Chapter 9

ALPHA JACKSON'S POV

I couldn’t believe it. Elisa had the audacity to demand a divorce.

I was filled with so many emotions - anger and confusion, as I searched for her after the ball. How dare she? I had sent her a text and she didn’t even bother to respond.

My wolf was just as furious, pacing restlessly in my mind, urging me to find her and demand an explanation. I stormed back into the ballroom, scanning the faces of the remaining guests. She was nowhere to be seen.

The clock was ticking past midnight, and she still hadn't returned home. This was the first time Elisa had stayed out this late, and it disturbed me, making my blood boil. Gina stayed by my side and offered words of comfort.

“Jackson, she’ll come back. She probably just needs some time to cool off,” Gina said gently. This was the reason I admired Gina. Even after everything Elisa did to her, she still tried to defend her sister. Gina placed a hand on my arm, but it did little to reduce my anger.
