The doctor knocked on the room door before entering.
“I’m sorry to interrupt, I’m doctor Laura Cliff. I’ll be here to help you through your pregnancy and answer any questions for you. I will also be handling the delivery of your child.” Sandino looked. They had been seeing a different doctor for a little while but they felt that Doctor Cliff would be a better fit considering Brooke’s age.

~SANDINO AND BROOKE~Sandino and Brooke walked hand in hand down the street. The feeling of being parents was a good one and very overwhelming. Brooke looked at Sandino. She loved him. She couldn’t imagine being without him, but lately he was slipping through her fingers. The harder she tried to hold on to him, the easier it was for Dino to leave. ~JUSTIN AND ASHLEY~Justin and Ashley sat in Justin’s car, which he borrowed from his grandparents on occasion. They were parked in the school parking lot. It seemed empty. Teens would be showing up to start their school day shortly. Ashley had walked out of the house with pep in her step. After all, Justin had called her insisting that he give her a ride today. That could only mean so many things.“So,” Ashley said with a wide grin, as she looked over at Justin, “What did you want to talk about?” The smile on her face destroyed Justin. ~DAMON AND ELLA~Damon came rushing out of his bedroom. The house was quiet. Brooke was laid up in bed, Mike was at school and Ella was sitting on the couch, a book in hand.“So Brooke didn’t go to school today?” Damon questioned. “Is she feeling okay?” If that was her son’s attempt to keep the conversation off of him, it didn’t work. Ella looked up and shook her head.“And you didn’t go to work?” Damon shook his head. He was heading into the kitchen for coffee. It didn’t matter if it was past noon.“No. It's not like I have clients waiting on me or something.” Ella closed her book.“Where were you Damon?” she asked. Here we go D

~THE BOYS~Justin cleared his throat, not sure how to approach the question. He wasn’t sure if this was something that Kahlan would be comfortable about him sharing, then again, She and Carly had an open discussion about it at the lunch table. There were no whispers or hushed tones. Maybe Kahlan was done hiding.“Well her mom came back,” he answered. The boys nodded. That was something that they had already overheard.“Well where was she at?” Brandon asked. Justin shrugged.“The point is she’s been gone and she’s back expecting things between her and Kahlan to go back to normal, but Kahlan can't seem to do that, which I can understand. Her mom has missed a lot, you know, things moms should be around for.”

~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So, what’s so important?” I asked Carly as we walked towards the patio. She looked at me. I rubbed my face multiple times to get rid of the water running down from my wet hair that was up in a bun. “I mean something had to be important for you to just climb the fence to my backyard.” The young girl laughed.“Nothing is important, I mean, I just came to check on you.”“To check on me?” I asked, taking a seat on the patio table. I nodded my head. “You know you don’t have to worry about me every second of the day.” Carly took a seat in one of the lawn chairs.“Yeah I know. ~MYA AND CHAD~Chad tapped his finger on the steering wheel, waiting for Mya. He had his stereo on, listening to one of his favorite bands, Three Days Grace. Then she finally came. She sat in the passenger seat. Chad looked over at her waiting for her to speak. “Sorry, I had to tell Amy that I didn’t need a ride today.” Chad looked over at Mya and noticed the curling of her lips. She was pleased with herself. “Yeah,” Chad said, “What was Amy’s reaction?” Mya shrugged. “You know, I wasn’t really paying attention.” Chad chuckled lightly. The woman practically said she was out to destroy her sister. Everything she said or did was to get a reaction out of Amy; of course she was paying attention. “You expect me to believe that?” he asked. Mya looks, but then smiled. “I guess not,” Mya said, “She looked upset and a little curious.” “Curious?” Mya nodded her head. “About what exactly?” “My guess; why am I hanging out with you and what kind of relationship do we have with each other.”

~KATE AND CARLY~The woman stared ahead, eyes open, but she wasn’t blinking. Her body was still. She gripped a green mug tightly in her right hand. The cup itself looked half full but you could still see some steam rising from the dark liquid. Carly guessed it was coffee. She stood tall behind Kate, who sat on the teal living room couch."How'd you sleep?" Kate asked, looking at the teen. Carly smiled."Like a baby. You?""I didn't sleep", Kate answered, "I have a lot on my mind." Kate’s face looked pale, and her eyes seemed to barely be open."Thinking about Kahlan?" The older woman nodded. "I do wish I could help you. But it’s hard to convince Kahlan. She's not easily influenced." Kate gave her a s

~KATE AND ROBERT~Kate stood at the sink washing the breakfast dishes. Robert came up from behind her, wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. She chuckled lightly as he put his light pink lips to her neck."Well good morning to you too." said Kate. Robert chuckled. He walked away after letting go of his girl friend and went to make himself a cup of coffee."Kate," Robert replied, "I need to talk to you.""Sure, what is it?" He leaned back against the kitchen counter, holding his cup up to his lips. Kate looked over at him as she dried her hands. Robert Woods stared for a moment."I have to go back to work." Kate’s eyes went wide.“You what?" He set his mug on the counter."I want to know if you'll be here when I get back." He could feel anger even though she looked calm, but even with her calmness and anger he could also see her nervousness."For how long?" Kate asked."Three days," Robert answered, "and then I decided to take a vacation, three weeks off." Kate took a deep breath. "

~ELLA~ Ella rushed up to one of the cops on the scene. The waiting around was killing her. The cops had begun to clear out one part of the building. There was an automotive class-taking place, and their escape was out the garages of the North side of the building. Officers were planning on storming through there. That was the last that she had heard of their plans. There were two students hurt, but at least ten evacuated. That gave some hope. There were no fatalities. ~JUSTIN, EMETT AND MYA~ Mya snuck the guys into one of the pool exits. It threw them off course just a bit to get the front office, but as long as they got inside, Justin didn’t care. He would find a way to Kahlan."How did you know this would be open?" Justin asked quietly. He wasn’t comfortable with Mya leading them. As men, they should be protecting her. She should be behind them."They cut the electricity off," she whispered back, "That means that the doors that were usually on manual locks, would open." Justin never paid attention to things like that, so he was glad that Mya did, otherwise, they may have still been outside, trying to find a way in, or they would have given up."How did you know there were

~KAHLAN AND BROOKE~ "It’s been five minutes!" Brooke shouted at me as quiet as she could when I returned to her side. She had gotten loud as if she was angry, but she was scared. She was sweating bullets, her face looking as if she had gotten caught in the rain."I know, I'm sorry," I said, "Did anyone text back?" She shook her head. "Damn it." Brooke looked at me. She wanted so badly for me to have good news for her, but I didn’t."What are we going to do?" she asked as she placed a hand over her belly. I stared down at her stomach. It was more than out lives at stake, it was the life of this unborn child. I couldn't give her an answer; so instead, I looked around, trying to come up with our next move.

~AMY, CHAD AND JASON~Jason looked, asking himself the same question. What was his problem? The fact that his friend and girlfriend lied to him… yep, that was it."I don't have a problem," Jason answered softly."Well you sure do stomp around like you do," Chad said."I'm upset," Jason replied. "I don't know how I should feel, but I know I don't hate you. Most of me misses you guys, but there is still a part of me that can't get over the fact that you two lied. ~JUSTIN~ Everyone got to their knees outside, at the sound of another gunshot. The group was pushed back further from the school as more people escaped. Now officers had arrived on the scene. They had begun pushing everyone back across the parking lot, closer to the street and the surrounding homes. Justin couldn’t just stand around and do nothing. He was not the type to feel powerless."I have to get in there," he demanded, pushing past Carly. He didn’t even get a few feet, before he was thrown to the ground. He landed on his left knee pretty hard, feeling the pain of the pavement. He looked up and saw Coach Myers on top of him."Where do you think your going boy?" the coach growled."I ha

~KAHLAN AND CARLY~“So you have a date tonight?” Carly asked as we made our way to the front of the school. I glanced over at her as we walked down the hall. I had to stop by my locker to drop off my textbooks. We agreed that to car pool for a while. It saved time and gas money.“Its not a date.” “Yeah, but you want it to be.” She grinned. I looked over at her. It seemed that Carly might have knew more than I did. Justin and I had discussed going out together. As far as I was concerned it was just as friends. ~CARLY AND JUSTIN~Justin rushed through the crowds of teens pooling into the lunchroom. He was chasing one particular person down, and wanted to get to her before she reached their lunch table. He reached out and touched Carly’s shoulder, pulling her back.“Hey,” she said with a slight chuckle, his force a bit surprising. The last time she was grabbed like that, James was the one with the force. She was able to push the thought away from her mind rather quick. “What’s going on?” He seemed eager.“What do you think I should get Kahlan for her birthday?” That wasn’t a question she thought he’d ask.“Well, what do you think she wants?” She questioned, “besides you naked in a bow?”

~BROOKE AND SANDINO~ Brooke knocked on Sandino’s door. She had heard that he didn’t go to school, and figured now would be the best time to go over, since his mother would be at work. Dino opened the door, looking at her through the screen."What do you want?" he asked. She looked. So far, this was going better than expected. She didn’t even think that he would open the door, let alone speak to her."Just to talk.""I don’t want to talk. Not to you anyway.” He looked as if he had been sleeping the day away, hiding from the embarrassment that she caused."I don’t want you to hate me," she spoke out. ~KAHLAN AND JUSTIN~ I stood at my locker, putting away my books when Justin walked up to me. I could feel his presence before I saw her. He stood behind me."Hey," he said. I turned around to look at him. We hadn't talked since what happened in my pool, and since I blurted all my thoughts and feelings at the lunch table. It seemed that our time had now come.
