The Secondary Starlyn Manor of Lord Oskar stood before me as the driver helped me out of the limo. I was relieved to see no paparazzi around. Surprised at this, I began to ask Serena about it as we walked up the vast marble steps to the porch.

Though as I turned my neck I noticed Serena was unusually pale, even for a vampire. The driver, carrying our bags, followed us and opened the heavy wooden doors. The driver held the door open, allowing us inside the vast manor. I was frozen at the entryway, looking at the manor and its beauty.

“Here we are, my Lady-Luna.” the driver said as he put down our bags. I thanked the blonde vampiric driver, who left us quickly.

“Farewell, Nicholas.” Serena said, her voice warm. I realized I hadn’t asked his name, and Serena smiled briefly as she muttered. “Nicholas is sweet, and we can trust him.” Serena added as I felt bad for not asking his name before he left.

Entering the manor, I felt a mix of awe and apprehension. It resembled the Greco-Roman design of the one I shared with Luis. As the doors closed behind us with a loud bang from the driver leaving, I noticed how oddly empty this place seemed.

“Serena, I wonder where everyone is off to?” I asked, as this place felt empty as I eyed the marble statues before me.

“It's near dinner time, so probably in the kitchen.” Serena said softly.

“This place is stunning,” I muttered, turning toward Serena. I noticed Serena, fidgeting with her green plaid overshirt.

“Serena, are you okay?” I asked, touching my assistant’s arm as I put my free hand on my swollen stomach, feeling the twins move wincing at their kicks.

Serena's pale green eyes darted around the room as she nodded, but she was hiding something. I cursed myself for not establishing a mind-link earlier; now, my previous one as Luna and Lady of the Primary Manor was nullified.

“Shall I announce your arrival, my Lady-Luna?” Serena asked, changing the topic. Before I could respond, a soft male Australian-accented voice interrupted us.

“Now, Madame Serena, That is my job." The male voice said, causing us to turn toward him.

The soft voice belonged to a 6 foot 4 man wearing a tailored black Prada Butler suit. He stood before us, his hands clasped behind his back, his hazel eyes honing in on us as if we were prey.

“Oh, yes, of course, Winston,” Serena said, moving behind me as I made note to remember this mans name.

The man named Winston nodded and moved toward us. As I stood my ground I felt the twins kick and soothed them by rubbing my belly stationed in front of Serena, unsure why she was intimidated by this place.

“Winston, is it?” I asked, breaking the silence as I noticed that even his light blond hair was slicked back to his ears to perfection, and not a single hair was out of place.

“Yes, my Lady-Luna. I am the master butler of this manor.” Winston replied bowing slightly to me.

I curtsied gracefully, following the training I had received from Luis’s mother, Priscilla, the former Lady of the Manor. Serena followed suit, her movements mirroring mine with practiced elegance giving the proper greeting in the Starlyn Vampire Colony.

“Millicent Jonquilla Birchwood, the former Lady-Luna of the Primary Manor.” I introduced myself, my voice steady and clear.

“And this is Madam Serena Tamarah Quill, handmaiden to me.” I said quickly to ensure Serena's safety.Winston bowed slightly in acknowledgment, his expression respectful.

“Welcome, Lady Birchwood and Madam Quill. It is an honor to have you both here with me. Please allow me to show you your rooms.”

As we followed Winston through the grand hallways, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with apprehension. Looking back, I see Serena walking close behind me, her earlier nervousness still evident. I glanced back at her, offering a reassuring smile.

“We will be fine, Serena. This place may be new, but we are together.” I said softly.

Serena nodded, her pale green eyes reflecting a hint of relief. “Thank you, my Lady_Luna." She whispered quickly as Winston led us to a set of double doors.

Pausing, Winston turned to us. “This will be your room, Lady-Luna Birchwood. Madam Quill’s room is adjacent, should you need anything.” he said as he opened the doors to reveal a beautifully furnished suite.

The large guest suite was adorned with rich fabrics and antique furniture, exuding elegance and history. The room featured a king-sized bed with a canopy, a sitting area with plush chairs, and a large window that offered a stunning view of the manor’s gardens.

“Thank you, Winston.” I said, stepping into the room. The decor was elegant, with rich fabrics and antique furniture representing the manor’s history.

"Of course, and The Lord has requested you join him for Dinner this evening. Shall I come fetch you within an hour for Dinner?" Winston as I smiled.

"Yes, please." I said as Winston bowed and left us to close the door behind him.

Serena began to unpack for me as I sat on the large king bed relieved Winston was gone now.

“I still never get used to the vampire courts, even being six months pregnant,” I said, feeling the twins move around as I sat on the bed. Serena barely spoke, using her vampiric speed to unpack, which worried me.

“Serena, please tell me what’s going on. I can sense something is off.”

Serena hesitated for a moment before speaking in a hushed tone.

“Nothing at all. I am just aware some people may LISTEN to us changing soon." Serena said as she got two dresses from the bags, turned to me, and looked around the room.

“Why would anyone listen in on us changing?” I asked, picking up on what she trying to say with her emphasis on certain words.

“Oh, Lord Oskar does an amazing job with the warriors. Lord Luis allowed him to put the barracks here. You know how NOSY the warriors can be, which is why WINSTON keeps them in check along with the warrior SQUAD LEADERS, who keep them in check. Now, do you want to wear your pink gown or blue?” Serena asked, holding the gowns she had picked up for me.

I realized she was trying to communicate something crucial without directly saying it.

“The blue gown, I think,” I replied, playing along. “It’s more comfortable.” I said, playing along.

Serena nodded, her eyes meeting mine with a silent understanding.

“Good choice, my Lady-Luna. I’ll get it ready for you.” As she continued preparing the dress, I couldn’t shake the feeling that more was happening with everything, so I decided to drop the conversation and follow Serena's lead.

"Do you mind helping me change? I asked as Serena looked at me, already holding a gorgeous blue gown from my old fall collection from the manor and smiling at it.

The gown was made from soft, flowing silk in a rich blue sapphire. It featured a classic V-neckline and an empire waistline, which sits just below the bust, allowing the fabric to drape gracefully over the baby bump. The waistline is accentuated with a simple satin ribbon.

I rubbed my large pregnant stomach as I quickly undressed and let Serena dress me. As she altered the gown to fit my bump and added the satin shawl over my shoulders, I smiled at Serena. I turned in the mirror and was happy with it.

"Where did you send the movers?' asked, wondering about our stuff as the original plan was to go to one of the neutral zones.

"I sent them here. I am sure butler Winston has been making up a suite for you to move into." Serena said. I felt anxiety build up as I heard her finish lacing up the corset part of my gown.

"Thank you, Serena; I'll do my hair and makeup, and you can get dressed." Serena nodded as I moved slowly and got into my purse. I did a simple pink lip and nude makeup and re-did my messy up-do.

As I finished, Serena appeared in a simple blue matching gown from the bathroom attached to my guest suit.

"What do you think, my Lady-Luna?" Serena asked me, smiling for the first time since we arrived.

"Gorgeous, do you mind helping me put on my flats? The baby makes it hard to reach my feet." I said, watching Serena nod and use her vampiric speed to help me put on my flats. She helped me to my feet, straightening out my gown, when we heard a knock at the door.

As Serena stood up and straightened the skirt of her dark blue, sleeveless A-line gown, I couldn’t help but admire how gracefully it hugged her curvy frame.

Serena moved to open the door, and there stood Winston, who bowed deeply. Serena responded with a curtsey, both standing after the formal greeting.

“Dinner is served. May I guide you to the dining area?” Winston asked as

I rose from my seat and offered a curtsey of my own to Winston.

"Yes, we are ready. Please guide us.” I replied.

Winston nodded and led the way through the grand corridors of the manor. I marveled at the timeless beauty of our surroundings, with the soft glow of candlelight casting dancing shadows on the walls and the rich tapestries and antique furnishings adding an air of elegance and history to the space.

Walking from the first-floor guest rooms, our footsteps echo softly in the vast hall. The scent of freshly prepared food wafted through the air, growing stronger as we approached the dining hall.

“Announcing Lady-Luna Millicent Birchwood and her Handmaiden Madame Serena Quill.” Winston said, moving to the side to reveal Lord Oskar at the head of the long, ornate oak table set with exquisite china and gleaming silverware in the vast, warmly lit room.

As Winston bowed, I curtseyed with Serena, then stood back up, my eyes locking with Lord Oskar.

Lord Oskar stood up from his seat, revealing his imposing 6-foot-2 frame. His athletic build rippled beneath his tailored white button-up shirt; the first few buttons were undone, showing a hint of dark chest hair and a tattoo partially hidden by the fabric. He smiled a devilish grin, his fangs glinting in the light, as he extended a large hand to us.

“Come, sit.” he said in his deep Mediterranean accent; he rumbled into the room, stroking his bristled chin. I shivered slightly as I moved to my seat.

I noticed Lord Oskar extending a muscled, heavily tattooed arm to a nearby servant and snapping his fingers. The servants moved quickly to pull out our chairs next to him.

They pushed it in as I took my seat, bringing me close to the Lord and his ocean-like energy. Lord Oskar slicked back his shoulder-length, curly, honey-blonde hair, then smiled at me and took my hand, kissing the top of it. I felt my stomach flop, unsure if it was

the twins or the beauty of the man before me.

“Finally, my soon-to-be wife and I meet.” Lord Oskar said, his blue-green eyes locking onto mine as I felt my heart skip a beat, finally meeting the man behind the legend as I pulled away my hand quickly, placing it on my stomach to protect myself from someone who for as much I knew could be the devil in disguise.
