CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

"Why did you stay out so late?" He finally asked.

Mary felt a bit offended, why did he care anyways?

"I was out partying with my friend, I lost track of time" she managed to say.

Adonis nodded his head while still studying her.

"You should not stay out late, it's not good for a lady"

Mary nodded her head and started making her way upstairs again when he called her again. She turned to look at him.

He opened his mouth to say something, and then he had it clamped again.

"Never mind, you can go".

Mary left his presence without much hesitation, she needed to get away from his piercing gaze anyways. Somehow the way he looked at her made her feel like he had recognized her earlier. But if he had, he should have said something about it right, that meant he didn't.

Mary was too exhausted to change into her night clothes, so she just slept in her clothes. She just barely took off her shoes and tied her hair together to prevent it from scattering all over her face while
