears as he looked around. Hoping to find June with every corner he searched. "They are leaving for New York!" Tina shou
OLD MISSION [Host, welcome back to the Space. Do you want to go back to any mission you had failed before?] June thought about all the missions he had failed. He was still new to the system and as a rookie employee he had made lots of mistakes. However, there was one particular mission he had choose to fail willingly. He didn’t regret failing the mission. He had choose to fail it but it somehow left a bitter taste in his mouth as he left the world. June took in a deep breath trying to calm his nerves. He knew the supporting actor of that world did not deserve such an ending. And he wanted to see those dark eyes again. “I would like to go back to Ian Wang's mission.” [Yes, host. Collecting data of mission 4337.] [Data collected. Host, w
REJECTIONIt was a free period and like an ideal student, June Weng was using his time wisely.By staring at his sleeping seat partner– Ian Wang.It only felt like yesterday when June said to Venus he wanted to quit the mission so his death wouldn’t sadden Ian, when they fall in love. The mission was too cruel for him since Ian was the same age as him before June was bound to the system.June had always wondered why Ian looked so lonely. When June had went to Love Crop with an apology letter for failing this mission, he had checked up the soulmate list and saw that Ian and the original owner of the body were soulmates. After that he always wondered if he did the right thing by calling off the mission. He was still unsure about coming back to the mission but somehow guilt bit him when h
A CHOICE HE DIDN'T MAKE"He is mute!" Ian heard someone whisper loud enough for him to hear.A five year old Ian tighten his lips and continued playing with the Lego set."Oh! That's why he didn't talk to me no matter how much I called him!" A voice gasped."You better stay away from him!" Ian heard the chubby boy who always takes away his share of evening snacks warn, "If you stay with him, you will become mute like him!"Some girls gasped.Ian rolled my eyes.He don't know much but Ian remembered his mom had told him that a person's muteness can't be passed on one person to another.Plot twist, Ian is not mute.Ian just didn’t like talking with anyone. The kids in his kindergarten were loud and noisy and cry over small things. They were really stupid too.&nbs
NOTHING ALIKEIan flopped down on the couch and let out a sigh.Suddenly, the tapping on the laptop stopped."Hey, Ian?" He heard his sister's disembodied voice called."What?" He muttered, without looking at her."Is something bothering you?"Euphel asked, "I have never heard you sigh.""Just a long day," he muttered, and slowly got up from the couch wanting to get fresh and eat something."Well, okay but are you sure there is nothing wrong?" Euphel pressed again.Ian paused and looked back at her. Euphel was sitting on a armchair in her most ratty pj's with her laptop. His sister is a senior in college but she was on a gap year right now, so she is back home. He scowled at the empty chips wrappers surrounding her and looked at her
The next day when Ian walked inside the classroom, he noticed that his seat partner had not arrived yet. He frowned. Is he on leave again?Ian actually had no interest in other people's life, but he couldn't understand why June would take so many days off. They were in twelve grade and it is a very important year for them, after all they will be taking their board examination which will determine the college they can go to but from the way June skips classes, Ian wasn't sure if he will be able to learn anything in class and get a good result.Ian settled on his seat and eyed the part of his table and looked up at the teacher's table. The class monitor was arranging some books.Ian pressed his lips in a thin line, his hands were suddenly clammy at the sudden thought he had.Should he ask what is wrong with his seat partner? It's not the fi
Apollo's smiling face was the last thing June saw. When June opened his eyes he found himself standing in front of the entrance of a huge white building. He recognised the place, it was the head quarters of Love Crop. June stepped inside the building and looked around the huge lobby. People were buzzing all around. June looked at the couch were he first found himself sitting and sure enough there were couple of people looking dazed and confused. The Doves were prancing around in their white suit and seemed busy as usual. June walked through them and approached the Dove at the reception. The Dove was a tall lady with high cheek bones and a slicked back sliver ponytail. "Hi, I am June Weng—" The Dove typ
GOODBYEAnsel swiftly walked through the palace hallway and entered June’s study room unceremoniously.June was quietly discussing with a student about the new pills they were making. Both of them jolted in surprise when Ansel had barged in the room. Both of the herbalist bowed to the prince.“I want to talk with Dr.June alone,” Ansel said, looking at the scrawny boy who quickly nodded and walked out of the room in quick steps.June looked at Ansel with a waiting face.“Why do you want to resign?” Ansel asked.June shrugged.“I am tired of travelling. I miss my family and I have enough points to retire.”Ansel nodded. He and June were strangers but they were connected throu

He works in the same cooperation as you are in but is department is different.]“So, he is bounded to Heavenly Affairs,” Ansel stated, “What department does he works in?”[Yes, host. June Weng works under the unrequited love department.]Ansel was surprised. Things like this ever happened. COUPLE RINGSToday, was the day.June would feel it.He had been spending the last two days in the hospital with no improvement and according to his system's countdown, ten months was over. The body was going to die. However, June struggled against the growing heaviness. This morning, Ian had promised to come to him with the couple rings he had ordered for their marriage.[Host, the body's countdown has started. If you don't leave the body in five minutes you will be forcefully ejected from it.]"Venus, please do something,"June pleaded, "I will go willingly once Ian and I exchange our rings."[I am sorry host but if you do not leave the body the Reapers from Hades Inc. will take you in questioning and sue you, since it is against the pr
IN ANOTHER LIFEIan opened the hospital room and smiled at June who raised his head from his book."Hi," June said, with a smile. He closed the book and waited for Ian to settle down next to him."Hey," Ian said, and took June's hand.June titled his head at Ian and raised his eyebrow."I wanted to ask you something." Ian began slowly. At June's encouraging nod, Ian took in a deep breath."Marry me," Ian blurted out.Ian winced at his own bluntness. The words that he had practiced in front of the mirror were long forgotten.June looked at him with widen eyes. June was sure he misheard Ian. He had only a week before he will be forced out of this body, he wanted to spent all this time with Ian but what Ian said surprised him.
NEVER FORGETIt was raining. The loud chattering against the roof was somehow pleasant to listen to. Ian buried his nose under June's hair, they tickled his nose lightly but Ian hardly cared, as he breathed the watermelon like scent from his hair.June sighed softly and leaned closer to Ian, his back pressed against his chest. They were sitting on the floor wrapped in a blanket as they watched the rainfall."I wish we would stay like this forever." Ian softly muttered, against June's hair.June stiffened at Ian's words and turned his head to look at him. Those wide set of hazelnut eyes still manage to knocked Ian out of hid breath. Ian was still recovering from the sudden lose of the light smell of watermelon. His chest clenched painfully as he realized the impact
MARRIAGE PLANS"You want to what?" Alicia gaped at Ian.Ian shifted uncomfortably in his seat and avoided Alicia's eyes. He caught Jeremy's eyes who gave him a sympathetic smile, he gave him a quick one back."I want to marry him before, you know." Ian muttered.Alicia shook her head, "You two are minor and-""No one needs to know!" Ian said, "You know that June does not have enough time left. I will head off to college after some months. I-I want to do this!""This is like modern Romeo and Juliet." Alicia muttered, as she rubbed her chin."Please," Ian quietly said, "I love him. I-I don't know what to do anymore. I know he could go. Bu-but it feels too fast. I-" Ian choked back his words and looked down at his shoes."Ian," he heard Jeremy call his name softly. I
DANCE GONE WRONGIn a blink of an eye two months had passed, since June and Ian started dating.Every morning, Ian would catch the morning bus to met June in the hospital and as evening rolled in he would stay with June whistle doing his homework in the hospital room with him.Alicia and June ended their relationship on a good note and she often visited him too.Today, was a weekend and June was finally allowed to go home. He had asked Ian to come to his place.Ian was standing in front of a large mansion and ringed the bell.A butler opened the door and guided Ian through the staircase and towards a room with huge oak door.Inside, June was by the window reading.
