Xavier’s POV

Lucas.

The name alone left a bitter taste in my mouth.

We always knew of him. The Alpha of the Golden Corral Pack, a man of power and influence, a leader respected across multiple territories. But despite his reputation, very few had ever seen him in person. He was as much a myth as he was a man—silent, calculating, and impossible to pin down.

And now, out of nowhere, he suddenly appears, claiming to be Mia’s twin brother?

No.

Something wasn’t right.

I leaned back against the leather chair in the study, fingers tapping against the armrest, watching my brothers as they sat around the table. Rolex was pacing, clearly restless, while Nathan sat stiffly, arms crossed, his usual cocky expression replaced with something dangerous. Sean, as always, was silent, but the tension in his shoulders told me he was thinking the same thing as the rest of us.

“This feels wrong,” I finally said, breaking the silence.

Nathan let out a scoff. “Everything about him is wrong.”

Rolex stopped pa

Too late.He told me he was going to follow Lucas, and I let him go, thinking he could handle himself. But now? Hours had passed, and there was no word from him. No calls. No texts. And Xavier wasn’t the type to disappear.A deep unease settled in my gut, my instincts screaming at me.Something had happened.I pushed off the couch, grabbing my jacket and heading for the door. Nathan and Sean were in the living room, both tense, their eyes flickering to me the second I moved.Sean frowned. “Where are you going?”I didn’t hesitate. “Xavier’s missing.”Nathan scoffed, leaning back against the wall. “He’s Xavier. He probably got into an argument with Mia and needed time to cool off.”I didn’t have the patience for this. “No. He followed Lucas, and now he’s gone.”That wiped the smirk off Nathan’s face.Sean stood immediately, his brows fu

I wasn’t in the mood for whatever nonsense they were about to spill.“We need to talk,” Nathan said, with a serious face.I flipped a page. “We don’t, actually.”Sean stepped closer. “It’s about Xavier and Rolex.”I stilled for a split second but quickly masked it. “What about them?”“They’re missing,” Nathan said. His usual cocky tone was gone. “They followed Lucas. They never came back.”A bitter laugh slipped out. “So? Maybe they finally realized I don’t want them hovering over me and left.”Sean clenched his jaw. “Mia, we’re serious.”“So am I.” I snapped my book shut and stood, crossing my arms. “You expect me to believe that they just disappeared? Convenient, isn’t it? Right when I finally have something good in my life, you two show up, trying to drag me back into your mess?”Nathan exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. “Damn it, Mia, list

His voice was too calm, too practiced. “Our blood carries healing properties for each other. It’s rare, but it’s something passed down through our lineage.”I stared at him.Lie.I would’ve known about something like that. Damon would have mentioned it. My uncle would have told me.But I didn’t call him out on it. Not yet.Instead, I forced a small nod, pretending to consider it. “I’ve never heard of that before.”Lucas smiled, but I saw the flicker of something behind his eyes—relief. He thought I believed him.Good.“Not many do,” he said, turning away slightly. “It’s a secret kept within the family.”A secret. Convenient.I looked down at his wound, the blood still fresh. “I don’t know if it’ll work,” I said cautiously. “But I can try.”He immediately held out his arm, expectant.I bit the inside of my cheek.Desperate.Why was he so despera

Innocent. Like I wasn’t onto him.“Good,” he said smoothly. “I was thinking we could go out today. Just us.”I fought the urge to tense. He wanted me alone. Not happening.Instead, I tilted my head, pretending to think. “Actually… can we talk first?”Lucas raised a brow. “About?”I hesitated, biting my lip. “Our parents.”He stilled—just for a second. Then he recovered, giving me an easy smile. “Of course. "This is what the mighty Alphas have been reduced to?" Lucas scoffed. "Beaten, caged, and now one of them is already out of the game? Pathetic."I forced my muscles to remain loose, my pulse controlled."He’s still breathing," Rolex muttered, voice tight with tension. Mia's POV"You've been the best Luna this pack could've ever asked for." My father's voice held pride, the kind that made my chest ache and bloom all at once.I looked up at him from across his desk, seated where I once sat in trouble for skipping training. But today, I wasn't his rebellious daughter—I was a woman, a Luna. "Thank you, Dad," I said softly. "That means everything coming from you." And it does. After everything we've been through, after all the fights and tears and misunderstandings, to have his approval feels like winning a battle I've fought my entire life.He smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "But, Mia… you need to think about your future too."My heart sank slightly, brows knitting. "What do you mean?" I thought this was my future. Being Luna, taking care of the pack, loving my mates. Isn't that enough? Will I ever be enough? He leaned back in his chair, fingers lacing. "All your mates are back to work. Their titles, their responsibilities. You? You've given thi

This feeling of being surrounded, protected, desired—I'll never get used to it. Never take it for granted. Not when I spent so long feeling unwanted.Sean's arm was locked around my waist like he thought someone might steal me away overnight. Cute. Even in sleep, he's possessive. The boy who once terrorized me now can't bear to let me go, even while unconscious. Life has a twisted sense of humor.Xavier's breath stirred the strands of my hair as he shifted behind me, his leg hooked over mine. My body was bare under the covers, and not a single inch of me felt cold. I was tucked between two overprotective wolves like their personal treasure chest. Their heat radiates into me, through me. I used to sleep alone, cold and curled into myself. Now I can barely move without touching one of them. And I was a treasure. A spoiled, kissed, claimed one. Somet

MIA'S POVMonths had passed since the battle with Keith, but the scars—both seen and unseen—remained. Yet, I had won.Not just the fight. Not just my life.I had won myself. For the first time in forever, I was at peace.I stood before the werewolf world, my silver gown flowing in the wind, my white wolf aura glowing softly around me. The night sky stretched endlessly above, the full moon shining like a proud mother watching over her child."The Moon Queen."The title was whispered with reverence, spoken with respect.I had proven myself. Not just as a white wolf. Not just as a Luna. But as a leader. The packs had united under my rule, their loyalty unwavering. They no longer feared me; they believed in me.And for the first time… I believed in myself, too.The brothers stood before me, their expressions nervous yet hopeful.Months ago, I would have laughed at the thought of forgiving them. But now?I exhaled slowly, looking at each of them. MIA’S POVThe moment my eyes snapped open, the battlefield fell into a stunned silence. Power surged through my veins like wildfire, alive, untamed, unstoppable. My body felt weightless, yet I had never been stronger. Every inch of me pulsed with the raw energy of the White Wolf.Keith’s expression twisted in disbelief, his hands clenched into fists. “No… This—this can’t be happening!” His voice wavered, but I saw the truth in his eyes—fear.I tilted my head, stepping forward with deliberate slowness. “You should be proud, Keith.” A smirk tugged at my lips. “If you hadn’t stabbed me, I wouldn’t have awakened.”His face turned red with fury. With a snarl, he lifted his hands. Dark energy crackled at his fingertips. The ground trembled. Shadows twisted unnaturally. The stench of death filled the air.I turned just as an army of demon rogues emerged from the darkness, their eyes glowing red, their bodies twisted by corrupted magic. Their growls rumbled through the battlefield, sending a

I could hear my name—frantic, desperate voices calling out to me—but they felt so far away, like echoes in a void.I wasn't in the dungeon anymore.I wasn’t anywhere at all.A soft glow surrounded me, warm and comforting, like the moonlight on a peaceful night. And then, from that glow, she appeared. My wolf. No—not just my wolf. She was beautiful, ethereal. Skin as white as snow, long flowing hair the color of the full moon, eyes like the endless night sky. A presence so divine, so powerful, I immediately knew. The Moon Goddess.I tried to speak, but my voice wouldn’t come out. I wasn’t afraid, though. Her gaze held nothing but kindness, her expression serene."You’ve suffered, my child," she finally spoke, her voice like a melody carried by the wind. "Far more than I ever intended."I swallowed, feeling a lump in my throat. Everything I’d been through flashed before me—every wound, eve

MIA’S POVI glared at Keith, my patience snapping as he paced before us like some grand villain in a pathetic play. His voice was thick with arrogance, dripping with the delusion of a man who thought the world owed him everything.“My father,” he sneered, “was the rightful heir to the Alpha title. But your father stole it from him. Stole what should have been ours.”I tilted my head, unimpressed. “Let me guess,” I muttered, crossing my arms. “And now you’re here to reclaim your birthright? Oh, Keith, how tragic. Such a sad little story. I might cry.”His face darkened. His jaw clenched so tightly, I thought he might break his own teeth.“You mock me?” His voice dropped to something colder, more dangerous.I scoffed. “Mocking implies I take you seriously. But I don’t. Because you sound like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum over something that was never yours to begin with.”A dangerous flicker lit up in his eyes. “You think this is a joke?”I stepped forward, unbothered by the threat

Mia’s POVI was halfway to the dungeon when my steps faltered. The heavy scent of blood still lingered in the air, the thick stench wrapping around me like a warning. Something felt off. Then I saw him.Lucas.He was being dragged into the shadows, his body limp, his usually sharp eyes dulled with exhaustion. His lips moved, barely, but I caught it.Don’t.A silent command. A plea.My entire body tensed. Every instinct screamed at me to run after him, to tear through whoever had him in their grasp. But I didn’t.I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms. The frustration burned like acid in my veins, but Lucas had signaled me for a reason. Rushing in blindly would only get me captured, too.I needed a plan.Spinning on my heel, I turned and sprinted toward the main hall, heart pounding wildly. My mind raced through every possible scenario. Who the hell had the guts to take Lucas? Keith’s men? Another enemy? No. I couldn’t let my thoughts spiral. Focus. I still had the tracker.L

LUCAS’S POVThe moment I stepped into the room, I knew something big had happened. The air was thick with tension, the scent of anger and relief clashing in a way that made my wolf restless. My eyes landed on Mia first. She stood at the center of it all, arms crossed, chin lifted, looking every bit like a leader. Strong, untouchable. But I knew her better than that. I could see the exhaustion in her stance, the tightness in her jaw."What the hell happened?" My voice was sharp, demanding answers.Mia’s gaze flicked to me, unreadable for a second before she spoke. "We caught the bastard who tried to poison our father."I stilled. "Our father?" The words felt strange on my tongue.Mia nodded, her expression hard. "He would have died if we hadn’t stopped him in time."My chest burned. I had barely had time to know the man, to understand him, and already someone had tried to take him from me. MIA'S POVEverything had gone exactly as planned.I stood there, watching the traitor tremble, the weight of his failure sinking into his bones. He still hadn’t spoken, but it didn’t matter—he would.Because this was my trap. The fight. The chaos. My father’s supposed helplessness. Every single part of it had been orchestrated—and he walked straight into it.I glanced at the brothers, who were still catching up to the reality of the situation. They hadn’t known either.Their fight had been real, but it wasn’t their own doing.I had set them up too. Because I want it to look real, though I told them to fight but I didn't tell the reason. Their argument had been the perfect distraction, drawing everyone’s attention—including the spy’s.I crossed my arms, a slow smirk curling my lips as I turned my gaze back to the traitor. "You thought you were smart, didn’t you?" My voice was soft, almost mocking. "Thought you could just walk in, finish what you started, and leave without a trace."His
