Mikael stares at the heavy Mahogany double door which is the last place he saw Erin before she vanished from his view.

That woman.

Everything he had worked for almost all his life was gone like a bubbling bursting into the air.

In just a fraction of a moment, all was lost. The wealth and power within his grasp evaporated.

That old man. He was supposed to be his heir—the sole inheritor of one of the biggest mobs in Italy.

He could simply kill him. Make him bend to his will and change the documents transferring everything written to his name. Nevertheless, for some inexplicable reason, he retained a trace of conscience within him. He owed the man his life, and if it weren't for him, he wouldn't be standing on top of the chain right now. He was indebted to him.

He wasn't lying when he said that he cared for the man. He treated him as his own and didn't look at him the other way like the starving street child he found many years ago.
