Ella’s POV

As Esther and I, left Selena’s place, we headed straight to the palace. Our mind was crowded as we each stuck to ourselves, pondering over what Selena had proposed and the condition that David was actually in.

As we got to the garden, Esther let out a sigh and I turned my eyes to her.

“Do you think she could be right?” she blurted out and I could tell she had been thinking about it for a very long time. Her eyes shone under the bright light of the afternoon sun and her shoulders tensed up as she waited for my reply.

Looking back to my insides, I had no response for her. I didn’t know what to believe either but what was certain was that David was going to die, whether we intervened or not.

“I don’t know. But we are going to stop Michael and Aunt Emily. That’s for sure,” I replied, and we continued walking.
