The sanctuary was cautiously optimistic in the aftermath of Lucien's defeat. The instant danger was defeated, but remnants of sinister magic still hung in the air, serving as a constant reminder that the battle was still ongoing. As the sun rose higher in the sky, Xander grew anxious, his mind filled with thoughts of what would happen next.

Xander observed the new recruits practicing combat under Alden's supervision from the outskirts of the training area.

He respected their dedication, their readiness to stand up for a purpose bigger than their individual selves.

However, he was unable to rid himself of the suspicion that something was wrong. Defeating Lucien seemed too simple, almost like a forewarning of an impending malevolent event.
