"You or even me. I can’t figure you out, Damian, and I’m tired of trying. I’ve tried to be strong and undemanding, but I can’t do it anymore. I’m scared to death. I don’t know who I am. I wake up one day to find myself pregnant, and there’s a stranger by my bed who says he is my husband. One would think this would tell me that at least I was loved and cherished, but nothing you have done has made me feel anything but confusion. You run hot and cold, and I never know which one to expect. I can’t do this.”
