Myra's P.O.V
“I’m sorry, sir.” I murmured, my voice hardly heard as I lowered my gaze to the floor.“Your apology will not change the fact that you caused us a loss, Myra.” The manager of the hotel, where I worked in the housekeeping department, growled through gritted teeth. His voice echoed through the room, causing me to tremble in fear.My heart raced, and I trembled in fear as memories of past traumas flashed through my mind.“Just because you have been one of our punctual employees, we forgive you. However, you must repay the amount.” He continued in a serious tone. His every word sent shivers down my spine, returning me to a time when voices like his had struck me with terror.I nodded, trembling, unable to find the words to respond. I stood there, paralyzed by fear as he glared at me.“Now clean up the mess you made, and the rest of you, is there a movie playing? Get lost.” He barked, and I jumped, hearing the loud voice, which made others laugh at me.I bit my lip, fighting back tears, and forced myself to remain composed.“Please clean the floor, princess.” The manager just gave me a look of disbelief before mocking me, while I just looked down, embarrassed at my behaviour. After giving me one last look, he marched out.As I bent down to pick up the shattered plate from the floor, my hand shook uncontrollably. Unfortunately, one sharp piece pierced my skin, and I clenched my teeth in pain.Blood, though a mere trickle, drove me crazy. I panicked because images of bloodstained memories flashed before my closed eyes.I frantically rubbed the crimson stain onto my dark black skirt with my eyes squeezed shut, trying to escape the sight of my blood. Blood had always made me feel uneasy since I was a child.“Myra, are you alright?” My eyes flickered open at the sound of Rudra’s concerned voice. He looked at me, genuine worry etched on his face.“Yes, Rudra, I’m fine.” I assured him, blinking back tears that threatened to overflow. I couldn’t share the true reason of my distress with him because I had to carry it alone.“I’m so sorry, Myra. It’s because of me you have to bear this.” As Rudra apologized, I could see the guilt in his eyes.I admired him as he worked in the hotel as a part-time job. At just 18, he balanced his studies and work to support his family financially. My heart felt heavy with my past trauma, but I reassured him, “It’s alright.”“No, it’s not alright, Myra. I acted like a coward in front of the manager. It was my clumsiness that caused the plates to break, and instead of speaking up, I froze. Seeing my fear, you took the blame upon yourself. And now, they will deduct money from your salary because of me. I’m truly sorry, Myra,” Rudra confessed, his eyes filled with remorse.I exhaled deeply and tried my best to lessen his guilt.“Rudra, please calm down. I knew the consequences I would face would only result in a deduction from my salary, which is perfectly fine. I live alone and have no one depending on me, so the money I earn here is more than enough. But you have a whole family relying on you, so it’s completely understandable. I take the blame myself. You didn’t force me to do it. So please, stop blaming yourself.” I patted his head, giving him a reassuring smile.“You’re a sweetheart, Myra. Thank you so much.” Rudra murmured, a genuine smile spreading across his lips.“No problem at all. Now, go on and attend to your duties.” I encouraged him.He insisted, “No! Let me help you first.”“It’s alright. My shift is over, and after cleaning this mess, I’ll head to the servant quarters. I’ll manage.” I assured him.“Are you sure?”“Yes, Rudra. Now, stop feeling guilty and go.” I insisted, smiling and nodding my head.“Okay. Thanks again, Myra.” He expressed.“It’s alright, Rudra.”***After tidying up the floor, I returned all the cleaning supplies to the housekeeping room before going to the back of the hotel, where permanent staff members had small servant quarters. As I entered my room, I immediately kicked off my heels and let out a sigh of relief. My feet were sore after the eight-hour shift spent cleaning and walking in those heels.“Damn, it feels so good,” I murmured under my breath, massaging my foot to ease the pain after sitting on the sofa. The fears that haunted me gradually subsided, leaving behind a hope that someday I would find the strength to overcome them.“You were such a fool!” I opened my eyes, startled, listening to Roshini’ words. She stood at the door, arms crossed, glaring at me. Roshini, my roommate and only friend in this city.It had been a year since I met Roshini. I had come to Delhi to Mumbai to escape the haunted memories of my past and live life on my rules. Initially, I had planned to attend college, but because of financial conditions, I ended up working as a staff member in a large hotel’s housekeeping department. When I first learned that Roshini would be my roommate, I was terrified. She seemed intimidating at first, but I quickly learned not to judge a book by its cover, because she turned out to be a sweetheart, showing me immense love and care, even though she knew nothing about my past. She always lifted my mood when I was feeling down. I was grateful to meet her.“Huh?” I asked, confused by her accusation.“What you did out there was incredibly stupid, and you know it!” She continued to glare at me, and I looked up to the heavens, silently wishing I wasn’t in this situation.“Rosh, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.” I tried to play innocent, but my voice quiver as I met her piercing gaze. “Let’s drop this conversation, please.” I pleaded, pouting and looking at her. She only glared at me.“Shut up, Myra. Your sweetness and kindness will only bring trouble to you someday.” She replied, growing annoyed, and I smiled at her frustration.“Now stop smiling, you fool.” She chided, her glare intensifying, and my smile broadened.“You know what? You’re the definition of a best friend.” I hugged her, and she reluctantly embraced me, exhaling a long breath.“Just because I hugged you back doesn’t mean I’m not angry at you for the stunt you pulled. Stop being so good, Myra. This world won’t leave you at peace if you don’t change.” She spoke, concerned, pulling away from the hug.“Rosh-”She cut me off.“I’m afraid for you, babes. I’m afraid that your kindness will destroy you one day.” She sighed, and I stood there silently, trying to understand her words.“Rosh, whatever I do, I don’t do it to appear like a good girl or anything. It’s just that I’m being practical, and I can’t change who I am, right? My heart told me to help him, and we both knew that punishment meant nothing to me. I’ve already been through so much in my life that these little things don’t affect me.”“Myra—““Throughout my life, all I saw was my mother crying or filled with worry for my safety. I never once saw that expression of love and happiness on her face because of me. And now that she’s gone, all I do is regret and curse myself for being like this. But I wonder what I did so wrong to deserve all this. So, I try to do what I’ve always craved, Rosh. Trust me. The thing I did out there was something I truly enjoyed.” Tears streamed down my face as memories of my mother flooded my mind.“Babe, please don’t cry. I’m sorry. Please,” Rosh said, guilt washing over her, causing me to smile faintly.“You see? I made you sad. This is what I always do. I can’t stop making the people who care for me sad.” As the words left my lips, she gave me a sorrowful expression. Despite her skill in concealing emotions, my tears always made her feel down.“No, babes, it’s not like that. You actually made me happy. Look.” She smiled widely, making me chuckle amidst my teary eyes.“Shut up!” I wiped away my tears. “By the way, I’m thinking of making some muffins for you today.” Listening to my words, Roshini squealed in happiness.“Muffins made by you are magic, Myra. I can’t wait to have them. You are the best...” She sang the word best and danced with joy, her giggles filling the room.I loved it. Witnessing the joy on people’s faces brought me immense contentment. It was what brought me peace.I watched her, but she pulled me asking me to join in her madness, to which I immediately agreed and joined Roshini in her dance. Together, we laughed and twirled around the room, letting go of all the worries of our lives. As I prepared the ingredients for the muffins, Rosh asked to help. We worked side by side, our laughter filling the kitchen as we chitchatted. As we sat down at the small dining table, enjoying the warm muffins and a cup of coffee, I felt grateful for her friendship and support. In her presence, I felt safe and understood, knowing that she accepted me for who I was, flaws and all.We cleaned up the kitchen, and then I bid Roshini goodnight. As I fell into a slumber, a smile graced my lips, knowing that somewhere, it had pleased my mom to see me spreading happiness to others. The joy I couldn’t give her. I promised to share with everyone I could.Zayn’s P.O.V."How is he doing, doctor?" I asked, clutching the phone, trying hard to control my emotions.I couldn't fall weak. I couldn't!"He's still the same, King." I closed my eyes, hearing the response, which I had a clue about, but every time my heart wanted it to be different. I didn't want to face it again."Take care of him." After saying this, I quickly hung up the phone and wiped the lone tear that was trying to escape my eyes without my permission."I know whatever I say won't make you feel any better, but like I always say, I'll repeat it. You're not alone in this. You know that, right?" As I heard Kabir's words, a faint smile spread across my face. He placed his hand on my shoulder from behind, hoping for a response. After turning around, I responded, giving him a sad smile. "I know, Kabir." He just stared at me for a good ten seconds before engulfing me in a hug. I closed my eyes, almost falling weak, and hugged him to gather some courage.Kabir and I had been best fr
Zayn’s P.O.V.After exhaling a deep breath, I settled down on my large black leather chair in my office. Leading the Russian Mafia was hard, but I couldn't let all the sacrifices, training, and torture go to waste without reaching my goal.I had been in the Mafia since the incident that took place in my childhood when I was only fourteen. It had been eleven years since that incident, but I still felt the same pain even now. But one day, I would certainly find closure, and I knew what I had to do.Mr. Shrikant Oberoi!Yes, only the death of this man could cause me closure.A knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts. I looked up and saw Marco and Kabir entering my office."We finally got the information, Zayn," Kabir said, and Marco nodded."About?" I asked."Shrikant Oberoi." I clenched my fists upon hearing his name.He informed, "This time the yearly meeting of all the billionaires to meet and interact is happening in India, and as Shrikant Oberoi is from India, it's quite obvi
Myra’s P.O.V.We pressed the lift button, eagerly waiting for it to arrive and take us down.Boy, oh boy, we had been walking in these heels all morning, and the idea of trekking down 15 floors was definitely not appealing. It was a difficult task; I tell you!My poor feet were screaming in agony, and all I wanted was to reach the ground floor, retreat to my room, and slip into some cosy clothes. Ahh, the mere thought of that comfort made me close my eyes and let out a moan of relief. These heels were seriously killing me!As the lift doors opened, I sighed. I had expected an empty lift, but to my surprise, five women stepped out. They were dressed up like, umm... I know I shouldn't judge someone by their outfits, but their outfits are slightly way too on the revealing side. I mean, just a strap is holding their dress and there's nothing hidden? Okay. I should stop it.But something I didn’t understand. How did they even get here? The top two floors were only accessible with a passcode
Kabir’s P.O.V.As I settled down on the plush couch in my suite, exhausted, I muttered to myself, “Finally, some rest.”It was 3:30 a.m. and Zayn had ventured out to the hotel garden for some fresh air, while I craved the solace of my room.Just as I was about to close my eyes and sleep, I heard a knock on the door. I let out an annoyed sigh and called out, “Who is it?”A male voice came from the other side, “Sir, it’s me, the manager.” I clenched my teeth, trying to keep my anger in check.“Come in,” I reluctantly said, permitting him to enter. He opened the door and stepped inside, looking nervous. I cut him off before he could say anything, my voice firm. “You better have a good reason for disturbing me.”He stammered, clearly intimidated by my presence. “Y-yeah, sir.” I could see the sweat forming on his forehead. “For your relaxation, I’ve got something special planned to help you unwind,” he quickly explained, his voice trembling. My curiosity sparked, and I raised an eyebrow, a
Roshini’s P.O.V.I got startled to hear the apology from the man who was ready to shoot me a few minutes back.“Huh? Did you actually apologise?” I asked, my surprise evident in my voice.Just moments ago, this intense and brooding man had me on edge with his aggressive demeanour, and now he was apologizing. It was unbelievable.“Yes, I’m sorry, Roshini. I misunderstood you with someone else,” he explained, his voice filled with guilt. I stared into his striking grey eyes, searching for any sign of honesty. It was clear he genuinely regretted his actions.“Accept my apology, please.” He implored, holding my hand and placing a soft kiss on it. His unexpected tenderness took aback me.“Just a few minutes back, you were all alpha and now this?” I asked, still staring at him.Sometimes, I just couldn’t resist speaking my mind.I found myself drawn to both his strong alpha side and his unexpected gentleness. It was an intriguing combination.“Alpha? Or more like a pervert!” As he asked, ra
Zayn’s P.O.V."I really need to fucking see my actions. What the fuck I was doing?" I murmured under my breath and unlocked my room door in haste. I was shocked to find two attractive Indian girls sitting on the bed, clad only in lingerie, and they gave me a seductive smile while gazing at me.Then I noticed a note placed between them. I moved closer to read the note, stepping towards them and pulling it out without even glancing in their direction. The note read, 'Gift for our boss. Hope you like it, sir. The Manager.'I glanced at the note and then at the girls, hoping their presence would distract me from the girl who was driving my mind insane."Start your work," I ordered them in a stern voice. They both looked at each other and then at me, completely intimidated by my tone."Fast," I said, staring at them. Both got startled, and immediately one girl knelt on the floor in front of me, while the other one knelt on the bed. The one on the bed started unbuttoning my belt, and the ot
Zayn’s P.O.V.After taking a quick nap, I dressed in my navy blue tuxedo. It was already noon, and we had to discuss the plan.In three days, there was a meeting for which I had come here. I was going to meet that Oberoi there, so we had to prepare for it.I had to make this visit useful. Initially, I wanted to kill Oberoi, but now I aimed to destroy him. I wanted to ruin his business and everything he had. He had shaken my whole life. Everything he did for money, he backstabbed my dad for money. For him, everything came after money, and I wanted to snatch everything away from him. I was determined to ruin him, and then I would kill him.Yes.I was engrossed in the conversation with my men when a soft knock on the door disturbed us.I closed my eyes to control my anger. I hated getting disturbed during my conversation.“Who the hell is there? Wasn’t there a ‘do not disturb’ sign?” I asked in anger.I could clearly sense the tense atmosphere as everyone tried their best not to show how
Myra’s P.O.V.I stepped out of his room, my heart still racing from the intensity of our encounter. After leaning against the wall, I placed my hand over my chest, trying to catch my breath.Being alone with him in his room had left me feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. The surrounding air still carried his presence, his breath, and the lingering scent of his cologne. It felt as if he was still right there with me, even though he had stepped away. The effect he had on me was undeniable. My heart was pounding so fast, so I exhaled a deep breath, trying to calm myself. It was a sensation I had never experienced before, and it took me by surprise.I closed my eyes, trying to regain control of my emotions, but his piercing blue eyes flashed in my mind.Oh, those blue eyes. I had only heard about how mesmerizing they could be, but seeing them in person was a whole different story. When my hazel eyes met his intense blue gaze, it felt like a magnetic pull drawing me in. His eyes i
Zayn’s P.O.V. I entered the room and my heart pierced as I saw her sobbing, sitting on the edge of the bed. I don’t know what I’m going to say to her, and I don’t know how to console her. I’ve never talked softly with anyone, so I don’t know how to say sweet things to cheer someone up. However, seeing her, I want to do something for her. I desperately want to do something that might bring a smile to her face or stop the tears she is shedding, which are piercing my heart. Shaking my thoughts away, I took a few steps closer to her. “Myr- Myra—” As she looked at me, she stood up immediately in fright, making my heart ache. I didn’t want her to be afraid of me. Never! I approached her and gently cupped her face with my palms. She was looking down, but as soon as my palm touched her, she slowly lifted her hazel eyes to meet mine. We kept staring at each other, but her eyes continued to shed tears, which made me feel even more guilty. “Hey, please don’t cry. You look beautiful
Kabir’s P.O.V.Zayn and I were heading towards his room, both of us seething with anger towards the culprit who had dared to steal the file.Zayn was striding ahead, his steps quickened by his fury, and I hurried to keep pace with him, but out of nowhere, someone yanked me into a corner, leaving me completely shocked. Then, my eyes fell on a person standing in front of me with a smiling face.It was Roshini."You're here? Damn. Was the whole 24 hours of no chatting and calling just an act? You came all this way for me?" She exclaimed, her smile widening, catching me off guard.I opened my mouth to explain that her assumptions were incorrect, but she didn't let me speak."Was I so irresistible that you couldn't resist?" She teased, raising an eyebrow as she flashed a mischievous grin."Rosh-"Before I could finish my sentence, she pressed her lips against mine, pulling me closer by my collar, leaving me stunned. I forgot everything as I responded to the kiss, gripping her waist and pu
Zayn’s P.O.V.As I headed to the airport after confronting my enemy, I was consumed by rage. The person who had shattered my life was living freely, and I couldn’t allow him to find peace, not anymore. My mind churned with the intensity of my fury towards him. He had been within arm’s reach, and I had yearned to end him, to make him suffer.“Relax, Zayn. Please. I understand your feelings. I feel the same, but we need to stay composed.” Kabir said, placing his hand on my shoulder, sitting beside me in the car backseat.“I wanted to kill him, Kabir. Brutally.” I confessed, my gaze burning with fury.“I understand, man. I feel the same. But today, everything unfolded just as we expected,” he replied, and I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself. The meeting and the after-party had proceeded smoothly, and as we had planned, Oberoi himself had approached me regarding the Pune branch of the hotel we intended to open.Well, why wouldn't he? Getting a partnership with a number one billionaire
Zayn’s P.O.V."Zayn, are you ready?" Kabir asked on the call as I stood wearing my black tuxedo with a black shirt. After returning to the room from the garden, I took a hot shower to try to divert my mind from everything. Now it was around 9:30 a.m., and I was all set to leave. Today was very important to me. In the meeting, I would finally confront that rascal Oberoi. We had everything planned; now all we had to do was wait and see how he would approach me. My blood was already boiling at the thought of him. Today, I would finally meet him, and I already had an urge to kill him right there. But no, I decided to wait. I would kill him, but slowly and steadily, making him beg."Yes," I replied. Kabir and Marco were already waiting for me in Pune, with the meeting scheduled for around 11."Don't be late," Kabir teased, and I knew where he was going with that."It's an important day, Kabir. Very important," I replied before ending the call.Exhaling deeply, I reminded myself to stay foc
Roshini’s P.O.V."Come inside, Myra. Stop staring at me with the door open." I tried to act all cool, but inside, my whole body was doing somersaults! She gazed at me for a few moments before stepping inside and locking the door. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath to brace myself for her inevitable questions."What the hell are you wearing? And what were you doing?" She interrogated, approaching me and scrutinizing me from head to toe, her face still flushed with embarrassment."Babe, I was feeling a bit itchy down there," I lied, to save my ass. If I confessed to what I had actually been doing, she would have definitely kicked me out of the room, in just my panties and bra. I knew my bestie well."Ohhh... It must be some infection. I have some V wash. Go use it, you'll feel better," she suggested, her voice filled with concern, but my eyes widened in horror as Kabir burst into laughter over the phone.Shit.Myra and I exchanged wide-eyed glances. I hastily switched off my phone,
Myra’s P.O.V.My heartbeat quickened as soon as he placed his lips on my palm, holding it in his hand. I felt a rush of emotions, like a whole zoo in my stomach. His touch was so soothing and beautiful.I wanted more, but I couldn’t find the words to ask for it. He looked up at me with a smile, his hand still resting on my stomach. He gently placed my hand back in his hair and said, “Continue your magical work,” making me chuckle at his cuteness. I resisted the urge to pull his cheeks, blushed, and obeyed his request.Within a few seconds, he fell asleep on my lap as I applied balm to his forehead. A small smile spread across my face as I watched him sleep like a baby. Even in his sleep, he looked so adorable.I ran my fingers through his silky hair, feeling content. I couldn’t explain why being close to him made me so happy. He had an intimidating presence, but being near him brought me joy. It was a strange feeling, but one I couldn’t deny.I always used to get scared of the high-pi
Zayn’s P.O.V.The rest of the day went by pretty fast. It was noon, and after the morning incident, I didn’t meet Myra as I had some important meetings with clients regarding a new hotel we were thinking of opening in India. After purchasing the anklet for her, I returned to my room, quickly got ready, and headed straight into a meeting.Jackson had bought that store legally. Now, it belonged to me. My frustration peaked when the store employee failed to present the anklet because of its high cost, oblivious to my identity. She made a grave mistake.I immediately fired her. Yes. No one could mess with me. No one!I was the Russian King! I could purchase the entire world and even destroy it.“Send a painkiller to my room. I’m having a terrible headache,” I informed the manager, who accompanied me as I walked through the corridor towards my room.He nodded in response.I continued walking, gently pressing my forehead, feeling a surge of pain. This likely resulted from continuous work wi
Myra’s P.O.V.I closed my eyes, my hand resting on my heart, as I leaned against the door for support. I had just rushed in from the garden, my heart racing and a certain pair of blue eyes kept flashing in my mind. It was Zayn sir. I blushed as the moment I just spent with him replayed in my mind. He looked so adorable when I mentioned the camera thing. Hehe. But he was capturing my picture? Out of everything, he was capturing my picture? Why? Does he— No, no, Myra. Stop it. Don’t think anything nonsensical. He’s your boss. God, what is happening to me? Then my eyes fell on the clock; it was 8 AM. My morning shift started at 9. I had to make breakfast as well. I rushed into the kitchen to prepare pancakes because Roshini loved them. She was still sleeping; well, she had already informed me she had taken a leave today. When I was heading to the garden, I asked where she was coming from, and she mentioned going for a ride, something she usually does. However, this was the f
Kabir’s P.O.V.“So, I finally dropped you off on time, even when you got a little naughty.” She remarked, halting her bike as we arrived in front of my hotel.“As if you were a saint there,” I replied, getting down from her bike and standing in front of her.She laughed, getting off the bike as well, and we stood there in front of my hotel.I grinned, though a twinge of sadness crept in with the reality sinking in.I thought, ‘So, it’s the end?’I had just experienced the best thirty minutes of my life. It was incredible. But now was it time to bid farewell?I couldn’t help but gaze at her, pondering if this was our final meeting.“So... when are we gonna meet again?” She asked, and before I could reply, she cut me off. “There’s always a price to pay when I meet you. You know, losses.” She stated with her arms crossed, and I couldn’t ignore the subtle lift of her chest. And to top it off, her tank top revealed my bite mark as it shifted slightly.“Like what you see?” she teased, snapp
