187 Saint and sinner

"You are quiet and I'm losing my mind here", said Dane.

"I don't know what to say as usual you threw a curve ball at me. Why say it now?", I asked him.

"Because I have to be honest with you. You have consented to be my wife. Unlike the last time I didn't want to take the choice away from you", he said.

"Choice of what?", I asked absently.

"Choice of whether to be my bride or not", he said.

"You think there is a choice for me? You used to say that choice is an illusion. I think you are right", I told him.

"Don't say that. I'm a despicable and cynical asshole but even I wouldn't dare to corrupt you. You are far too pure for me to even touch", he said.

I closed my eyes briefly. He sounds almost poetic. When I close my eyes and listen to him. It was like reading Shakespeare or Shelly. I was calmed and instantly soothed of my miseries. He couldn't have a father so cruel who could order the death of his son and his wife.

"Why say this now with only a week left for our wedding", I told him.
