CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX

UNEXPECTED BETRAYAL…

After watching Lilliana slowly drift off to sleep in his bed, Damon left the penthouse to go find his best friend. Trusting the hotel's security with the girl's safety, he got in his car and drove to one of his many warehouses. To his luck, the new lead hadn't turned out to be a dead end like many before it were.

Jackson had taken a few of his men to do a follow up and upon their return, had managed to bring back with them a couple of Russian men that were seen lurking around the Barnette's residence in the days following the night of the fire. Pulling up outside the seemingly old abandoned build, Damon jumped out of his car and jogged up the small flight of stairs toward the entrance.

“Where is he??” He asked one of the men guarding the premises about his friend's whereabouts, as soon as he sat foot inside.
