Hazel's button nose scrunched hearing his indecent words. Now she was positive, there had to be some misunderstanding.
She wasn't that kind of girl. The innocence leaking from her face wasn't just deceiving. It reflected her inner self.
"What are you saying, sir?" Her cracked voice beseeched, body working to free herself from tight chains.
Chaining someone to wall was very cruel practice. She would always pass a glare to animal breeders while walking on her way, hating the helpless look of caged animals. Today, getting chained like those animal only increased her hatred for the notion.
"Oh, that won't work, darling. I suggest you stop now if you don't want any other marks in your beautiful body than mine."
His dark words successfully sparked terror inside her.
"And are we gonna play innocent now?" He cocked a brow at her, calmly running his fingers through her exposed forearms, arising goosebumps on spots he caressed.
"Don't touch me." Hazel shrieked, his touch made her felt dirty. All her life she has never been touched like that. Theodore was very respectful in that matter.
Theodore.
His name made her senses numb. She had rebelled him countless times just to stay here. And now the when she was facing the outcome of her rebellious behavior, she could only hope to make out of this mess, without a strand of hair missing from her.
If anything happened to her because of own carelessness, Theodore would investigate the matter later. First, he would break each bone of her body.
Even in hostage of another man, Theodore's fear inside her was more intense.
"I said don't touch me!" She cried out, struggling to shrink away from his burning touch.
"Oh but baby." He gave her an innocent smile, removing his hands from her face. "I have plans to do much more than that." His words made her whimper.
"Oh no, sweetheart don't cry." He coeed in his throaty voice, "It's not like it would be our first time, right? That's what you told my fiancé." He gritted the last two words with utter venom. His long lasting love of five years was destroyed by a mere girl.
His Evelyn was severely gonna be punished once he deals with this girl and gets his own back.
"W-What are you saying?! I didn't s-say anything to a-anyone. There is some m-misunderstanding." Hazel sobbed, pulling her knees near her chest. Her shoulders almost scummbed together in terror when his towering shadow hovered above her, darkening her features.
"Evelyn Watson. Does that ring a bell?" He questioned calmly, although his hands were twitching to wrap around her throat and have his way with her.
Hazel's eyes widened in astonishment. Her mouth gaped own at revelation.
Evelyn was his fiancé? She had never mentioned it to her. Not that Hazel was expecting her to. They weren't very closed.
Then, why would Evelyn lie to his fiancé and made him kidnap her was beyond her understanding.
Edward, who was closely analyzing her reaction let out a snort seeing her appalled face. She had audacity to act naive infront of him.
"I-I never said anything to her. You can ask her." Hazel mumbled after a minute, keeping her eyes lowered on the floor, hiccuping softly.
"You think I didn't?" Edward snapped, bringing his hands closer to her hair and fisting them in tight grip. Her painful scream, afterward followed gave him nothing but immense satisfaction.
"I swear I'm not-" Her whimper was cut short by his fierced growl.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" He roared near her face making her clamp her eyes shut in fright.
Silence followed afterwards, keenly getting disturbed by his harsh breathing and her terrified sobs.
Edward analyzed her teary face. Suddenly, hesitation sprawled in his nerves for second seeing ever so glowing innocence.
Unknowingly, his grip loosened on her hair. His charcoal orbs deeply stared at stream of tears running down her cheeks. They seemed continuous.
Edward brought his lower lip between his teeth, contemplating thoughtfully.
What if he was wrong all this time? What if she really was saying the truth. His conscience doesn't let him live until he repents for hurting an innocent.
His thoughts were disturbed by her soft voice.
"I-I swear, s-sir." She stammered, "I n-never said anything to a-anyone. Let me g-go."
Edward slowly let her hair ago and took a deep breath. Fetching his phone from his front pocket, he dialed Evelyn's number, placing the phone on speaker.
"If I find out you lied, I would break you apart." Edward growled with darkest irises, bringing his palm up and clamping it on her lips, disallowing her to speak.
He kept his stern eyes on her whilst her blurry orbs were on the flashing screen.
"What?" Evelyn's cranky voice snapped suddenly from the phone making Hazel shrunk back.
Soo scared.
Edward winced inwardly, feeling pain in his chest at his love's cranky voice.
"Evelyn." He greeted softly but was met with obnoxiously annoyed voice.
"Edward Arnold! Don't you fucking get it I don't want to do anything with cheaters. Stop running behind me like desperate manwhore!"
Hazel gasped though it was muffled by Edward's palm. Never in her entire life had she seen someone talking this disrespectfully with him. He had very honorable reputation in university.
Edward felt his blood boiling in rage. If it wouldn't be for girl he loved, he would have slashed her tongue the minute she disrespectally screamed his name.
"I want the name of person who told you I was with Hazel in brothel." Edward murmured calmly, though his hold on Hazel's face had grown tight in painful manner.
The question was raised on his character. He would turn the world upside down to avenge the humiliation he had to face today.
"Why? So you could silence their mouth wi-" Her sarcastic reply was cut short by Edward's deep roar, who successfully lost his patience.
"I. SAID. NAME. EVELYN!" There was silence from other side. Even Evelyn Watson, the girl he loved, knew very well not to anger him. His rage wasn't easy to handle. He preferred keeping people in their limits.
Edward pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. This was the first time he had snapped on his love.
He glared at Hazel's scared orbs. All was her fault.
"Was it Hazel herself?" He tried to ask as calmly as he could. Hazel's body was freezing cold with anticipation. She waited for Evelyn to state the truth so she could get out of this mess.
"What?" Edward frowned, hearing shock in her tone. "Who said that?"
Edward felt his muscles tensing with her reaction.
"Chloe told me that Hazel filled your ears. That she is a-"
Edward made direct eye contact with shivering Hazel before spatting the word in utter dislike, clenching his jaw.
"Prostitute." Hazel flinched, taken back by falsed accusation. The unshed tears in her eyes began to run down like waterfall, wetting his palm.
The honor and character, she protected all her life, was being destroyed. And she couldn't do anything but watch them degrading her character. Her helplessness made her loath her own self.
There was silence on other side for few minutes that kept both Edward and Hazel tensed.
"Yes." Evelyn breathed out, stopping Hazel's heart. "That orphan bitch is a prostitute in nearby brothel. I thought I would be doing her a favor befriending her, but what I didn't know was that she would seduce my fiance and later on rub it on my face. Screw you and her!"
Evelyn cut the call, leaving a very furious Edward and heartbroken Hazel.
The betrayal with such poisonous words shred her insides. However, before she could depress herself in her inner turmoil, she was brought back to the cruel reality by loud noise.
She shrunk back, opening her sorrowful eyes. Edward had thrown his phone against the wall.
"I'll fucking destroy you." His voice had dropped octaves. His eyes blood shot, jaw clenched, charcoal orbs burning in rage. He looked pyscho filled with rage.
Hazel crawled further into the wall, keeping her petrified eyes on his every movement. Before he began to take predatory steps in her direction, dropping her heart.
The vengeance in his irises was clearly pledging one thing.
Her destruction.
Hazel felt blood draining from her system. Evelyn's poisonous words damaged her deep inside. Her body felt numb, yet the pain in her heart was excruciating. Evelyn's betrayal had shred her insides. She get it Chloe and Evelyn didn't consider her as their friend. But that did not mean they both will go around spreading rumors and demeaning her character. Her heart beseeched with endless agony. Her internal trial was broke by loud noise that made her shruck back. Edward had thrown his phone against the wall."I'll fucking destroy you." He whispered with blood shot eyes, his jaw clenched hard, charcoal orbs blazing in fire.Fetching a key out his pocket, Edward began to roughly remove the chains from her bruised wrists, ignoring her cries of pain.Throwing the chains in the corner with one hand, Edward clasped his other hand around her forearm and roughly threw her on soft mattress."I hope you h
Her puffy eyes took their time in opening and confronting the bitter reality. As her senses kicked in, she could only feel the pain, vibrating in her whole body. Her hazy gaze met the cemented ceiling, confusion filled her mind, not realizing where she was.Just then, flashes of last night came rushing down at her, successfully numbing each cell of her body. She was ruined yesterday. What she tried to shield her whole life, it was snatched in a daze from her. Bringing her bruised hand upward, she rubbed two fingers on side of her head.Whimpering with each movement, she sat up in fetal position, resting the back of her head against the wall, feeling the world rotating each second. Her eyes watered, seeing visible bruises on her both wrists, testifying how she was cuffed like an animal last night. She lifted her hand to rub the swollen bruise on he
Edward felt as if air had left his lungs. Stumbling backward, he roughly rubbed his hands over his eyes and then gazed again at the mattress. The stain was still there, dry and red, screaming her innocence which he snatched yesterday. His stomach began to churn into uncomfortable knots, hands beginning to sweat."Fuck" He cursed in his think accent, brushing his hand through his messed hair. The severity of the sin he committed was beginning to sink in, making indefinite remorse to fill his veins. His mind was going numb with confusion. How could she be a prostitute if she was a virgin? Why would Chloe and Evelyn lie?"shit shit shit." He began to curse his own stupidity. Instead of confirming the matter, he had just blindly acted upon his anger, and did this terrible act.His mind was thumping with unlimited questiones, yet lacking answers to any of them.
Pain. Immense pain was coursing through all parts of her body. Her eyelids felt heavy as if refusing to get opened to miserable reality. She heard hushed voices in background. The muscles of her body tensed up, fearing someone was here to strip her off her dignity again.Small whimpers began to escape her lips, closed eyes welling up with tears. The horrible scenario was very fresh in her mind, making her quiver."Shh shh it's alright, Hazel. I'm here."Mona's soothing voice calmed her struggles down. Sudden relief filled her nerves, realizing she was indeed in safe space.Wincing softly, her closed damped eyelids fluttered open before getting squinted with blinding light."Aunt?" Her soft voice whispered, scared."I am here," Warm hands engulfed her in motherly hug, making her break down. She immediately wrapped her arms around her aunt's waist and began to cry hardly. The fear, she felt while getting Kidnapped and then raped,
Her anxious eyes weren't daring to lift from the quilt, knowing his pensive gaze was following her very moment with certain attention. Her face was clammy, with mind swirling with scenarios Theodore could make her face, all of them resulting in her landing in very critical position. She tried to fight back those fear-causing imaginations."How are we doing, Hazel?" His deep voice broke the deafening silence. Placing his elbows on his knees, Theodore leaned near the bed, causing her to unconsciously shrink away towards the headboard. She knew better than to keep him waiting."F-Fine.""How fine?"His immediate response almost cast her eyes to glance into his.Almost.Just as her fearful eyes reached his line pressed lips, that were conveying his upset mood, she quickly averted her eyes away, knowing she won't be able to handle the look in his eyes."A-alot." She answered, her voice shaky."Is that so? Then, explain
Two days passed in a blur, with Hazel's body and mind completely on rest, giving her time to heal. She had a full time caretaker for her, which for her was bit weird to get adjusted with, considering she came from orphanage where no one would give shit about her. She was just an essential air, a source of income to them.Nevertheless, it wasn't like she had any grudges against them. Staying there was her own will, for which she paid at the last day of her trip. The memories again slouched down on her, filling her eyes with stinging tears.Sniffling, she blinked them away, before nuzzling her face in her soft cushion. She had missed this all, this homely feeling. Aunt Mona never changed a bit, she was the same, sweet, motherly and bit childish, always attempting to make Hazel feel at ease.Emily didn't visit her again, though she would call to check up on her every day. Theodore, also, didn't enter her sight of vision.Although, few time
Removing the quilt from her face, she let out a small yawn, sleeping clearing from her eyes. The sun rays penetrated through the glass window before clashing with her Hazel eyes, causing the golden in them to sparkle. The burden of her trauma was bit lowered than usual, and then it hit her. She had Theodore's sandalwood scent all over her. The yesterday night came crashing down at her, causing different feelings to emerge. She was yearning to get held by someone and cry on their chest. Emily hadn't visited her again. Aunt Mona was too sensitive to provide her a shoulder, as Hazel knew she would be the one having breakdown on seeing Hazel's single tear and then she will be the one comforting her frail aunt. And then came Theodore. He also wasn't very different in this matter. He wouldn't tolerate tears in her eyes, either. The only difference was in their way of coping up with her sadness.Aunt Mona would g
The whole day was spent in another type of anxiety, with anticipation of what was coming her way. Aunt Mona had gone out to run errands after assuring her Theodore will never hurt a strand of her hair.Hazel knew that too, but she couldn't help but get tensed. His Dark glaring eyes would be enough to melt her into puddle. She couldn't think of excuses she was to offer in his presence. She can't told him what had taken place back there. She knew she should, she wasn't at fault. But, the anxiety and dripping trauma wasn't allowing her to open her mouth. She has always been scared of Theo for different reasons. And now, this particular incident had terrified her of men. Theodore should have never been on that list. But, he was, at the top.She liked him. But, she was also shitless scared of him. She didn't know what he would do if she told him what had happened. And she didn't wish to find out either. For now, she needed to come up with s
