Because I was cooking outside, I kept thinking milk might get ruined, and then when I tried to boil rice, I couldn’t measure it properly and ended up boiling too little. After finally what felt like hours, I felt I was reaching somewhere, but I knew the whole village was now getting impatient.
Lora and others had already made ten rounds asking me about my progress. As the hot pudding finally got cooked, I started serving it with the help of the others who were already using the kitchen area.
They served the elders first and then the rest of the villagers. I was biting my lip pretty hard as the elders started eating it. Lora and the girls were standing by me to show their support.
As they ate it, all looked up and nodded at each other before finally relieving me from this suspense.
