The cab driver smiled at me and bowed his head slightly, as I entered carefully so as not to show all of me. I've never worn a dress like this before. But I don't know why, it makes me feel free.

“Thank you ever so much. You're very kind,” I say after settling into the seat and he shuts the door. I watch him hurry to his side, take his seat, turn to me and ask, “Where to, miss?” the cab driver asks, looking at me in the rearview mirror.

I show him the address I have written on a slip of paper and ask him to take me there. I mention the name of the hotel; he smiles reassuringly and tells me not to worry, he knows where it is. Settling into the seat, I watch the world pass by outside. I've contemplated drinking until I'm numb and dancing until my feet give out. Today marks the first day of my freedom!

The taxi glides through the illuminated city streets while I follow the journey through the window with my gaze. A feeling of excitement and nervousness mingles in my stomach. Finally, I

She wasn't genuinely concerned; she was just making conversation as part of her job. I smiled and nodded.“Sure, you're the expert here.” I say with a smile. She left with a smile and returned with an enormous glass brimming with fruit, complete with a little flag adorning the straw. The size of the drink astounded me; it seemed it would last the entire night.“Wow, that's quite large,” I remarked.“Try it, you won't regret it,” she assured me with a wink. “But take it slowly, or I can't guarantee you'll walk out of here,” she chuckled.I took a sip and found it sweet but potent with alcohol. The first few sips were challenging; I even coughed under her mocking gaze as she checked back in with me periodically. Strong alcohol wasn't something I was accustomed to – my experience was limited to the occasional sweet wine, just a small glass. Nevertheless, I persevered, sipping gradually, and to my surprise, the taste grew on me.I continued to drink, scarcely noticing how the liquid dwind

We remained thus, locked in an embrace, barely moving. I let my head rest on his shoulder, feeling his nose nuzzle into my neck and his lips kiss me tenderly, while I pressed ever closer to his body. A deep sigh, almost akin to a sob, escaped from my throat. I yearned to turn and face him, but he wouldn"t allow it. Gently, he slid his hands up my body as if reading Braille, slowly tracing every curve and contour. He paused just past my waist. At the shudder that coursed through me, I moaned, attempting again to turn towards him.He didn"t let me turn; instead, he grasped my hips with both hands, pressing me against his pelvis. And so, we surrendered to the intoxicating rhythm of the music, which caused us to move sensually as though we were one entity. I allowed myself to be swept up in the delightful sensation of being desired. I relished the trail of his hands on my skin; I didn"t turn, I didn"t try again. I had no wish to know who he was. Only his pleasing scent

He was on top of me, kissing me incessantly, or rather, devouring me. He began to kiss my body, which trembled with sensations. I closed my eyes and focused on feeling and letting him do as he pleased, determined, without thinking, to go wherever this might lead. I was beneath him, enjoying his closeness and the presence that enveloped me completely. Each of his kisses made me tremble with excitement, and my heart raced. Without realizing it, I let myself be carried away by the passion of the moment.Gently, he caressed my skin as he lifted my short dress. I felt a mix of nervousness and eagerness for the unknown sensations that were arising within me. The beats of my thighs quickened as I felt his kisses there, and each caress transported me to a world of intense and unfamiliar emotions. His kisses gradually became bolder; his warm mouth landed on my belly, which he sucked, bit, and licked as he pleased, drawing moans of pleasure from me. And as he did, like an expert, he

The room filled with sounds: the thumping of his body against mine and the sound of his member entering and exiting. I was in ecstasy! He turned me again, placing my legs on his shoulders; he thrust into me with even more vigor while rubbing my center with his fingers. I gasped with pleasure and pulled him to place him on top, kissing him desperately. But he turned again, sitting me on top, making me ride him.My breasts rose and fell as his member opened me wider and wider, going deeper and deeper inside me. I was going crazy; I placed my hands on his strong chest and moved, seeking the forbidden pleasure that came in a gasp of contractions and spasms, emptying me completely. As I was thrust into with great energy, I reached my climax. My crying surprised me; I couldn’t stop crying. It was my first time feeling an orgasm! Being treated like a desired wom

I sighed as I watched the hotel fade away after my night of madness. I asked the taxi driver to take me to my apartment. I glanced back nervously from time to time, afraid someone was following me. Just as we were leaving, we stopped; the street was blocked, and a large crowd was watching someone being picked up by an ambulance.“Poor kid,” I heard the driver say. “He was hit while saving a child. How can a mother lose her son?”“Was it serious?” I asked, noticing how he was looking at me in the rearview mirror.“It seems so; he was bleeding a lot from his head while holding the little boy.” the driver continued.“And did the child suffer anything?” I took a concerned interest.“No, not at all; he came out unscathed. The young man protected him very well, but I don’t think he will survive. Because of that accident, we have to take a small detour, but don’t worry, we’ll get to

Now I understood my father’s threats against Luis the night of the dinner. He was warning him about that. Should I call him and tell him everything that happened? It would be good to have him on my side.“Mr. Ramiro, do you know why you are here?” I asked first.“Of course, Bella. Your grandfather told me that Luis attacked you and left you like this. Is that true?” he inquired immediately.“Yes, sir, he did,” I replied firmly.“Did he give you all those bruises?” he asked again.“Yes, sir,” I assured him, but I hurried to add, “But I already told my grandfather that I just want a divorce, not to accuse him or anything. I don’t want to get into all the hassle of lawsuits or scandals. You understand me, right?”It was something I needed to make very clear; I wanted to leave all that behind and get away as soon as possible. If there was a trial, it would turn into a specta

I get up, go for my bag, and as I do, I remember all the new marks from my night of madness. What do I do now? I walk slowly to where he is waiting for me patiently.“Mr. Ramiro, there’s… there’s something I need to confess to you before we go to the police,” my face must be red with embarrassment. He looks at me intrigued, telling me to continue. “I have some marks that have nothing to do with Luis.”Without letting him ask, I show him my neck, feeling even more embarrassed and lowering my face as I murmur,“Last night… I drank too much, and that’s what happened. Do you think it could complicate anything?”“No, but just in case, I won’t request an annulment, only a divorce. Is that okay?” He looks for a solution immediately, and I like that.“I don’t care how you manage it; all I want is to separate from Luis,” I reply right away, breathing a sigh of reli

My grandfather wouldn’t stop talking to Mima, nodding at everything she said to me. She couldn’t express herself with words, but she could listen perfectly and make herself understood through signs. She seemed like a little girl and didn’t know how to take care of me on her own. They were really scared to send me on that trip alone. I laughed and hugged both of them at the same time.“Stop worrying; I’ll be fine. It will only be a few days without you; I’ll spend my time at home looking at possible schools to enroll in,” I repeated, seeing that they weren’t calming down.“Okay, we’re going in four days; as soon as I finish my last therapy, we’ll leave,” my grandmother said through signs.“No, Mima, wait until you feel better, and then you can go. Grandpa, don’t let her go feeling unwell; I’ll be fine,” I asked, genuinely worried about her.And that’s how my whole day went, with them behind me, giving me I don’t know how many tasks. I continued conversing with Christie throughout our journey; she divulged everything about Adele, and between what Christian had told me and now my sister-in-law's account, I became convinced that Adele must have been unfaithful. Strangely, I found myself relieved that it had happened because now he is mine. The array of emotions that the very sight of my husband provokes in me is bewildering, especially the possessive thoughts that seem so alien. I scarcely recognise myself.Upon completing our run and arriving at my room, I was greeted by the sight of Christian stepping out of the bathroom shirtless, his hair damp. He was strikingly handsome and alluring. I lingered in the doorway, transfixed and uncertain of what to do next, my heart racing and my body alight with longing."Is something amiss, Bella?" he inquired."No, nothing," I managed to say before retreating into the sanctuary of the bathroom.I shed my clothes hastily, acutely aware of how sensitive my s

"I forgot," I reply, daring to glance at him. Heavens, he’s handsome! I turn my head away and continue speaking, trying to keep my voice steady. "I used to run in France, but after having the children, it became more difficult.""Well, from today onwards we'll run together every day! How's that sound? Would you like that?" he asks."Yes, that would be nice," I say, stubbornly looking ahead. Fortunately, Christie sticks to my left side, and I turn to her as she asks excitedly."Hey Bella, do you like skiing? My brother and I love it!""Yes, I adore it! Marta and I are quite good. We used to go skiing every year on holiday," I tell her enthusiastically. If there's one sport I enjoy, it's skiing. It's not that I love the cold, but skiing is my passion."The children seem to have learned to ski before they could walk. We all love it.""My children can ski?" Christian asks in surprise and then concludes with a smile. "They must take after me. Even in t

We spent almost the entire night talking with Christie; she hasn't tired of hugging me, kissing me, and thanking me for marrying her brother to save him from Adele. We didn't tell her that our marriage wasn't real. Christian fell silent when she asked, and then he took her with him. I don't know what he told her, but his sister now calls me sister-in-law."I'll help you, Bella, you'll see. Everything will turn out as my brother wishes. I promise you, don't be afraid, you have me and your husband," she said as she hugged and kissed me before going to her room. We did tell her that the children aren't his; she was amazed at how much they resemble her brother, even saying that Lucy looks like her as a baby. She thought Christian's idea to do parental tests with their hair was brilliant and offered to give more. She also carries hair from all four in a locket hung from her chest, just like her brother's.We continued talking a little more while we bathed, he outside and I insi

I hope Isabella does her part and that she's prepared psychologically. Chris told me about the scene his mother-in-law caused and that he hasn't seen her since. And that his father-in-law only greets them from a distance. But at least his sick grandmother seems to be doing better. He says his wife adores her grandparents. I just hope Isabella isn't that girl; I remember her mother was a viper and how she mistreated her, she even scared me. Ugh! I hope that's not my brother's mother-in-law! Dealing with Adele the witch is bad enough; two would be unbearable. We're nearly there; with all these thoughts, time has flown by, which is probably for the best. Let's see what surprise my brother has in store for me. Finally, it's time to disembark and meet Christian and his wife. Here we go, ready for anything!"What are you looking at?" I ask my bodyguard, who laughs at hearing me talk to myself. He shakes his head and accompanies me to collect my suitcase. I

"Could you arrange it to be merely an informative consultation? And you'll stay with me? Invent any story about me that you like; I'll follow your lead. Say we travelled on the same flight, that you... well... you know. But make it clear that I'm engaged and must remain untarnished for my wedding, do you grasp what I'm saying?" I implore him because the idea of being alone with a gynaecologist terrifies me."Christie, this is your reputation we're talking about. Aren't you scared it might leak out once they discover who you are? That sort of news could fetch a fortune," he cautions me with what looks like sincere worry in his gaze."If that happens... if that happens..." I stammer, realising the risk involved, but my determination is unwavering. So staring him straight in the eye, I declare boldly, "If that happens, you'll have to marry me!" And then I laugh to ease the tension building inside me. "Ha! Ha! Ha!""Don't laugh; this is no laughing matter," he retorts as

We were seated opposite each other, and it was apparent that David still harboured doubts about me, in spite of the numerous proofs I'd furnished. He scrutinised me intently as though attempting to decipher my thoughts. With a smile, I endeavoured to put him at ease and win his confidence."Could we draw up a contract?" inquired David once more."Indeed, that poses no issue, but I have a stipulation for you, David."Should he presume that I'll capitulate easily, he's gravely mistaken. I shan't depart without ascertaining my desires. If he is distrustful, then I am doubly so. It's becoming increasingly clear that our joint travel is no mere happenstance."A stipulation for me?" he queries with a hint of suspicion."Yes. Do you reckon receiving a substantial amount of money today would enable you to uncover that information?" Holding his gaze with a direct look, he swallows hard. "I assure you, it would suffice to secure your aunt's surgery with the preeminent

She was astonished to hear it and immediately asked him. "Didn't you say we could trust your sister? Are we going to deceive her about this?" I ask, stopping to look at him squarely."Never!" he says quickly, emphatically. "I trust my sister blindly; we'll tell her the truth about our relationship; she'll help us, you'll see. She also doesn't want me to marry Adele; she despises her because she says Adele used her to make me fall in love. And she was thrilled when the idea of marrying you came to me. Thank you for thinking of me to help you.""Are you thanking me for getting you into this mess?" I ask as I resume my work."Yes, it hadn't occurred to me when you asked me to pretend to be your husband; I immediately accepted and then realised it was the solution to stop my parents from wanting to marry me off to Adele. But there's something else I haven't told you, Bella."Isabella, intrigued by the seriousness with which he spoke to her, asked. "What's that?"

We're at the company, entering without any trouble. What Christian says is true; Grandfather's car doesn't let anyone see who is inside. Nor does anyone recognise it, so we go straight to the lift and up to the top floor without stopping. Just like that, no one in the company realises either. We laugh because we look like two thieves hiding from everyone."Ha, ha, ha... I haven't had this much fun or laughed so much in a long time," Christian says when we reach the top."Ha, ha, ha... nor have I. This is new to me, ha, ha, ha... What do we do? I'm sure they'll see us when we leave.""It doesn't matter, by the time they realise, we'll be long gone. This week, I want us to work first on the speech I have to give for the company's anniversary, and second, on these new programmes. I've noticed that both Marta and you have done this before. Am I wrong?""No, it's with that style of programmes we worked with in France. Your phone is ringing.""My phone?" &nb

He explains to me, looking very serious. I understand; they have no reason to trust me, I contacted him over the internet. That's why I thought about writing him a check, but then realise that might not be the best idea."Do you know where there's a cash machine or a bank? I'll go and withdraw the money now. I was going to give you a check, but I think cash would be better. Am I wrong?" I ask the detective, who nods in agreement."There's both just around the corner," he replies."Let's go right now to settle your fee. Your services have been invaluable, and I want you to continue the investigation until we find out what she did. Agreed?"I stood up without waiting for an answer. They exchange glances and then follow me, pointing out the way."Wait here," I say, indicating a café next to the bank. "What operation does your wife need?""She has a tumour in her head." The detective answers, looking at me questioningly.I look at him with
