Chapter Sixty Three

She drawled in a southern American accent, he laughed, a true belly laugh, she felt it rumble up through his chest and burst from his lips,

‘Baby, if you want hearts and flowers I will give them to you. I will give you the world and I will marry you’

He kissed her again and she snuggled close exhausted, sated and very happy they fell asleep wrapped together and very much in love.

In the morning he told her she had to stay in the room and as he had expected she objected,

‘Why? I have nowhere to run. I do not want to run. I want o be here with you’

‘I have no choice baby, orders from the Council’

She looked up at him angrily,

‘Since when did you take orders from them?’

His eyes clouded as he replied,

‘Since you started a war baby’

She flinched and looked away,

‘I did not have a choice’

She said quietly sitting on the bed,

‘You all pushed me into a corner, I felt so betrayed and hurt’

He knelt in front of her and took her hands,

‘Look at me’

He said gently but she would not make eye contact,

‘Juliette, I gave you an order and from now on you obey me’

Instantly her eyes met his and they were ablaze with anger she pulled away and stood up,

‘You see, this is how it begins’

She yelled at him,

‘Don’t go there Romero, I am not that innocent sixteen year old any more’

He moved fast catching her in his arms he pulled her close pressing her against his hard muscled body,

‘’You think I do not know that baby?’

She could feel him growing against her belly,

‘You think I don’t know you’re all grown up now?’

He was nuzzling her neck and he bit it at the base sucking hard effectively branding her as his, she moaned loudly moving her head giving him better access he knew this aroused her. She had a thing for Vampyres, ever since watching Twilight biting her neck sent electricity straight to her core. When he moved to her lips she swayed against him trembling with need,

‘Romero’

His lips crashed to hers and he kissed her savagely, claiming her mouth, owning her when he broke the kiss he smiled,

‘Now you be a good girl and let me sort this out understood?’

Her eyes flashed but she backed down and nodded,

‘Okay, but only for a few days’

She acquiesced and stepped back,

‘Good girl, you can have access to the TV and the internet, I am not a monster.’

He slapped her ass hard and she yelped glaring at him again,

‘I don’t need much excuse to spank your pretty ass baby’

His eyes were dark with lust and he caught her by the waist and slapped it again,

‘You might want to remember that’

He let her go and she rubbed it stepping away from him,

‘Don’t you fucking dare’

He laughed and held up his hand as he walked to the door,

‘Oh baby, I dare, to fucking right I dare’

He ducked out of the door as she threw the nearest thing that came to hand another ornament that shattered on impact. She looked at the door and then sat on the bed petulantly there was nothing she could do she had got herself into this mess. Reaching for the TV remote she sighed she had to trust Romero to get her out of it.

He called a meeting of the remaining Dons and the Council and told them the war was over that Juliette had agreed to be his wife and join their ‘Families’ ending the centuries old feud forever.

It was not enough, she had angered them taking them on and beating them and they wanted her punished. How dare a woman expose them like that she had to be out in her place they insisted. The Council members stood up,

‘Torneremo indietro e terremo una riunione per discutere cosa dovrebbe accadere dopo. Fino ad allora la terrai in un luogo sicuro e non ci sarà matrimonio fino a quando non verrà presa la decisione.’ [We will go back and hold a meeting to discuss what should happen next. Until then you will hold her in  a secure location and there will be no wedding until the decision is made]

They said gravely and Romero jumped to his feet,

‘Permettetemi di ricordarvi, tutti voi, che Juliette non ha fatto nulla di male secondo le nostre stesse leggi. Ha seguito il protocollo alla lettera, non pensare di farle da capro espiatorio solo perché è una donna’ [May I remind you, all of you, that Juliette did nothing wrong under our own laws. She followed protocol to the letter, do not think to scapegoat her just because she is a woman]

He looked all of them in the eye,

‘Dopo tutto, non vorremmo un'altra guerra, vero?’ [After all, we wouldn’t want another war would we?]

His incredible blue eyes glittered with threat, letting them know he would defend Juliette, with force if necessary.

He told her what had been said and she reacted angrily just as he knew she would,

‘How dare they?’

She snapped pacing the room,

‘And just how long are they going to be taking this decision?’

He shrugged,

‘Who can tell, it’s the council, they will take as long as they need’

‘No’

Juliette turned to look at him,

‘I will not dance to their tune. I have done nothing wrong, I played by their rules, followed their fucking laws. I will not allow them to destroy me’

Romero sighed he had known she would not accept the ruling,

‘You are to stay in this room’

‘Romero?’

He heard the barely controlled anger in her voice,

‘You are going to let them do this to me?’

‘Just give it a few days baby, please. I don’t want another war but I will protect you’

She forced her temper down he was not her enemy clenching her fists she snapped,

‘A few days? Okay, but no longer, no matter what any of them say and that includes you’

His head snapped up,

‘Do not threaten me baby, I have warned you enough times and I will punish you if you disobey me’
