CHAPTER TWENTY- THREE

Today was already off to a bad start. Logan insisted that the new security team he hired drop Emily at the competition venue. Which Emily was not happy with, as she would stick out like a sore thumb.

“Madam, we are here?” Maria, the female bodyguard, informed Emily.

“Okay, don’t wait for me,” Emily said

“My orders are to wait for you, ma’am,” Maria responded.

“Well, you can’t hang around here. You would make people nervous,” Emily argued as she picked her phone from the bag to call Logan.

“Tell the security detail to back off,” Emily hissed into the phone.

“Emily, we have been over this. It’s for your own safety,” Logan drawled.

“Well, I won’t be able to concentrate with them hovering over me. And I know how lucky I am to be able to take part in this competition. Don’t ruin this for me. Call them off.” Emily complained.
