What deal could he possibly be talking about?

I pressed my ear harder against the door as if the action would help me hear any better. But they had stopped talking. Or rather, their voices had grown quieter.

I pulled the door open loudly now, not caring for the circumstances as I stepped forward.

I heard Vincent groan without turning back and the look on Kelvin's face was priceless. It was a clear picture of shock and then confusion, then finally, betrayal.

"What are you doing here, Kat?" He asked, starting to step forward but Vincent blocked his path in time, which caused Kelvin to turn to him with a raised brow and clenched fists.

"Step aside, or I'll mess your face up." He threatened, but Vincent just calmly answered,

"Does this mean that the deal is off? I was just giving you my word."

"Shove that word up your ass and choke on it. What is she doing in here, half-naked?" Kelvin thundered the question, directing it at Vincent, like I was not even there at all.
