Anna/Linda POV

My father looked astounded.

“I thought you don’t want it anymore?”

I nodded.  “I still do. But you needed me, Daddy.  I will hold the fort until one of my siblings, Colter or Isabella, is ready to take over from me.”

“Colter is…” My dad spreads his arms wide in helplessness, his mind groping for the right word to describe my brother.

“Happy-go-lucky.” I supply for him.

“Do you think it was because you put all your faith in me? Colter could be King. You only needed to believe in him.”

Anna/ Linda POVAfter my discussion with Flint, my father called an impromptu meeting. We had to leave the care of Penelope to Briana to be able to attend. Penelope squealed when she saw her cousins. She ran to them, ignoring us. “Take care of my daughter, sis.” Flint reminded her. Briana snorted. She turned a little to eye Penelope, running toward her cousins to make sure she did not trip on her way. “Of course. Penelope is our little Queen.” She kidded.“Good luck!” Briana called out before closing the door to their suite.“Let’s go?” I asked Flint, and we walked together to the meeting room, Of course, I am bringing Flint with me. Me, taking the crown would affect his life, too. I wanted to get his two cents worth on the table and see how we can work out our lives around this recent development. When the royal guard announced our arrival, I was surprised to see familiar faces. People who had been part of my father’s administration as he ran the country. My brother, Colter,

Anna/Linda POVI stepped closer to Flint, stopping until only a few inches separated us. Then, I tilted my head to gaze up at him warmly."You were awesome." My voice sounds breathy, and I bit my lip right after realizing that. Flint expelled a huge breath, but he was smiling indulgently at me. His eyes filled with adoration as he caressed my blond hair. "That was no idle talk. I only said what was in my heart."I nodded, leaning close to his chest when he pulled me close. "I am nervous." He admitted. "It didn't show. You were magnificent when you defended my brother." "We were boys once. I also needed to carve a path different from my brothers, but...." his voice trailed off. "You don't have to explain. I understand. We all wanted to be uniquely recognized for our special abilities, away from the shadow of people's expectations."“When I was living here, all I knew was that I was Anna Peterson, the crown princess of Arkadia. Moving to Redwood made me realize I am more than the

Flint POV“We will announce your engagement tomorrow night.” King Henry told us when we gathered at the dinner table. The announcement came unexpectedly, but what surprised us was the 360 shift in his demeanor toward my family. He was more warm and acceptable than the first time we shared a meal with him. He was smiling, too. I guess it was because the rift between him and Anna had been repaired. “Are we going to have a party, Daddy?” Isabella asked. Her eyes shone in excitement. “Is Lord Anthony going to be invited?” Her voice took on a dreamy tone, and Anna gave her a warning look. Isabella pursed her lips at Anna. Then, she quickly zipped her mouth when chastened by my wife. They looked cute. The interaction between them speaks of sibling affection and respect. “Your sister has a crush,” I commented while my hand caressed her back. “She is sixteen, for P*te’s sake.” Anna hissed at me. “So? I bet you had your first crush at that age.” “Flint!” She was trying to quell my

Flint POVThe succeeding days were a blur. Anna introduced me to everyone. We did the rounds of their country’s media network announcing our marriage and Anna’s official coronation. There had been so many interviews that I felt like a frog in an experiment. It might be because I do not have any title, and they treat me as a commoner in this country. They dissected my motives as if I was going to betray their next Queen. But who cares? Certainly not me. As long as I have my family and I can be with my wife, everything will be fine. Together, Anna and I can conquer everything. But while I was so sure of myself, my wife felt dubious. One night, she asked me, “Are you regretting? Are you having second thoughts?” That was the time I complained of tiredness. We had a day-long engagement and I barely had time to breathe. Our schedule was more hectic than when I was running one of our corporations. I became silent, giving myself time to mull on her words. I checked myself. Am I hav

  • SORRY DEAR EX, IT'S YOUR LOSS, NOT MINE   Author's Note

Hello my loves, Like what I always do after concluding my previous stories, I am leaving a note to thank all of you for completing the fourth installment to the story Sorry Dear Ex, It’s Your Loss Not Mine. You are all amazing up to this point. I was overwhelmed by how well you received Flint, Anna/Linda and Penelope (Kwin) as part of your daily reading habit.Unlike Marcus and Rowan, whose stories were already assured because I already gave them a foreground on the main story, Flint’s story came out unexpectedly. My fourth installment was a toss between him and Brent, but I read your comments and many of you suggested including both, so the story of Flint began. But who would be his partner? Then, an idea came. Why not use Linda since she had become part of the story?I could not believe that one or two readers commented on wanting to read about Linda’s story, so it cinched! Flint and Linda’s story will be the fourth installment. That got me super excited, I tell you. Flint’

Book Five: Brent's Story Brent POV“Congratulations!” I extended my hand for a handshake, but Flint pulled me for a hug. It was his wedding day, and he was smiling happily at everyone. During the ceremony, I saw him take out his handkerchief to dab at his eyes. Still, before he put it back into the front pocket of his pants, he interrupted the ceremony, pulling at Anna’s veil to wipe her tears, too. The crowd gathered at the Basilica de Arkadia to witness this historical event, especially the women, swooned. A collective gasp was heard in the entire hall, but the couple seemed oblivious. They were lost in each other to factor in their surroundings. That moment, I believe, won him the hearts of Arkadian. If they doubted his intentions for marrying their newly installed Queen. Now, they expressed praise for my friend. We all witnessed his devotion to his wife. He was willing to play second fiddle as she assumed her post. If it were some other weakling, his pride could not take

Brent’s POV“You are such a pompous ass!” Beth Delaney, my ex-wife, hit me several times on the chest after her visitor bade us goodnight. He must have loved being the fifth wheel because the man stayed through dinner despite the fact that my daughter and I ignored him.“You are so rude to Dr. Roberts.” Beth declared angrily.I smiled gleefully, remembering how Krizzie’s attention was all on me. She ignored my ex-wife’s visitor all through dinner, and right after, we opened the presents I brought from Arkadia. She was so excited. My happiness was punctured by another blow from Beth. I raised my arm to deflect, but other than that, I let her hit me to vent out. It was better than the polite way she used to treat me. Except for my stolen kisses, which she reciprocated wholeheartedly, this was the first time Beth exploded at me after our divorce. “And what do you want me to do? Lay out the red carpet for your boy? No way!” I shot back, which made her flinched. “He’s not my boy. H

How did you court your wives?” I asked the Ford brothers and Noah as we gathered around the mini-bar.I was holding a shot glass in hand, drunk as f*ck, but still lucid enough to know what I wanted to say.It was my desperation talking, seeking answers. I had never courted anyone. The Ford brothers, Charles, Rowan, Marcus, and Noah Hunter, looked at me as if I had grown another head.Noah spit out his drink. It was a good thing he was able to think quickly and let his shot glass catch everything, or he would have splashed it all over us.&nb

Speechless! This word best describes what I was feeling right now. Do you know that you were amazing readers? Yes, you who stayed with me until this page. When I first started writing this story, I had so many trepidations. I did not think I would be able to pull this through. First, it has a little similarity to my previous novel, Billionaire Ex Wants Me Back, but my editor believed so much in my draft that she encouraged me to consider doing this. (My heartfelt thanks to Lyra Pinter, who had been a constant source of support.)My feeling of uncertainty magnified when I received so many attacks when the story was first published. Too many detractors lashed out at my characters that I had a hard time concentrating.I know what I wanted to do, but the first people who were vocal about the story did not give me enough encouragement. They did not give my characters a chance to redeem themselves as the story progresses. Fear grips me everytime I face the blank screen of my computer.

  • SORRY DEAR EX, IT'S YOUR LOSS, NOT MINE   Chapter 472. Epilogue

Briana’s POVThe soul always knows how to heal itself. I had often heard that phrase before but it was never more gratingly obvious til now. After I volunteered to be Charles and Jenna’s surrogate, I had not counted on the pain the act would invariably inflict on me. At the start, it was all too easy. For 40 weeks, I would be carrying their baby in my womb, and that was it. Jenna and Charles will have that baby they desperately wanted. Of course, Noah and I submitted to counseling before I did this, but I never expected that when the time came that I had to turn over baby Amira to her parents, it would hit me so hard. I had not counted on how my self-sacrifice would backfire on me. It hurts so much. I was so heartbroken when I realized that Amira would no longer be a part of my life. Noah took me to several sessions of counseling, and with his support, I was able to get past the hurt and accept that Amira was not mine. The rest of the family helped. My brothers hovered over me

  • SORRY DEAR EX, IT'S YOUR LOSS, NOT MINE   Author's Note

Hello my loves, Jenna and Charles’ story was one of the most painful stories I had written so far. It was because I had to dig up long-forgotten events in my life. But I had to do it for you to be able to understand the motives behind Jenna and Charles’ actions and the pain they invariably inflicted on each other. Jenna and Charles were both non confrontational. They keep things in stride and hope for the best, but sometimes even with the best intentions, our pain could not lay hidden for too long. It needed to be addressed and voiced out, not because you wanted to lash out at your partner or give them the same pain they were giving you.Sometimes, our silence is our cry for help. Or it was a way to protect ourselves. We retreated into the inner recesses of our soul to find solace and comfort because the people we expected to comfort and provide solace for us could not hear our cry for help. But all’s well that ends well. Am glad for those people who had requested me to do a story
