Hana’s heart raced as she sifted through the final drawer in Jarrel’s study, her hands trembling slightly. Nothing. Almost one hour had passed and still, there was no hint of Jarrel’s maps or documents; she could feel herself panting in this room filled up with too much leather and little air so that she couldn’t hardly breathe.

Her heart raced as the sound of a ticking clock kept on nagging at her mind reminding her this was an instance too late

Hearing creaking sounds behind her made her stop still

“Wonder what my mate is doing in my study behind my back,” said Jarrel’s deep clear voice cutting through the current air as if it were one sharp blade

Hana turned slowly towards him, her heartbeat quickening but unable to find words to make sense of what was going on in his curious yet amusing eyes though they seemed to hide something dark inside them.
