Seline! Seline!! Seline!!!
She jerked up from the bed at the sound of her morning alarm (her mother’s voice) frowning at the reality of her life, it was just 5 am for heaven’s sake, but She has got to get her younger siblings ready for school and prepare to face what the day has for her.
“Kachi come wear your socks” She called out to the youngest of her siblings; Kachi is a 10 years old fun-to-be-with yet very inquisitive child, he was very outspoken and observant unlike his older sister Amanda. Amanda is her 16-year-old sister who just wrote her WAEC (West African Examination Council) and thinks that the world is an open sky for all birds to fly, so she also thought too but not anymore since life served her a portion of its delicacy.
She had just two siblings and I wanted them to have the best of everything She didn’t, but isn’t that one of her many wishes?
Whew!! Finally done with her morning routine and time to start her job hunt, she thought to herself but today she’s gonna do it online. Going through job sites like a hunter ready to shoot her shot at any opportunity, but the buzzing of her phone distracted her. It was Lya my childhood friend calling.
Hi Lya, “ babe you dey free to get urgent 2k,” Lya said in pidgin English
“Yes oo your babe pocket dry like harmattan breeze dey blow” she replied quickly
“Okay, I dey come,” she quickly ended the call and started getting ready for the emergency job of replacing an event usher who wasn’t available.

“Guy nah you dey hot oh,” his manager said still in the euphoria of happiness of the fact that his song was the no 1 top trending music on various streaming platforms.
“You know how we do it, right?” he bragged, however, he needed to take a nap, he wasn’t just tired but exhausted from all the shows he had to perform in and yesterday’s concert was not an exception as he pulled the crowd with him with this energetic performance, the show of love was massive and it was his booster. However, there was more on my list and he needed rest before I go for today’s performance.
As he laid down and allowed himself to drift into a deep sleep, it wasn’t too long after he had just closed his eyes that he heard someone call his mane,
Sweet baby! Sweet love!
He heard someone call out again, but it sounded distant and got louder as his sleepy eyes opened and he became wide awake.
“please tell me I am dreaming, not again!” he wanted to shout in frustration, he have had enough stress for the week and doesn’t have the stamina to stand another, not from his girlfriend Mandy or should I say friends with benefits.
Ooh, my baby! She cooed at him like she was talking to an actual baby, but he was already used to her tricks. She wanted something and he knew it, “she was just like everyone of them”
“Mandy can you stop I need to sleep”, he said calmly
But he was talking to himself as she was still busy touching his dreadlocks and taking out invisible dirt.
“Okay, Mandy please just go home I’ll send you some money for your shopping”, he said in a calmer tone as he was already irritated by her presence.
She squealed in excitement
“You’re the best!,” she said excitedly as she gave him a peck and made her way to the door.
He couldn’t go back to sleep, as it was already time for me to start getting all dressed up for the show he was to perform in this weekend, but he was not mentally prepared and there would be lots of personalities to impress, which means he needs to give my best regardless.
He picked up his sleep-deprived self and moved to the bathroom to freshen up, though infuriated by Mandy’s disturbance he has got to do what he has to do,
He needs a bottle of Tio Tequila to get rid of his nerves and he’ll get it.

Wasn’t easy locating the venue on the Island, Lagos was a big city that accommodated different classes of people; from influential personalities to celebrities, rich, comfortable, and poor. At least she was still holding on to the poor class with a thread because she knew that at the rate at which my job search is going she and her family soon would move to the lowest class; which are the people that are on the streets.
Finally at the venue but she can’t seem to get across to Lya, and her phone wasn’t connecting and she was getting worried.
While still waiting a huge crowd of journalists from different media house can came rushing towards a black Toyota Land Cruiser as it approached the entrance of the hall.
Since she was still outside waiting for Lya, she decided to keep busy figuring out what the rowdiness happening around her was all about.
The sound of cameras clicks could be heard the moment the door of the car opened revealing a tall dark young man with black shades on, she couldn’t make out who the person was but she knew from all indications that he is definitely a celebrity and she is already excited that she came for this event.
S e e l l l l y y y!!
Lya screamed and hugged her.
Lya is a hyperactive social bird. She is her childhood friend and the complete opposite of her which makes people wonder how she copes with being her friend, but she loved Lya because she always had her back.
She smiled back at Lya as they moved to the back of the event hall where she got all dressed up.
It was her first ushering job and from her sweaty palms and shaking breaths you can tell that she was nervous.
She wanted to give this event ushering her best shot since she couldn’t secure a more decent job.
“My cheeks already hurts from smiling,” she thought to herself, but she was just getting started with her newfound job.

He looked at himself once again at the rearview mirror once again; his eyes were bloodshot red, he was literally high and he knew it, but it was his only solution to giving a good performance. The paparazzi has already crowded his car so he needed to put on sunshades and pull up his hoodie and with the coverage of his well-built bodyguards, he maneuvered his way through the pressing crowd of paparazzi, and camera flashes. He got backstage patiently waiting to get called up.It wasn’t a long wait since he came in quite late.It only took his presence and a “what’s up guys? Are you ready to party hard?” to get the crowd going wild, a few blow kisses for the girls, and his signature smile to put them in a full-blown party mood. The performance went by quickly and he was grateful for every drop of alcohol that was in his system, It always did the magic.Leaving the restroom after splashing some water on his face after his performance, by now he was completely sober, it was time to treat
It has been two weeks since her first event ushering experience and she was already getting used to the job. Now preparing for her third event which is her last ushering job with Mr Charles as her supervisor, she couldn’t contain her excitement because she was tired of watching him treated her and her colleagues with no respect and less pay.Her friend Lya has moved to another agency, she wanted to join her but she couldn’t because she had to stay and pay for the damages she incurred on her first day as an event usher. With 20% of her pay being deducted, she had little or nothing to take back home but she was glad that she would complete the payment soon. She was done packing her bag with all she needed before getting dressed and start heading to their usual spot where they gather before being conveyed by a bus to the event place. She finished packing quite early so she decided to take her time and prepare for this event. She was done dressing and was adding finishing touches to her m
He paced from one end of his room to the other, why couldn’t he find his wristwatch? He has checked everywhere and can’t seem to find it. He decided to go with the Rolex watch he got two months ago that has been lying in the watch storage because it wasn’t his style, but he had no option but to go with it as he was running out of time. The crowd was buzzing with excitement as they wait for his arrival, the paparazzi were already stationed outside the entrance, cameras flashing and reporters clamoring for a quote. Fans are chanting his name, eagerly anticipating his arrival. The crowd erupts in cheers at the sight of his entourage, and security personnel spring into action, creating a pathway for him to enter. The car door opens, and he stepped out looking glamorous and poised. Dressed in a designer outfit, with complimenting well-trimmed haircut, he stepped onto the red carpet, and the crowd goes wild. Cameras flash incessantly as he makes his way down the red carpet. He stops to p
Seline didn’t know what to do, So, she simply bow her head and decided to act too busy. “Fine girl”, Seline called out to another waitress to switch places with her. She needed to leave that environment before he would recognize her. -------------------------------------- The party was in full swing, waiters and waitresses, impeccably dressed in crisp black and white uniforms, scurried across the room, expertly balancing trays laden with delicate champagne flutes and an array of delectable small chops. The clinking of glasses and the hum of conversation merged into a harmonious symphony, as guests mingled and exchanged pleasantries. A live band, stationed on an elevated stage, played a melodious jazz tune, setting the perfect backdrop for the festivities. The CEO, surrounded by a sea of well-wishers, smiled graciously, engaging in captivating conversations that echoed his sharp intellect and business acumen. The aromas of gourmet cuisine filled the air, tempting even the most dis
The sun's gentle rays peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Amy's face as she stirred from her slumber. Her heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nerves. Today marked a significant milestone in her journey—a year had passed since she had joined the Zion Groups, and now she stood on the precipice of a new chapter. With a deep breath, Amy rose from her bed and made her way to the window. The cityscape stretched out before her, a tapestry of possibilities. Today was her first day as the CEO of the Diamond Groups, a position she had earned through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in her abilities. As she dressed, each movement deliberate and purposeful, Amy couldn't help but reflect on the past year. Her time at the Zion Groups had been transformative, filled with challenges and growth. She had proven herself time and again, surpassing expectations and earning the respect of her colleagues. But now, she was returning to her roots, to the compan
Seline woke up that Monday morning with worries written all over her face. She didn’t know what to expect. “What would be her job description? Would she be able to keep up with being the PA to a celebrity?” Seline! Seline!! “You no dey go work?”, Seline’s mum screamed in pidgin English to her hearing as she jerked up. Ah! She is already running late and it is her first day working as a PA for Sweet. She quickly took her bath and got dressed wearing a pencil skirt and a chiffon top, it was one of her best sets of clothing and she hoped it meets Sweet’s standard. As she silently self-motivated herself, she got up to leave as she had only 30 mins to get to the address that was sent to her. Seline! her mother called Seline stopped on her track and turned in her mother’s direction. “Prepare to meet Mrs Veronica’s son this weekend, he would be coming back from Abuja on Wednesday.” Without saying a word Seline turned towards the door and left, she was already running late and didn’t
“could you walk faster!” Seline fastened her pace to catch up with the long strides of her new boss. Even with her effort to reach him, his long legs were doing no good, and he wasn’t even bothered if she was catching up or not. “You need to see this” Marcus Sweet’s manager passed him his phone. Sweet’s face immediately moved from cheerful to aggravated. “Can you move faster!” Sweet was now in a very bad mood, Seline couldn't understand why but she knows better than to say a word, so she followed his every instruction. As we got closer to his black Audi, was just thanking my stars that finally I’ll be dropping these shopping bags that weigh more than the weight of a cow because I was already exhausted from carrying the heavy bags on my shoulders and running after my boss “Get a cab and meet me in my house in 30 mins” Sweet snapped, his voice sharp and demanding. Seline looked around, unsure if he was speaking to her or someone else nearby. Before she could inquire, the engine of
The city lights shimmered like stars as Seline made her way through the bustling streets. Anger still simmered within her, a potent mix of frustration and indignation. She couldn't believe her mother had invited a suitor from their church as if her life were a game of arranged matrimony. Tonight, she needed an escape from it all, and an unlikely choice presented itself - a club. Arriving at the vibrant establishment, the pulsating beat of music filled the air, reverberating through her bones. This was not her usual scene, but tonight, it seemed like the perfect antidote to the heaviness she carried. She spotted her friend, Lya, at a corner table, her smile a welcoming beacon amidst the flashing lights. Lya looked surprised as Seline approached, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Hey there, what's going on?" she asked, sensing the turmoil beneath Seline's facade. Seline sank into the seat opposite Lya, trying to compose herself. "I... I just needed a break, you know? My
Seline was having a great day and the day hadn’t even started yet.Sweet has been a good tour guide and the fun part was that he was patient and loving. This part of Sweet was new to Seline, so she promised herself to enjoy every bit of it while it lasted because she might wake up the next morning to find out all of this was just a dream. After that they made a stop at an ice cream parlor, they set off, the city stretching out before them like a canvas waiting to be painted. Sweet led the way, his stride confident as he walked through the bustling streets with ease. Seline followed close behind, her curiosity piqued by the sights and sounds of the city.Their next stop was Centennial Olympic Park, a sprawling green space nestled in the heart of downtown Atlanta.Sweet took her to a park where Selime rode in a merry-go-round, she screamed her heart out cus it scared the shit out of her.Sweet guided Seline through the park, pointing out the iconic landmarks and sharing stories of the
………we dropped Seline at the hotel and went straight to the club. Sweet wanted to get wasted tonight, maybe the alcohol would work it’s magic in helping him forget what it felt like when they hugged. F***k !! he didn’t know why he called her his drug Damn!! He’s already an addict cus’ now he needs more As Sweet got into the club, he swung into action, enjoying the night as much as he wanted. He needed enough alcohol in his system. His vision was becoming blurry and he knew he needed to return to his hotel room. As he stood up from his chair he staggered and mixed a few steps. Thank goodness he had his private security with him. As he got off the lift and entered his room he thought …arghh! The sunlight is not helping the migraine he feels right now He saw this beauty sleeping peacefully with her head on his arms, Sweet robbed his sleepy eyes with his free hand again. He took a close look again Seline! Sweet jerked up at alert as he came to the consciousness of the situation be
The evening was awash in a warm, golden hue as Sweet and Seline made their way to the event. The city of Atlanta had come alive with the anticipation of the show, and the streets buzzed with energy. Yet, in the car, a heavy silence hung between them. Sweet's mind was preoccupied with the upcoming performance, the weight of expectation, and the nagging jealousy he had felt over the past few weeks.Seline, on the other hand, was keenly aware of the tension in the air. She had sensed Sweet's unease, and although she wanted to ease his worries, she also felt a flutter of excitement about the night ahead. The car glided smoothly through the city streets, but Sweet's thoughts were far from the passing scenery. He couldn't help but be distracted by Seline's presence beside him. Her perfume, a delicate and intoxicating blend of floral and citrus notes, enveloped him, and its fragrance seemed to infiltrate his thoughts, making it hard to concentrate on anything else.Unbeknownst to Sweet, he w
The evening had arrived, and Seline found herself seated beside Sweet in a sleek black car, en route to the exclusive restaurant where the event was to take place. The atmosphere inside the car was charged with anticipation, but Marcus seemed preoccupied, lost in his thoughts. He had noticed something about Seline that evening, something that had captured his attention from the moment they had left the hotel. Seline's choice of perfume that night was intoxicating, its subtle notes filling the car and clouding Sweet's mind. He couldn't quite place the scent, but it was a delicate blend of florals and spices that seemed to dance in the air around her. It was a fragrance unlike any he had encountered before, and it had a mesmerizing effect on him. As they drove through the city streets, Sweet found himself distracted, his thoughts drifting back to Seline and her enchanting perfume. He barely noticed when the taxi came to a halt, lost in a reverie induced by her presence. Seline, on the
The jet lag had an effect on Seline as she slept off as soon as her head touched the pillow of her hotel room. It was so comfy that she forgot to unpack. He smiled at her like she was the only human existing in the world “you look beautiful” She blushed at his comment as he moved closer to her drawing her to his side as he placed a kiss on her forehead. Seline! Seline!! She felt someone shook her. She slowly opened her eyes and was met with a beautiful set of eyes She blinked twice to make sure she wasn’t still dreaming. She jerked up as she came to consciousness moving away from Sweet as far as her leg could carry her. Sweet was surprised at her reaction but got straight to the reason why he woke her up. “we have an outing this evening with the organizers and other celebrities” “please look good,” he said placing emphasis on the last statement. As Sweet was about to leave, he turned and stole a glance at her then shut the door after him. Seline was confused at his last act
Three weeks had passed since the awkward encounter with King and Madam Christiana. At that time, Seline's life had taken an unexpected turn. She was now preparing to accompany Marcus Sweet to his show in Atlanta, a journey she couldn't have imagined just a few weeks ago. It hadn't been easy to convince her mother, who had initially been skeptical about the idea. But Seline had managed to sway her by offering to pay for a change of apartment, something her mother had been wanting for a long time. Her mother's approval came with a mix of apprehension and pride, knowing that her daughter was taking a significant step in her life. Meanwhile, Sweet had noticed a change in Seline's behavior over the past few weeks. She seemed to be speaking to someone else on the phone frequently, and it piqued his curiosity. He couldn't help but wonder who had captured Seline's attention and why she was keeping it a secret. As Seline sat in her new apartment, a cozy one-bedroom space with modern furnishi
As she walked down the street, she thought about what happened in Sweet’s house trying to convince her that it was none of her business but the truth was, she felt a little sting in her chest and she couldn’t say why she felt annoyed at the sudden visit of his ex. “What does she want?” “Why can’t she just go?” Questions kept running through her mind while she walked to the extent she was caught off guard after she realized she had walked past the turn to the street that led to her house. As she quickly retraced her steps and walked towards her house, she saw a very expensive-looking car parked outside the gate: usually on this side of Lagos, it is hard to find such. As she drew closer to the wing of the building where her flat was located, it became more evident they had visitors over as her mum’s voice could be heard clearly throwing orders at her younger siblings. In haste to know who these visitors were, she stepped into the house to find out it was some strange woman from her
Sweet stood in his well-appointed living room, checking his watch for what felt like the hundredth time. He was expecting Seline, his PA, to arrive soon for a private conversation he had been rehearsing in his mind. He had carefully planned his words, wanting to make amends for his impulsive behavior. He had no intention of letting his actions cast a shadow over their professional relationship. As he waited, his thoughts were consumed by the conflict of emotions that had been churning within him. He had been navigating a delicate dance between his newfound feelings for Seline and his determination to maintain professionalism. The apology he had written was a testament to his commitment to setting things right. Just as he was lost in his thoughts, a sudden knock on the door jolted him from his reverie. Frowning, he crossed the room and opened the door, only to be met with a sight that caught him off guard. Standing before him was Mandy, his ex-girlfriend, someone he hadn't seen in mon
As Seline stepped into the cab, her mind was a whirlwind of emotions. The encounter with Marcus Sweet had left her in a state of confusion, her heart racing from the unexpected closeness they had shared. Her fingers instinctively touched the spot on her waist where he had held her, still feeling the lingering tingle that seemed to echo his touch. The cab's engine hummed to life, the gentle vibrations providing a backdrop to her racing thoughts. She gave the driver her address but found herself lost in a sea of contemplation, her mind unable to settle on any one thought. What had prompted Sweet to hold her that way? Was it just another one of his mind games, or was there something deeper that she couldn't comprehend? The city lights passed by in a blur as the cab journeyed through the streets, each turn a reflection of the twists in her mind. She tried to analyze her feelings, to decipher the complex web of emotions that Sweet seemed to awaken within her. She had always respected him
