Chapter 40: Secret (4)

Dylan's POV

It was summer, but I felt freezing. My body was heavy, and I didn't know what kind of blanket I wore. Instinctively, I rolled into the nearby heat source. But soon, I discovered something strange: why was someone else in my bed?

Startled, I opened my eyes, and the faint night light was turned on. I looked at Bernie in bewilderment, wide-eyed, sitting on my bed, and asked, "Bernie, why are you sleeping at my house?"

I don't overthink, but Bernie's face doesn't look perfect. Moreover, he looked unhappy and even more scared than the ignorant me. I blinked, looking at the blankets and decor of the room. It wasn't much different from before I fell asleep.

My mind became hazy, asking, "Did my parents bring you up here?"

Suddenly, remembering the little secret box, I immediately asked: "Did you touch anything in my room?"

"What do you mean?" Bernie furrowed his brows and asked me seriously, "What are you hiding from me?"
