~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~
Everyone who was invited to the rehearsal dinner had left. Justin, Emett, Christian, Terry, Brandon and I were left behind. For the most part, the decorating was done. There were a few minor details that we needed to improve on, and that was mainly the outside areas.
Justin and I spent the night hanging lights in the backyard. We were silent most of the time, unless giving each other directions. I stood tall on a ladder, trying my best to hook the lights on the gutters of the house. Justin stood beside me, ready to catch me if I was to go falling down.
“I’m excited,” I murmured to myself, reaching up, not thinking that Justin had heard. He did.

~KAHLAN~ After the wedding the teens guided everyone into the living room, giving them about ten minutes to mingle around, look over food options, and talk about how beautiful the ceremony was, while we cleared out the chairs, and quickly set out the tables. Once that was done, we opened the doors back up, and presented Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hancock, as they had their first dance as man and wife. After that, every other couple made their way to the dance floor. I had a camera out, taking pictures. This is the kind of happiness I wanted to capture, to remember, to one day compare my love to. Paul held her close and wrapped her arms around his neck. They stared into each other’s eyes as if they could live in that moment forever. They held each other as if they never wanted to let go. I could feel their happiness."Beautiful
~ASHLEY AND JUSTIN~ "I want you to know something," Justin began, looking at Ashley. They danced in silence for two songs. It was time to face the music. Justin had some apologizing to do. "I do not hate you.""Yes, you do," she spoke softly, not bothering to look in his direction, her voice slow. "You screamed it in my face." If only he knew how much that hurt her. He looked away for a moment."I didn't really scream it," he answered, remembering back, "and everyone says things that they don’t mean." She said nothing, but looked as if she didn’t believe a word that was coming out of his mouth. “Ashley, I really don’t hate you.""What about all the other stuff you said?"
~KAHLAN~ “Kahlan!” I heard my name. It was muffled. I took a deep breath, seeing nothing but darkness. “Kahlan, wake up.” I took one deep breath. “Kahlan.” My eyes fluttered to an open. Green eyes stared back at me, surrounded by nothing but a blur of colors. I closed my eyes again. “Kahlan wake up!”“Damon,” I spoke, the voice sounding clearer.“Can you open your eyes?” I tried, but every time they opened, I felt my eyes roll around, feeling heavy, so I would give up and close them back.“Damon,” I repeated.“Kahlan, open your eyes!” The time, the words were screamed at me, and my
~KATE~Carly, Robert, and Kate sat at the dining room table in silence. Robert and Kate had left before anyone had found Kahlan, so the moment Carly came home, she told them what happened, and it brought immediate worry to Kate. Robert tried all night to reassure the girls that everything would be all right, but in the end nothing he did or said made a difference."Maybe I should call, or drop by, or something," Kate thought aloud."I don’t think that’s a good idea." Carly responded, "Her therapist said she needs to refrain from stress." Kate looked and then nodded her head. God, she just wanted to be there for her daughter.~KAHLAN~I rolled over on to my side, eyes open. The yelling, the crying, the pain, made me sleep, but
~KAHLAN~ When I awoke the next morning, I got in the shower, got dressed and then began to pick up around the house, wanting it to be spotless. It had been awhile since I had the house to myself. I just wanted to get Emett, Terry and Kate out of my mind. They were liars. My life could do without liars. I couldn’t help but to think why they would do that to me? Did they even really want to see me t all, or was it about the money? Emett says it wasn’t. And that’s probably why he returned it… but even still… why can’t anyone just be honest with me. Once they had escaped my mind, I thought about Ryan. I knew what Damon said was true. Ryan was dead, but something happened to me in that bathroom, and the one person who believed me was Justin. Next in line was Carly. I was so upset with her. I thought about calling her numerous times, telling her how I felt about he
~DAMON AND ELISHA~ Elisha looked at Damon. She knew this would be a question that she would be faced with. "When you asked me to move to Florida with you so you can be closer to a very important client, I wasn't ready. I had just gotten used to the idea of you and I living together, and now I was just supposed to move my life to another state, where I didn’t know anyone…” Damon blinked. He understood where Elisha was coming from, but at the same time, he had big plans for her. They were engaged for god sakes. They had been dating for years prior to moving in. Then again, she only moved in because he proposed. Maybe the idea of a future with him was scary and that’s why she unexpectedly ended their relationship."So what changed your mind?" He asked, getting out of his head.
~KAHLAN AND AMY~The weekend had ended, and surprisingly, a lot of the stress I was carrying seemed to fall off. My mother and I had made up. Justin and I seemed to be back to being friends… then, again, I had also gained new problems. One, Damon and I weren’t on the best of terms. Two, I had some unresolved issues with the Castles brother. And three, Amy Hancock was hiding something. I have a habit if sticking my nose where it doesn’t belong. That much I know, but at the same time, I felt like these things fell into my lap for a reason. I wasn’t asking for trouble, it just happened. In this case, it was all about a video. A video that I had seen with Amy and Mya speaking about a secret that Brooke was hiding. I had spotted Jason and Amy further up the hall, walking side by side as normal. I had debated if I wanted to pursue this time and time again, but my curiosity was getting the best of me. I heard
~KAHLAN AND DAMON~I knocked on Damon’s apartment door. I didn’t normally stop by unexpected, so I hoped that my surprise visit would put a smile on his face. The door opened and he stood before me, a blue dress shirt practically hanging off his body, his chest and stomach on full display.“Well gosh Doc, if you wanted me that bad, all you had to do was ask.” I leaned into his lips for a kiss, all the while chuckling at myself. He quickly kissed me back, before rushing back into the apartment. I followed, closing the door behind me. We hadn’t really talked since the night that I stormed out of his apartment. I was here to make up, to apologize. I had understood where Damon was coming from, but it was the lying that made me not want to deal. If I were put in his position, I probably would have lied too.
~ELLA~ Ella rushed up to one of the cops on the scene. The waiting around was killing her. The cops had begun to clear out one part of the building. There was an automotive class-taking place, and their escape was out the garages of the North side of the building. Officers were planning on storming through there. That was the last that she had heard of their plans. There were two students hurt, but at least ten evacuated. That gave some hope. There were no fatalities. Ella wanted to help."I'm an off duty nurse," she stated, "I'm here to offer any assistance." The cop looked at her."Do you have your badge?" She pulled out her nursing badge and let the cop examine it. At least he was being thorough."Go on over to the par
~JUSTIN, EMETT AND MYA~ Mya snuck the guys into one of the pool exits. It threw them off course just a bit to get the front office, but as long as they got inside, Justin didn’t care. He would find a way to Kahlan."How did you know this would be open?" Justin asked quietly. He wasn’t comfortable with Mya leading them. As men, they should be protecting her. She should be behind them."They cut the electricity off," she whispered back, "That means that the doors that were usually on manual locks, would open." Justin never paid attention to things like that, so he was glad that Mya did, otherwise, they may have still been outside, trying to find a way in, or they would have given up."How did you know there were
~KAHLAN AND BROOKE~ "It’s been five minutes!" Brooke shouted at me as quiet as she could when I returned to her side. She had gotten loud as if she was angry, but she was scared. She was sweating bullets, her face looking as if she had gotten caught in the rain."I know, I'm sorry," I said, "Did anyone text back?" She shook her head. "Damn it." Brooke looked at me. She wanted so badly for me to have good news for her, but I didn’t."What are we going to do?" she asked as she placed a hand over her belly. I stared down at her stomach. It was more than out lives at stake, it was the life of this unborn child. I couldn't give her an answer; so instead, I looked around, trying to come up with our next move.
~AMY, CHAD AND JASON~Jason looked, asking himself the same question. What was his problem? The fact that his friend and girlfriend lied to him… yep, that was it."I don't have a problem," Jason answered softly."Well you sure do stomp around like you do," Chad said."I'm upset," Jason replied. "I don't know how I should feel, but I know I don't hate you. Most of me misses you guys, but there is still a part of me that can't get over the fact that you two lied. And when I think about it, I can see you guys in my head, and it just makes me sick to my stomach.""Let us help you get over it," Amy said getting to her feet, "trying to avoid us and staying mad at us obviously isn't helping." Jason looke
~JUSTIN~ Everyone got to their knees outside, at the sound of another gunshot. The group was pushed back further from the school as more people escaped. Now officers had arrived on the scene. They had begun pushing everyone back across the parking lot, closer to the street and the surrounding homes. Justin couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. He was not the type to feel powerless."I have to get in there," he demanded, pushing past Carly. He didn’t even get a few feet, before he was thrown to the ground. He landed on his left knee pretty hard, feeling the pain of the pavement. He looked up and saw Coach Myers on top of him."Where do you think your going boy?" the coach growled."I ha
~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So you have a date tonight?” Carly asked as we made our way to the front of the school. I glanced over at her as we walked down the hall. I had to stop by my locker to drop off my textbooks. We agreed that to car pool for a while. It saved time and gas money.“Its not a date.” “Yeah, but you want it to be.” She grinned. I looked over at her. It seemed that Carly might have knew more than I did. Justin and I had discussed going out together. As far as I was concerned it was just as friends. Though I wasn’t sure exactly what we were doing. Justin just said it was a birthday surprise.“Its two friends hanging out.” I responded. She looked at me. &l
~CARLY AND JUSTIN~Justin rushed through the crowds of teens pooling into the lunchroom. He was chasing one particular person down, and wanted to get to her before she reached their lunch table. He reached out and touched Carly’s shoulder, pulling her back.“Hey,” she said with a slight chuckle, his force a bit surprising. The last time she was grabbed like that, James was the one with the force. She was able to push the thought away from her mind rather quick. “What’s going on?” He seemed eager.“What do you think I should get Kahlan for her birthday?” That wasn’t a question she thought he’d ask.“Well, what do you think she wants?” She questioned, “besides you naked in a bow?”
~BROOKE AND SANDINO~ Brooke knocked on Sandino’s door. She had heard that he didn’t go to school, and figured now would be the best time to go over, since his mother would be at work. Dino opened the door, looking at her through the screen."What do you want?" he asked. She looked. So far, this was going better than expected. She didn’t even think that he would open the door, let alone speak to her."Just to talk.""I don’t want to talk. Not to you anyway.” He looked as if he had been sleeping the day away, hiding from the embarrassment that she caused."I don’t want you to hate me," she spoke out. Hate was a strong word, but if anyone was going to
~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ I stood at my locker, putting away my books when Justin walked up to me. I could feel his presence before I saw her. He stood behind me."Hey," he said. I turned around to look at him. We hadn't talked since what happened in my pool, and since I blurted all my thoughts and feelings at the lunch table. It seemed that our time had now come. I was ready to talk to him and it seemed that he was ready to talk to me."Hi," I said quietly."How are you?" he asked."I'm good," I answered, "You?""Not so much," He responded, putting his hands into his pockets. I looked at him. He did look a mess, as if he were losing sleep
