— Leia Steele —

I don’t understand what’s happening to me lately. I keep having moments when I feel like a big chunk of my memory gets zapped from my head and try as I might, I still can’t remember whatever it is.

That was exactly what happened when I opened my eyes and suddenly, I am enveloped in between tall trees and the coldness of the grass underneath me.

I looked up and saw the night sky, the moon shining bright, but there wasn’t a single star around her.

“Ow… what the hell…” I groaned in pain as I lifted my hand and realized why I was hurting — my knuckles were red and slightly swollen, and is that… blood?!

Oh good Goddess, what exactly happened with the Gamma? Or better yet, what exactly did I do to him?

Gathering from the fact that I don’t seem to have any external injuries, it means that the blood on my hand is definitely not mine.

Think, Leia. Think!

I wrapped my arms around my knees, put my head in between, and closed my eyes, trying to figure out what could have possib

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 22: Bad Liar

    — Leia Steele —There must certainly have been a moment where I blacked out, because the next thing I know, the Dark Alpha is looking at me smolderingly with his eyes completely focused on me. I gulped. “Are you feeling alright, Darkling?”Darkling, he says. It’s like the combination of the words ‘dark’ and ‘darling’. It’s an odd thing to be called, but for some reason, every time he does it, my heart skips a little. I nodded my head slowly and he squeezed my hand even more in what seemed like acknowledgement. I’m all sorts of nervous and bewilderness at this point, but I tried my best not to let it show. Unfortunately, I know I’m doing a terrible job at it, because this whole situation immediately brings me back to last night and how he may or may not have touched more than just my hand. My cheeks flare at the thought of what we did, and I began to wonder if I should bring it up, but the fear of it actually not being real stops me.What the hell would he say if it turns out that

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 23: Lesson One

    — Leia Steele —I don’t know what it is about me being around the Dark Alpha, but all of a sudden, it’s as if I’m completely and utterly hypnotized by Viktor Morgenstar. It seems so impossible to think about considering that just yesterday, I was absolutely terrified of possibly being near him and now… now all I can think about is what it would feel like if he did touch me, if he fucked me with his fingers like he did last night, but this time, I would be completely aware of everything that was going on around me.I would know that he was real, and this was all really happening. The Dark Alpha groaned deeply into my ear as he adjusted me on his lap. I felt my pussy ache instantly at the hardness of his manhood rubbing on me. Should I stay or should I run? What did he say was going to happen if I run again? Oh yeah, he would punish me.Why did that thought somehow excite me though?Oh, goddess. What is happening to me?I gasped in surprise when I was taken aback as he pulled my hair d

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 24: Soaking Wet

    — Viktor Morgenstar —There’s a sense of energy crawling up in my spine. It’s strong… getting even stronger by the second. And I know exactly what it is as it is staring straight at me. Eyes with nothing but black, not an inch of any other color to be found. Heartbeat thumping loudly. Breathing deep and calculated. It’s her.Or rather, it’s my Little Darkling. She’s come out to play and oh, how I love a good game in the night. “Fuck me, huh?” I said with an amused scoff before pushing myself back up. Christ, she did a number on my back when she punched me against the tree. I could feel the scratches and bits of blood dripping behind me, but I could give less of a fuck. I would heal in seconds, but this, this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. For her to finally feel the shadow and at the same time, not black out from its power. This was her actual first lesson. I needed her to find her anger within so that it could release the Shadow holed up inside. “You… you asked for it…”

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 25: Miss Darkness

    — Viktor Morgenstar —‘What’s the status? How many are there?’ I mindlink with both my Beta and Gamma.‘Approximately, eight to eleven rogues, Alpha.’ My Gamma responds almost instantly. ‘Now how the flying fuck did that many rogues get on our land out of nowhere?’ I answered back while tilting my head to see how Leia was doing. From the outside, it’s obvious that she has no idea about what the hell is going on, her eyes wandering left and right while she holds on as tight as she can on my back.On the inside though, I can still feel the Dark Shadow in her lingering. It was a good thing I had riled it up earlier so it can stay to watch the show later on.‘I got info that the other Pack was holding them as captive for training, but something had gone wrong and when one got out, they couldn’t hold them back any longer.’ Beta Calypso answered. The other Pack? The closest one to us is about five hundred miles away which are the Rabid Hounds. “Fuck’s sake,” I grumbled under my breath. Of

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 26: All Hers

    — Leia Steele —Things are somehow a blur, but at the same time, I am aware of everything that happened. From the time the Dark Alpha appeared in the forest, to when he made me angry, to when we did… those things, to the rogues he and his Beta and Gamma fought with, and finally… to when I fought with one.All of it happened so fast, but the pieces were complete in my head and remembering it gave me a horrible migraine.I let out a drawn out groan as I adjusted myself onto the bathtub, my back against the marble, and my knees drawn to my chest, as the warm water flowed around me.“Are you alright there?” The question comes from the man on the other side of the curtain. It was Viktor, and for a second I had almost forgotten he had been here this whole time, but then I remembered earlier and how, for some reason, I had asked him to stay.Oddly enough, being close to him soothed something in me, and after what happened, I desperately needed a good soothing.”Y— yes… I’m alright. Just… I fe

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 27: The First

    — Leia Steele —I couldn’t believe the sounds I let out even came from my own mouth. They were nothing like I have ever experienced before, almost as if they weren’t even human-like.As he continued to thrust in me from behind, I felt my pussy clench. Being fingered was one thing. This… being fucked by the Alpha of the Shadow Claws himself was a completely different thing. My body was getting so hot and I felt sweaty all over. I can’t believe this is happening. What was even crazier was that this was also my first time. I was a virgin, so that meant, Viktor Morgenstar, he… he was taking my virginity with one powerful thrust at a time.I told him to fuck me hard, and it was exactly what he was doing.“So tight, my little Darkling. You’re… so… fucking… tight…” He moans into my ear as he pulls me closer to him with his arm wrapped around my chest and his hand on my neck.He suddenly tilts my head towards his and kisses me with fervent passion. I had no idea how turned on I would get wi

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 28: Her Betrayal

    — Leia Steele —I laid on the silky sheets for what seemed like hours thinking of reasons as to why he would have been in a rush, but try as I might, I couldn’t come up with anything that made sense to me. Eventually, I felt my body start to feel fatigued and just when I thought there was no way I could fall asleep in this situation, I passed out in seconds. The next morning, I woke up with the smell of bacon, eggs, and waffles. I thought I was dreaming and I felt my mouth already salivating, but then someone spoke up.“I can see your drool from here, Steele.” What the hell?! Okay, definitely not a dream then! Somehow, it just never is one around here recently. My eyes shoot open and I am greeted by Beta Calypso leaning against the door frame with a plate of said food. I quickly swiped my mouth with the back of my palm, cleared my throat, and acted as if he just didn’t see all of that. “Um… good morning?” I told him before looking behind me to verify if the sun was still up.“Aft

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 29: Future Luna

    — Leia Steele —It wasn’t supposed to be like this. I was supposed to fight the Dark Alpha, supposed to defend the girls and I. Katja, my closest friend, I was supposed to avenge her.Oh my god, where did it all go wrong? What have I done?“That’s— that’s not what happened! I didn’t lie!” I said, trying to defend myself.I wasn’t sure if I was doing that, or just consoling myself, making me believe that I was still a good person amidst all of this. “Then what the hell are you doing here? Tell me what happened on that night you came in here!” Jane demanded, her voice much louder now.It was a really good thing this place was soundproof because if anybody heard her from outside, I would be scared of what they would do to Jane.I let out a disgruntled sigh as I wracked my brain trying to figure out how to tell her because even I couldn’t believe it myself. I still remember exactly what happened. How I was staring at my friend’s cold and lifeless body, and then the next… the Dark Alpha w

    — Zane Frost — I hadn’t heard that voice for a while now and it did sound like it could have gotten a bit deeper than before, but I could still distinguish it. Sure enough, when the door swung open, he was all smiles standing in the hallway. Boy, I was not expecting him to have gotten even bigger than he was already before and did he grow a little stubble, too? “I’m back! Surprise!” Skye looked at us beaming excitedly. “Oh, Zane’s here, too! Great! I thought I was going to arrive tomorrow morning, but the journey ended up being a little faster than I thought so— wait a second…” He paused and that’s when I know he finally realized that it wasn’t just me that was also there. “Who… is she?” He blinked at her intrigued. “Well, this is definitely one homecoming I didn’t see coming…” I said with a soft chuckle to lighten up the mood but that didn’t really help. River let out a sigh before confessing to his brother. “This is Eva… my mate.” “Holy. Shit.” Skye reacted in

  • Running With His Heir   Epilogue Part One

    — Zane Frost — Preparations had been going on for a couple of weeks now. Everybody was excited for Skye’s sudden announcement that he was coming back earlier than usual. Even if I hounded him for more information, that boy was like a vault and he didn’t open up, not even to Leia who was itching to know what had made him suddenly want to come back. “What do you think he meant by ‘big news’?” Leia asked as we were in the kitchen, gathering ingredients to make all the dishes we knew everybody, especially Skye, would love. Usually we would leave the Pack chefs in charge of this, but since Leia was having this phase where she wanted to cook anything and everything, I wanted to be there and help her out. “I don’t know. Anything is possible with that guy.” I honestly answered with a shoulder shrug as I passed her the sifted flour she asked for. We were making various baked goods, but first one on the list was skolebrød, which was a bun filled with a gooey and delicious vanilla c

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 83: One True Mate

    — Viktor Morgenstar — Before I jumped into that water, I thought it was the only way to preserve what little I had left in my life. In my mind, it was better to die than to live another day without Leia and our baby. I believed I was as good as dead. Until I got washed away onto land and I took another breath. It was hard to explain exactly what that felt like, but what was worse was having to watch the only love you have ever known get pulled away by somebody else and the baby you desperately wanted cared for men you had no idea of. My Dark Shadow screamed and screamed for me to get them back and though every part of me wanted the same as well, I knew that I no longer deserved them. For the first time in my life, I realized that what I wanted isn’t something that I am always supposed to have. After I knew that Leia and the baby were safe, I knew what I had to do. I had to leave and somehow, in some way, I had to become better. Not just for the family that I lost,

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 82: Two Letters

    — Leia Steele — I have heard and read about countless experiences, many good, many bad, about the newborn stage, but nothing, absolutely nothing can compare to when you are experiencing it yourself. Luckily for me, the phrase ‘it takes a village’ is definitely in effect with the White Howlers. There hasn’t been a minute that I’ve been completely alone with Lux and I couldn’t ask for anything else. Whether it’s Keira offering to help me breastfeed since I was obviously new in all of this and my body was still somewhat recovering thus producing less than ideal, or Skye and the other boys more than happily entertaining him during tummy time with all sorts of antics, or even the usually stoic Alpha Titus excitedly playing with Lux and Zora, his and Keira’s baby girl, everybody has been an absolute gem every single day. But of course, only one person has truly never left my side, and that is— “Zane Frost!” I heard a very passionate squeal on the other side of the door where

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 81: Our Baby

    — Leia Steele — I woke up feeling somewhat… amazing, which is a completely baffling thing because as far as I can recall, I just fell off a cliff and dove into water while I was bleeding to death. How the hell does it feel like my body is completely healed? Or the fact that I even woke up because I could have sworn I thought I wasn’t going to make it out of there alive? Or wait… I sat up from the bed and frantically began to look around and take in my surroundings, trying to figure out where I was. Maybe I am dead?! “I can see from the very astounded expression on your face right now that you think you’ve somehow woken up in another space or timeline.” I turned to where the sound came from and saw a beaming familiar face. “Skye!” I couldn’t help but squeal his name out of pure happiness to see him, and he looks good at that. “Hey, tough one. Glad to see you’re doing good. No pain, right?” He asked as he walked over to sit on the chair next to me. I noticed tha

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 80: Before/After

(Two Years Later) — Zane Frost — I am seated at the edge of the lake. The very spot I always find myself in whenever I go here. I don’t know why, but my body just somewhat gravitates to this place every single time without fail. Even now when seeing the sight of water still triggers a memory in me, I still stay here. My eyes closed as I laid down on the grass. Winter has gone, exchanged for Spring, and all the snow has melted, replaced with flowers of different colors that had bloomed a new life. A new life, it repeated in my head. That is what Spring is; the beginning of something new. Perhaps everyone, every single person in this world has had a moment that has split their life into two. When you look back at your days, there is something that changed you, some specific time that you know was cataclysmic to your entire existence. A moment that creates what happened before and what happened after. It shades your memories in a different perspective just as it shi

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 79: Free Fall

    — Leia Steele — “AAAAAAHHHHHH!” I screamed and screamed until it felt like my lungs were going to give out at any second. It was hard to focus on anything aside from the crippling pain that was coming from my belly but transmitting all throughout my entire body. Viktor had quickly pulled me out of the room where the coronation was happening and when I thought he was rushing me to the Pack’s infirmary, he turned a different way that I had no idea where it was leading to. “AAAAAAHHHHHH!” More screams come out of me and I swear it feels like somebody is ripping my belly open. The sound of commotion seems like it’s following us. Left and right I hear people screeching as well as things being destroyed to the ground as the earth itself shook. “Wh— what’s… h— happening…” I managed to get the words out of me as I squirmed in pain as Viktor carried me in his arms tightly. In my mind, I wished somebody else was holding onto me, but my body was a betrayer, lavishing in the

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 78: Awakened Vengeance

    — Zane Frost — I feel like absolute shit. Maybe that in itself is even an understatement because from my head to my toes, it’s like I’m being pushed onto the ground by twenty six-wheelers trucks. That is excluding the fact that my head feels like I’ve been pushed out of a plane and I’m currently twirling around and around fifty thousand feet up in the air. Holy shit. What the fuck is going on? “Zane? Zane! You’re awake?! Guys, he’s awake!” I heard a familiar voice shout out and I flinched in pain almost immediately. There was a loud echo in my ears and I thought my head was going to burst. “Shit, sorry,” the voice mumbled an apology. “Wr du hl m ei…” I tried to speak, but I doubt the letters that came out of my mouth could even form a single understandable word. My suspicions were proven correct when the person next to me burst out into a fit of laughter. If I had the energy to smack them, I would have done it, but alas, aside from being able to move my lips

  • Running With His Heir   Chapter 77: Monsters Bleed

    — Zane Frost — Chaos. Madness. Death. It was left and right. It was almost impossible to escape, but I kept pushing. I told myself that I had to. I knew I had to for her, for Leia, for Keira, for everybody in my Pack and Alpha Titus’. This was all our fight and we had to end this today. No matter what. As soon as anyone tried to come after me, I fought to kill. I don’t think about anything else, but to get the upper hand. The very first time you hesitate, there’s no coming back from that. I see the bloodthirst in their eyes and in the way they growl. These wolves are different. Whilst the White Howlers and Blazing Wolves were trained to mostly defend themselves from the enemies, these ones were trained to do no defending, only killing, like they were all raised to be killing machines. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before, but I had to keep up with them if I had to get to Leia. When I saw her get dragged into that house out of nowhere, it was like a switch
