"The tide is still high. If we go straight to it, our fuel will run out before we reached the island.and we will missed the sand bar." She explained while manuvering the boat.

"Why do we have to do that?" Lukas doesn't seem to understand the implications.

"The tide is fast receeding .if we used up our fuel before we reached the island we can go with the current and by chance reach the shore, if not we will glide against the tide until it is already shallow for us to lead the boat to the island. If we fail we might be heading to open sea where our boat won't stand a chance because we don't have fuel."
