Pernwél

Grandma Rose stared at me in shock.

I felt baffled, to the point that I began to question every step of my life and how we had gotten to this point. It made my head spin and I took a seat on the rocking chair.

“Dear?” Grandma Rose asked worriedly, gazing at me with her observant eyes. “Are you okay?”

I wasn’t even sure how to answer Grandma Rose’s question. Was all of this even real? Surely I would wake up any moment and it would have been one of my nightmares.

The wise older woman took a seat next to me and grabbed my hand in hers. It was oddly similar to the way that Jake had done  when I was feeling overwhelmed. It calmed my nerves but I was still ree

🐾 Alpha Jake I decided to walk Pernwél to her room so she could freshen up while I made some calls. I needed to ask around the other werewolf packs and see if they had heard of the person we needed to find. “Thanks Jakey.” The way she said ‘Jakey’ did something to me. I hated the nickname, but coming out of her mouth it had my heart fluttering at an unnatural speed. I let out a sigh, wanting to display a sense of displeasure, before I lowered my lips to her forehead and placed a soft kiss on it, like I had done the previous night. Suddenly, we were startled by laughter. Darren was down the corridor and had heard us as he exited his own room. He took a couple of steps in our direction and guffawed in front of Pernwél. “Why is Robin Hood calling you Jakey?”

➳ PernwélA couple of days had passed since Jake had reached out to other Alpha’s from the neighbouring packs in this Realm. Some jumped at the opportunity to help Alpha Jake’s pack, but there were others who weren’t inclined to help us in any way. According to Jake, there were those who didn’t agree to the werewolf code. Norms of conduct that had been in the making for ages, passed on through the communities of shifters everywhere around the globe. He didn’t go into detail explaining them to me, but I understood. We had something similar in the Royal guard. A set of ancient rules to live and abide by.They were jealous of the way his pack thrived. Jake had great warriors and a prospering economy. Jake’s pack had its own bakery, wood shop, butcher, elem

➳ Pernwél When night fell, we stopped for a break at a rural hotel that Jake had made reservations for. It consisted of one building and smaller cabins around it. We had to pick up the key inside the main building and Jake left me alone in the car for a brief moment. It was starting to get dark outside and the lanterns that illuminated the path towards the cabins had just been lit. It gave it all a fairytale aura. If it wasn’t because we were going on this trip for important matters, I would’ve found this romantic. He got into the car again and flashed his canines with a dashing grin, while he held up the keys to our refuge for the night. Jake and I pulled up to one of the cabins with the truck. It reminded me of Grandma Rose’s home. Only there were no leaf

🐾 Alpha Jake I hadn't expected the way that Pernwél asked me to stay in the bed with her and then her soft lips on my own had my heart glowing with warmth and a sensation that I hadn’t felt before. Being a bachelor Alpha for such a long time had its benefits with the she wolves in the pack and I had my fair share of flings in the past. Always no string attached and with the ultimate goal in mind, my heart was only reserved for my fated mate. First, I held out two years after turning of age, waiting for that special someone to cross my path. She wasn’t in my own pack, and neither in the neighbouring packs when I visited for the yearly reunions. I somehow gave up, giving in to the natural animalistic urges of the wolf spirit in us shifters that climbs to the surface.

➳ PernwélWhile Jake drove the vehicle called Land Rover, to our destination, the pack of Green Valley. He explained to me that we had to keep to ourselves while we were there as guests.I understood, of course, every werewolf community was ruled by their own Alpha and he decided how he ran the pack. I had only seen Jake’s pack, which I would like to consider as my own when the time came, and I had never seen how another pack was led.Jake was known as a feared Alpha and beloved leader. I knew that the moment we stepped on Green Valley’s territory that we would have to keep up the strong facade and be diplomatic in our decisions.“I know we have to keep up with standard protocol, not give information of your pack away and take this

➳ Pernwél After having breakfast at the roadside restaurant and having recovered from all the revelations that Jake had thrown in my lap, we got ready for the rest of the trip. We had the waitress order us some salads and sandwiches to take with us for lunch. We drove from the mountains where the Grey Moon pack had their territory, onto the vast landscapes of the valley and forest that spanned the horizon. I pondered over Jake’s words about the Green Valley pack. Now, I had to mentally prepare for things that weren’t found in my normal environment. I needed to assess the situation like I would do from a warrior's point of view, observe, keep quiet and only speak the necessary words. We passed through fields lined with flowers, adding spots of various colours to the viridescent landscape as it blurred pa

➳ Pernwél We roamed through the territory, passing vendors and shops. It would have almost been romantic if it weren’t for the Green Valley pack members that followed us around, watching our every move like hawks. Jake explained to me the reason for their odd behaviour and it kind of made sense, but I was feeling more uncomfortable by the passing minute. I wasn’t used to being the center of attention and even if I shouldn’t be afraid, because I had Jake and my own fighting skills, it was still unpleasant to be observed blatantly like this. When we finally made it back to the pack house, Zane had one of his staff take us to a room that we would be staying in. I almost gasped when the door opened. Like the entire lake village, all the housing was

He was as black as a night without stars.“What could you possibly give me?” His voice boomed through the room as he held me up by my throat, eyeing me as if I disgusted him. I had failed him, by loving another man.“More power?” I tried throwing him something he would be interested in, maybe I could offer him a spell or a brew that could make him happy, a reason to spare Viggo’s life.“I have everything I need.” He snarled. “And if I would want something else I would take it with a snap of my fingers.” He hissed against the skin of m

🐾 Alpha Jake Three years had passed since the dreadful attack from Selmor, and a peaceful time had come to the Grey Moon pack. The ancestor, Darach, the oak tree from Agmysther had been the only thing that remained in our Realm. Except for the Druid, Grendal and his wife’s body that stayed behind as well. We lost many pack members that day and had a proper rite burial by the magical oak tree that was now a part of our land. The magical powers from the Third Realm had left the area and hadn’t returned, which we all were grateful for. Our pack rebuilt and repaired damages in the following months after the war. We lost over twenty pack members and we tried our best to provide solace for their mates and children. It was hard, it always is after a battle, but this one took more away than we had bargained for. 🐾 Luna Pernwél The moment that I regained consciousness in Jake’s arms I knew there was something wrong with me; a piece missing. I didn’t feel the Awen flow through me anymore. I felt drained, like a current of energy had struck through me, leaving me empty. My eyes fluttered against Jake’s chest, he had shifted back into his human form to carry me and I couldn’t recall for a moment what had just happened. I opened my eyes to see the blue sky above our heads, the sight startled me and I tried to wriggle free from Jake’s arms. He wouldn’t have it and he clutched me closer to him. “How do you feel?” He spoke with a sad raspiness to his voice. His emotions of worry whipped around me, striking me with their icy shards. “I don’t know.” I responded, finding my own voice. “The l

🐾 Alpha Jake I never had encountered such creatures in my life as the ones that flanked Selmor in the back of the battle field. Pernwél invaded my thoughts over mindlink explaining that they were rare creatures from Agmysther, mountain giants from the North. My breathing cut inside my throat and I struggled to swallow the ball of nerves down. These creatures from another Realm, the mountain giants, had the colour of the earth and were bare with the exception of a cloth covering their loins. Their heads reached the highest tree tops and a shudder wacked through me in the realization that the battle had taken an enormous turn in our disadvantage. While the poisoned arrows were doing their work, I noticed from my peripheral that they didn’t do the giants much harm. It seemed like everything we threw at th

🐾 Beta RuneThese last few weeks have been intense. Preparing for a new battle while carrying a pup in the beginning of the third trimester was harder than I expected. I wasn’t as physically strong as the female pack warriors, but I wasn’t fighter material. I was a healer in every sense of the word.I tried to not let fear overwhelm me. I knew that our pack was strong and that we would fight until the threat was eradicated. Grey Moon was known as one of the most brutal packs regarding training. Even though you got to know the people that ran it on a personal level, you couldn’t be in a better place. Werewolves knew Grey Moon and not to pick fights with them. Sadly, Alpha Markus did and we had to bury four pack members. I had the feeling that fighting these Dark Elves would be harder and there would be more casualties.

🐾 Luna Pernwél Everything was finally coming together. In a week we had managed to prepare so much in record time. Jake had decided to use the building next to the pack house as a storage space filling every room with the leftover materials from the attack against Cold Creek. We had everything at our disposal all under one roof. The poisoned arrows, courtesy of Rune, would be a weapon that no-one would see coming. We had created something so deadly, that one hit in the right place would see our enemy dead within minutes. It would take just a few seconds before they rolled around in excruciating pain that caused every muscle in their bodies to spasm and convulse. I handpicked the best archers and taught them what to do. With such a lethal concoction on the arrowheads, we didn’t want them to

I never had any parents and now I had them sitting behind me in the vehicle.I had been raised completely as an orphan, thinking I had no family at all. It took me one hard fall on my bum into another Realm to find my true family, and then my real one revealed itself. It had been a crazy ride and I sensed that there was a lot more to come. Now that we knew what Selmor wanted and the lengths he was willing to go to get it, we needed to come up with a strategy. One that would destroy their plans of ever returning to the Third Realm with what they want. Our first priority was
