Rejected proposal

Mira watched as Caleb kneeled down on one knee. Looking at him you could mistake his calmness as sincerity but she knew that all this was fake. An act made to fool her into digging her grave.

Caleb watched as Mira just stood watching him, nothing could be read from her current facial expressions,but that was definitely not the reaction he expected from her. He was expecting to see her cry amidst smiling due to his proposal, little did he know that his little pathetic act was already seen through by Mira.

Looking at him,Mira could mistake this as a sincere proposal. She was sure anyone on the receiving end would feel his heart brim with happiness, afterall, wasn't that her reaction in the past life. If it was the old Mira,she would be in her knees, tightly hugging Caleb to show her happiness but this was not her.

After facing betrayal From them in her past life,all Mira wanted was to exert her revenge in this life and experience love From the sole man who loved her to no end. She watched in disgust, although masking her emotions, as Caleb behaved like a clown.

" You should stand up Caleb." Mira finally Opened her mouth and said.

" I don't want to, I don't mind kneeling the whole day here to show my sincerity to you. I will only stand up after you accept my proposal and say yes to me,yes to us." Caleb said sincerely or atleast that's how a third party would perceive his words but not Mira.

She wasn't going to be fooled for the second time my sugarcoated words. She had sworn her revenge on them and revenge she shall get.

" Okay, you can continue kneeling for all I care. What I know is I am bit going to waste a single moment to watch this." Mira replied with finality.

She picked her purse and turned to leave.

" Wait!" Caleb spoke halting Mira in her steps. He clutched her wrist harshly making Mira flinch in pain.

He immediately let go after realizing what it is he had done.

" What do you want?" Her tone of voice came out harsh surprising Caleb yet again for the day.

The Mira he knows would never raise her voice to him nor would she turn him down, afterall she had spend half if her life trying to get his attention. He couldn't comprehend why she would suddenly turn cold towards him.

" Are you angry at me for ignoring you for years? I know you are and tiy you have the right to be but Mira,I already explained that I treated you badly because I hadn't realized how important you are in my life. I need you in my life and am willing to use the rest if my life making it up for you." Just as the master planner he was,Caleb switched his approach to the matter. He could see that his sugary words would not help him so why not use public opinion towards Mira.

The Mira he knew was easily swayed by what other people thought about her and would give in to avoid rumours from spreading but that's where he miscalculated his game.

The Mira Infront of him to was worlds apart from the Mira he knew.

True to his expectations,the crowd started talking among themselves.

" How could she be so unreasonable,the poor guy has already explained himself? Is there any need for her to embarass him?"

" I think she's Just playing hard to get,I hate such ladies the most."

" She should be happy the mabyis sincere enough to propose to her. Does she know how many ladies would give anything to be in her situation?"

How could Mira not know what Caleb was playing at? She was all familiar with their shameless ways if making her do their bidding but not anymore. She was here to embarrass her so how could she let him turn the tables at her.

" You think too much of yourself Caleb. Just because I have been chasing you all over like a lost puppy doesn't mean I will be doing that always. People change and so do situations. If there's something I have learnt so far is to love yourself first before you extend the same to others. I have lived practically all my life chasing after you,but things have changed. I realized that I don't need to keep chasing after rotten apples while the market is full of fresh and ripe grapes. I already moved on and found myself a man who loves me unconditionally." Mira finished her speech and turned to leave. No one dared obstruct her path nor stop her.

She took long confident steps,chin raised and head held up high.

She wasn't going to sit by and watch people diminish her worth. She wasn't going to wait for people to arrange her life. This time round she was determined to be the author of her own story. She will determine her future and write her own destiny.

She had come retrieve whatever they owed her and reward those who were nice to her. She will use her second chance to Life wisely.

Those who wronged her were bound to face her wrath. She will make them experience pain like how they had made her feel pain. This time it will be an eye for an eye,a tooth for a tooth.

Caleb watched as Mira walked away. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in hatred. How dare she? How dare that Mira make a joke out of him.

The crowd that was earlier supporting him started snickering and looked at him with disgust.

" How heartless? How could he keep a lady waiting for so long?How could she fall for such a man, she's so unlucky."

" I think maybe he wasn't even sincere with his proposal,who knows maybe he has ulterior motives!"

" Men like him make me not think about getting married at all."

" The nerve of the guy! Staging a stupid proposal after the lady just moved on? He's too selfish."

All sorts of nasty comments were made in his face.

His veins almost bursted from holding in too much anger.

" I'll make you pay for this Mira." Caleb vowed inside. He just hoped that this incident did nice reach his father's ear's or else he was in for it. What he feared most was being removed as the next heir of the company. What he did know is that he would turn to be the country's joke and the subject of ridicule to his friends and peers.

" Step one is done, step two in motion." Mira said as she entered her car and sped away.

Step two: shopping.

Since she didn't have any decent clothes, Mira decided to go shop. She was determined to do a full transformation of herself and what better idea than changing her wardrobe?

Butterfly wear

That was her next stop point. This was a clothing brand that specialized on ladies wear. Owned by the famous designer Red,you could find everything fashionable about ladies,the latest. The clothes available were in expensive but truth is they were worth each dollar.

Mira remembered that this was the same brand Timothy would gift to her. She had received dresses, shoes, handbags and jewelry from butterfly wear on each birthday.

Stupid as she was,she would then give them to her step sister after she was convinced that they didn't look good on her or Maybe Caleb would not like it.

Mira could only shake her head on how careless and ignorant she was in her past life.

Timothy would always gift her expensive gifts not to mention everytime she needed him,he would be at her beck and call,so how could she not have realized his feelings for her. It made her sad that she had to die to distinguish between who as real and who was fake. She thanked God for being merciful enough to give her yet another chance to write her wrongs.
