MATTEO

I pulled the phone from my ear to stare at the caller ID again, making sure it was Vito who called and not someone else. Did he have a twin?

Placing it back, I asked, "That's why you called?"

"Yes, sir."

Well, damn! Just what the heck did she do that made my loyal dog question my orders? "Your order was simple," was it her face? Did she cry? That cry face was beautiful and irresistible -- charming too seeing as how I fucked her in the alley without thinking.

"Pick her up and take her back to the house."

"Yes, boss. I'm really sorry-"

What did she have in that junk that she needed anyways? "Fine. Take her there and bring her back as soon as possible. Don't make me call you."

"Okay, boss."

I hung up, tossing the phone aside just when the door opened. I didn't remember hearing a knock but there were a few people who could do that and she was one of them. Uriel walked in, smiling at me as she shut the door behind her.

"I'm surprised you're here," she said, flipping her Ombre hair.

MATTEO“Where were you? We almost got hit last night,” Luca stormed behind me as I made my way to the office. “Almost. Do you know what would’ve happened if our perfect record got tainted? Dante wouldn’t hesitate to throw us under the bus, and with Russo’s new political interest-““Yes, I fucking know. It could drag him down,” I sighed. “But we already control a good number of cops. What’s the worry?"“The worry is that,” he bumped against me from behind in his bid to walk past me and he blocked my path with folded arms and a disappointed look. “Uriel called. She’s worried sick about you.”“She stopped by, saw Camille. I don’t know what they talked about but I can already imagine. Now, cargo,” I snapped my fingers, “What’s going on?”“We need to get our men off the streets-"“No, absolutely not,” my head ached by the minute and I loosened my tie. I was suddenly irritated, annoyed, pissed off. Good pussy made me spill my background and I still can’t believe I was talking about that to

  • Run, Camille, Run   41. The Visit

CAMILLEI woke up a few minutes ago and snuck out of Matteo's embrace to get some water when I saw a woman in the hallway. Her beauty captivated me. Her long black hair in her white suit made her appear like a goddess. Unlike Russo, there was no big bang to her entry and that could only mean she knew Matteo well enough for him to hand out his passcode- I didn't even have that. With no words said, she turned around and walked away, the soft click of her heels quietly disappearing down the stairs. I looked back to the bedroom, I could go back in and wake him up, but the curious part of me wanted to know what this was all about.Matteo wouldn't tell me any truth, maybe she would? I followed her quietly and found her waiting. She never gave me the signal she wanted to talk, but I could tell. The way her hands folded into a fist, the calm annoyance on her face– who was she? The wife? The long-time ex? The baby mama? A man like Matteo should have a couple of kids flying around. They never k

MATTEOCamille stiffened before my eyes, her lips parting as she searched my face. Where was the fear for her father's life? The worry he could die and I could kill him if I found him again? When she licked her lips, I found myself following the action and part of my anger was nowhere to be found. They bailed out on me just by a simple swipe of her tongue on her lush lips."I know I can't ask you to let him go," she murmured quietly, instead of keeping her eyes down like always, she was looking right at me.Something changed in this woman and I couldn't place my hand on it.Did she relax around me-- the devil or did she say 'fuck it' to the wind and no longer cared about whatever happened to her?"You have me instead," she tucked her beautiful hair behind her ears-- she still kept the colour from her escape with Dante.Beautiful? Snap out of it, Matteo. It's just pussy."But if you do find him, please by all means, take the organ you need. He's an old man and I still have my life ahea

CAMILLEI woke up to a sharp pain from my lower abdomen. I clutched my stomach, groaning softly as the familiar dull throb intensified. Oh no! I hope I didn't stain the sheets.Waves after waves, it crashed into me till I almost curled into a ball."You alright?" Matteo's voice boomed from behind me, he started to sit up.This couldn't get any worse.I tried to roll out of bed but his arm stopped me, "Where are you going?""I need to pee," I groaned, frustration lacing my voice."What's with the attitude?" he asked softly, curious and concerned? I shook off the feeling and started to get up, trying not to crouch to get more attention than necessary."Why are you still here?" it was just afternoon and he could be at work. I glanced at the sheets, trying to find any stain with my eyes. I was afraid if I moved it then we'd all see the mess I've made.He rubbed his eyes, looking hotter than expected. Glad to know my libido worked just fine. "You were ordered to keep me home."With what we

MATTEOThe loud bang rocked the house and her scream pieced the air. What a drama queen! "You're about twenty feet away from the damage, Camille," I snapped once I slid into my car and started to drive out. Frankie and Johnny rushed out of the house, aiming their guns at my car but they did not dare open fire.It was bad enough to shoot at a Russo but it was worse if that Russo was me.Glaring at the pussies from the rearview mirror, I made it out of the house and raced into the road, drifting through cars and almost causing an accident."Stop! Stop the car already! Matteo!" Camille's scream was endless. She bounced in her seat, a terrifying look on her face but other than the panic in her voice, I paid no attention to her words. Didn't listen until we got home.I grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out when she continued to prove stubborn. "Keep walking or I'll drag you across the tiles, just you wait.""Let go of me, Matteo! Let go!" she struggled harder, pinching my hand on her.

MATTEO I pressed my foot harder on the gas pedal, my heart thumping in sync with the hum of the engine, each beat screaming her name. When one of my boys alerted me that the old man stopped by and worse, blew up my door and left with my guest, I stormed out of my office, boiling with rage. He better not lay hands on her! I'll come after him and his fucking son! “Get out of ten fucking way!” I screamed, gripping the wheels tight. Every time I closed my eyes, all I saw was a blurred image of blood. Her, lying on the ground, beat up and her dress cut open. Fuck. I was struggling for my breath, the thought of her in danger sending my heart into overdrive. My chest tightened with an ache. Fuck all the traffic signs! I could deal with the cops later. Her soft voice pleading to be saved, begging for mercy, for him to stop— shit! I stepped on it! Harder, wishing the car would go faster and faster, open yet just fly. I pulled into the house, jumped out of the seats and Gareth waited
