KRISTINA'S POV
When I reached the end of the path, I realized that I'm still outside the woods. Even though there weren't many humans around anymore, the forest remained the same scenery. I looked up at the dark skies, trying to see what kind of moon was there tonight. The clouds were slowly moving across the sky while the moonlight was shining brightly and giving a little relief to the dark surroundings. I looked down onto the muddy surface below me, taking in everything that I'm seeing. This must be some kind of trick from the Moon Goddess, showing her favor to me because I am no ordinary being who has been given a very special gift.A small, almost indiscernible noise caught my attention, and I was about to turn around when my eyes caught something that I shouldn't. It was too early in the morning to see such a strange sight since I couldn't see the person standing nearby."Don't move!"Startled, my legs suddenly gave way from under me as my knees met the ground. A pair of long legs was soon looming over mine while my back was pressing against the ground. In addition, he took one of my arms that was resting on top of my head and wrapped it tightly around my chest."What did I just say? Don't move."He pointed something on me, ready to fight against me."Hey! What are you doing here?"I stayed silent. I knew that this human had no reason to hurt me, yet I kept quiet anyway. I wouldn't show any fear even though I'm frightened out of my mind. It's not like I can do anything, so why should I try to resist him? He is human after all. But… Why does he have a gun? After what seemed like forever, I heard footsteps behind me. The human seemed to be walking away with me in his grasp. As we stepped into a place filled with darkness, I felt someone holding me closer as if wanting to prevent my escape. And now I started struggling to break free without breaking his hold on me. That's probably the first time I ever disobeyed anyone's command except for myself. My hands were shaking, and I wanted nothing more than to escape but my body refused to obey. I struggled harder instead, causing my body to be jerked forward as the human squeezed me tighter and tighter."Please! Let me go! I'll do whatever you want," I screamed, tears beginning to fall out of my eyes and mix with the raindrops on my face. The pain wasn't going away and neither was my heartbeat. All I could think about is how much worse this situation could get. I would be captured and sent back to that hell hole. Then the human let me go.I immediately fell onto my knees as he released his grip on me, and I was left panting and sobbing. I hugged my knees close and tried my best to stay away from the man who had brought death upon me. But he didn't seem like he cared about that anymore as he stood right next to me.His tall stature allowed him to make himself look bigger. With every step he took, he got closer to me until he was towering above me again. He lifted one of his hands, and in seconds, his cold palm was placed on my head.In the next instant, he began running his fingers through my wet hair. His fingertips moved faster than I could process anything they're touching. It felt amazing. So incredibly good. Then he leaned forward to whisper into my ear."Now don't move."I shivered as he continued to run his hand through my hair until he stopped at its last strands. I tried to move my hands, but he pulled them back by grabbing them behind my knees."Stop," he growled. "You will not move until I tell you otherwise…""Please don't make me move," I begged. "I've already done enough harm, please–"He pulled harder and I yelped out loud, feeling the pain in my shoulders. The pressure around my wrists made me feel like I couldn't breathe. Tears streamed down my face uncontrollably as I tried to pry his hands off of me. But his grip was firm and immovable."Please..."Suddenly, another hand grabbed both of the man's wrists and he was forced away from me. His body went flying backward, landing on the ground several meters away. I didn't know what was happening until I heard the loud thump of his body hitting the mud, along with a few curses and groans.A man's voice rang. "Are you okay, Miss–"I quickly turned to see him standing a couple steps away from where I was sitting before he approached me, and he came rushing towards me with his usual cheerful expression. He kneeled in front of me and grabbed my cheeks, looking straight into my teary eyes. "Oh my God! Are you alright?"I nodded and smiled weakly. The man helped me up, brushing the dirt off of me before leading me into the woods. His hand rested firmly on my lower back and we walked side by side until we came to a clearing with no trees around.A small cottage sat there and was lit with a warm light. He guided me toward it until we reached the door. He put his hand on the knob and pushed it open with ease, revealing an entryway with a living room. There was a fireplace burning with a beautiful wood burning fire in the middle of it.A table was in front of it, full of various food items such as fruits, nuts, dried meat, and even some breads. On the table was a plate containing different meats, vegetables, rice dishes, and desserts. After placing me down on one of the couches, he poured the water for us and handed a cup to me. He sat down across from me and picked up his own cup, drinking from it. When he finally set the cup down again, he said, "So... what happened exactly?"I took a sip of my water, which tasted delicious. I thought that perhaps I should start with the incident that caused me to come here."I don't even remember how I got to that place," I lied. I looked down to avoid making eye contact with him as I said those words. It felt awkward talking about it like this. I'm sure he doesn't want to hear this.KRISTINA'S POVThe young man dared to introduce himself to me. "I'm Nathan by the way." Then he extended his hand to me as a sign of his introduction. At first I hesitated, but eventually I also introduced myself to him. "I-I'm Kristina," I answered shyly, but I secretly smiled– a little bit. He's handsome enough. And he even looked like a gentleman who could give good advice, so I decided that I should trust him. But of course this is only temporary… I have to take a test to find out if he was really worth trusting or not. But still for now I can't help but to let down my guard and smile at him. This might just work. Maybe we'll meet again sometime and maybe there will be more interactions between us. After all Nathan isn't bad looking either and from time to time I wonder about what kind of men those in his world are. But then again the last thing I need right now is to get involved with any of them. I mean the last time someone got too close to me ended in an unfortunate acc
KRISTINA'S POVThe footsteps grew louder and soon stopped in front of us. The two silhouettes appeared in front of us, but we couldn't see their faces clearly. It's almost impossible to recognize anyone if you don't actually know them. All we could see were two figures. Two tall slender figures which stood side by side. One was wearing black clothing and the other wearing white. Even though it's difficult to distinguish one person from the other. I could tell that the woman in white had blonde curls and a slim figure. The man next to her had short dark hair with a buzz cut and wore black attire as well. The two humans continued walking ahead until they disappeared into the trees. Only after a few moments did Nathan relax and turned to face me. "It seems that we're safe now. Thanks for helping me back then," he said with a relieved tone in his voice. "Are you okay?" As soon as Nathan said these words I started laughing loudly. Of course I'm not okay! That man in black came out to
KRISTINA'S POVBut I couldn't give up. Not when Nathan is right there, smiling brightly at me and waiting for me to join him. After managing to keep up with him, I finally managed to climb up into his lap, and as we both sat on the large branch Nathan started humming quietly. As his fingers moved gracefully against my hips, I relaxed and soon I fell asleep. My dreams were wonderful and beautiful, filled with warmth and joy, just like Nathan's body wrapped around mine. However, when morning arrived, I woke up alone and shivering like a baby chick who doesn't know how to fly. This is the first time since I am with a human, I can remember having a dream of my own, and this one was no different. In fact, it seemed so real and true that I wondered whether I dreamed it or not. However, despite my dream being pleasant I still couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling lingering in the pit of my stomach. "How's your sleep?" A friendly voice broke me from my thoughts. I turned around in surpri
KRISTINA'S POVHe looked concerned. He's always worried when he finds me crying, even though I don't want to show him how weak I'm actually getting. If only he knew I wasn't just crying because of our predicament. Maybe he'll understand. "Are you alright now? I promise nothing bad will happen to you," he promised as he laid his warm hands on mine and gazed at me. His expression and words were sincere and caring. I almost laughed at how easy he was making me believe those things. "Yeah, I'm fine now... Just a bit startled by a strange wolf and all," I confessed, feeling silly for admitting such an embarrassing thing. But seeing Nathan smiling and comforting me gave me courage to continue talking. "It's quite alright. I'm here with you, right? We're friends now, aren't we?" Friends... Right. Nathan and I were friends. I never had friends. People avoided me and others treated me like some kind of fragile porcelain doll. Yet somehow Nathan managed to make me smile. Despite everything
KRISTINA'S POV"Please don't worry, Kristina. Everything will be alright. You can tell me whatever's bothering you," Nathan pleaded, giving me that intense gaze again that sent my heart racing. As usual, he managed to calm me down easily. Even though he didn't look like the type to use such kind gestures, I appreciated it regardless. As soon as he finished speaking, a loud noise erupted somewhere close by. At first I assumed it was thunder, but then another voice joined in the cacophony, followed shortly afterwards by a second sound. It sounded like the wolves from earlier had come back to life and chased after Nathan and I. I quickly grabbed Nathan's hand to prevent him from taking another step and we both ran in opposite directions while the pack followed close behind us. "Go, go!" Nathan shouted at me and pulled me closer to himself. My hands immediately shot up to cling to his shirt in order not to lose him. His strong legs propelled him forward and I ran desperately beside
KRISTINA'S POVI suddenly thought why Nathan understands me just like that, and why he has the same skill in treatment. Couldn't he be a medical expert? But if Nathan was a doctor... then what would I be? As soon as I thought that, I instantly shook my head. It couldn't be. The idea was preposterous. But there was no reason for him to make a scene about the fact that we both have this ability, right? He probably knows what is going on, but he isn't saying anything. He's just pretending not to know, isn't he? Because he is trying to protect us both. And because he is Nathan. The kindest person I've ever met. I decided I had more pressing things to worry about than whatever was happening outside of the wall. I needed to find out what was happening and whether or not I could help somehow. So I started walking down the long path leading into the forest. As the voices continued to become louder and louder, I felt my anxiety increasing exponentially with each passing second. This was de
KRISTINA'S POVNathan and I fell for each other easily as it showed his utmost care for me. I fell in love with Nathan even more. So I decided to tell Nathan who I was and what I was pregnant with. I gave birth to triplets, with Nathan as the father. He did everything he could to accept my children, but my children wanted to know about their real father because Nathan did not have the same blood wolf as them. When we were living in peace, I suddenly received an order from Alpha Laurence to return to the Crimson Snow Pack.I refused to obey Alpha Laurence's orders, unwilling to leave my job, children, and other responsibilities to Nathan. However, Alpha Laurence kidnapped me, and the triplets lure me to a place where Laurence's troops are waiting. I was frustrated, I flatly rejected all of Laurence's wants even if he was nice to me after I returned. When I finally escaped him after weeks, I found Nathan in a similar state of panic. I couldn't believe that I had been gone for month
KRISTINA'S POVA few moments later, my thoughts are interrupted by Nathan. "Are you okay, Kristina?" He asks softly. I nod slightly, staring at his face. His eyes sparkle with concern, but I also notice something else, something that makes me blush profusely. I feel something stir in my lower stomach, causing me to gasp slightly. Nathan notices it, his smile widening. "What's wrong? What have you done to yourself?" He questions me, sounding worried now as he sees the color draining from my face. I'm having trouble catching my breath and my heartbeat speeds up. "N-nothing…" I say shakily. My voice sounds faint to me, almost robotic. Then suddenly I collapse onto the floor, unable to breathe properly. Nathan catches me and lowers me gently down. I close my eyes and focus on his touch. His arms are gentle against me, supporting me. He murmurs soothing words as I try to control the sudden pain. My hands grip his shirt tightly. Finally, I regain control of myself enough to open my ey
KRISTINA'S POVThe next morning, Laurence came up with an idea to make this transition easier, and said it would be much better if we had someone take over some of the responsibility. I agreed right away. The others thought I was being unreasonable. I wasn't. As long as they were safe, I cared less where our lives took us. I am willing to sacrifice everything for them. Even though I didn't tell them how much of a hard time I'd had when we decided to have another child, I could see in their faces that they already knew, even though I hadn't said anything. Laurence made them understand that it wasn't about what we wanted, it was about what was best for everyone. Now, after the war against the Black Fangs Pack ended, I was finally able to relax. Even though we had lost most of our land during the war, the pack remained. We built a new settlement in the far northern region of the land, which is very near my old territory. A lot of people are happy to rebuild their homes. In fact, they
KRISTINA'S POVMonths later, I returned to the Crimson Snow Pack. Laurence discovered that I was actually his second chance mate through the moon goddess' intel. Laurence and I finally accepted each other, but our joyous moments together didn't last as I never got healed even after Nathan desperately tried to save me. His healing process wasn't enough, or so they thought.Alliyah was the main cause why I never felt better, she poisoned me after she figured out that Laurence was the one responsible for trapping her father. She sought for vengeance, and the only thing she could think of that would make Laurence suffer was to harm me.Laurence had no other choice left, he couldn't be mad at Nathan as he did his best, which he witnessed. He could only provide me and my triplets the happiness that they deserve for the remaining lifespan that I had, like fulfilling their wishes. They finally got blessed by the moon goddess. Laurence accepted my tainted body and chose to make love with me, r
KRISTINA'S POVNathan didn't notice the wounds on my body, maybe I got them from running hard while I was in wolf form. After a while I felt delirious. I was constantly moaning and writhing in extreme pain. With the strength of my growl I got Nathan's attention. When Nathan saw my wound, he immediately cleaned it and bandaged it. I just calmed down when I felt Nathan's firm grip on my hands. I was unconscious until the next day and night. Nathan changed my bandage again until he saw that my wound was slowly healing. On the second day, I woke up a little, but still seemed out of my mind. Nathan forced me to eat. Even though I didn't want to eat at first and kept moaning and whining in extreme pain, I eventually had to give in. He also gave me some medicine so I could get better and I did, but my appetite was still gone. After two days in bed I felt better and finally started eating again. On the third day I managed to eat some food. After that Nathan left for work and I was alone in
KRISTINA'S POVI was not comfortable with the ride so I called Nathan and talked to him. I took off my clothes and retreated into a corner. "Kristina, what are you doing?" Nathan shouted. "We need to run fast using my wolf form. I don't want my clothes to get ruined when I transform into a wolf. I can now run fast without my clothes getting caught on the trees."I quickly made Nathan follow what I said. He was startled when I grabbed him and pulled him up. Then, he wrapped his arms around my neck and closed his eyes tightly. "Kristina–"But the wind swallowed his voice as I shot off to the forest. Nathan gasped and clung to me very tightly. He wanted to say that their run was romantic. But the f*ck it wasn't. There was nothing romantic about the frigid and harsh wind slapping his face, nothing sweet about his ears popping from pressure. And especially not romantic about how fast we were running in his state of mind. So, there was no romance between us and neither was there any pa
KRISTINA'S POVThen, without warning, he leaned down to pull something up from behind me and wrapped a blanket around me. "Don't worry about that." He smiled gently, wrapping his hand around mine before leading me to sit by the edge of the ledge. I glanced down at our intertwined fingers briefly before turning my gaze back towards the view. "We'll have a nice picnic when we make it to the mainland. I'm sure we'll find a nice spot for that as well." "I don't suppose you happen to know where we are right now?" "No." I said, looking at the horizon again, watching as the sun slowly set behind it, "But I do know that it's almost sunrise, so that means it should be safe to leave soon." Nathan nodded and turned back to look at the sky. The sun finally broke free above the water and started its journey towards the west, leaving trails of golden light in its wake, lighting the way to our destination. We sat together quietly, enjoying the view, but Nathan seemed much more at ease than ear
KRISTINA'S POVMy voice cracked as another sob escaped me. "All three of us…" It felt good to admit how much I had missed him. The silence was deafening this time. A cold hand clasped itself around my arm. "That's not happening, Kristina," he said firmly. "There's no way we can escape. And besides, you have no chance of getting past that thing."He sighed and shook his head. "This is all my fault." "Nathan–" "You don't understand!" He exclaimed, suddenly enraged, "We're locked up in the damn prison for our entire lives. You can't blame me for this. I did nothing wrong! You did everything wrong!" His voice rose into hysteria. "You're supposed to care about me! Why are you acting so stupid? You're never going to forgive yourself, aren't you?" "N–Nathan…" "Stop acting like an idiot! How many times do I have to tell you that this is my fault! Don't give me that crap about how you tried to help me! All you did was drive the wolves away! Just like you always do!" I winced as he screa
KRISTINA'S POVMy eyes frantically scanned the area surrounding us in search of an escape route. But all I found were empty hallways. No windows, no doors. Just a plain white door that I had just walked into. It was locked from the outside. I spun around to face Nick's direction and screamed out his name once more. Nothing. I tried to break the door down, even though I knew there would be no point. It didn't budge. So I did the only thing that came to mind and grabbed hold of the handle. The door wouldn't budge either, so I threw it against the wall as hard as I could and stepped back. There, I saw what I had been looking for. A thin sliver of light peeking out from underneath the door. I pushed the door open slightly, revealing a small stairwell that led down to the first floor. I quickly ran down, stopping on the ground floor where an old-fashioned elevator sat at the end of the corridor. A single button illuminated the small display board beside the buttons. 'Lunar Control'. I p
KRISTINA'S POVI could see him trying not to grin, but failing miserably. "Well… yes," I admitted. Nathan gave me a pointed look, and continued in an unimpressed tone of voice. "But if I didn't get to spend time with you now and then, I'd be all alone. So… you do want to do it?" He smirked. I rolled my eyes, "It isn't like we have much else to do anyway–" "Oooh, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun. The way they talk so sweetly. Like, 'Hello, how may I help you?' and stuff." "I'm not planning on doing any more dating than a friend, okay? Just hanging out and stuff." I scowled. Nathan just laughed. Then he suddenly froze, looking over at me. His mouth formed a wide O as he looked back at the book that he had been studying. A few seconds passed before his expression changed completely. A small smile spread across his face as he started laughing loudly. I stared blankly at him. Nathan finally took notice of me again, and his expression switched from one of hilarity to one of concern.
KRISTINA'S POV"And what makes you think I was ever in love with that idiot?" This time he turned to look directly into my eyes. There was such hurt and confusion in his face that I couldn't help myself. I wrapped my arms around him, pulling him into an embrace. "You don't have to be jealous or upset if you love me, Nathan." He held me tight for a few seconds, then pulled away and walked off down the sidewalk, not making eye contact with me once. Once he got to the end of the block, he glanced over his shoulder. I didn't dare follow after him to make sure he got home safe. Instead, I watched him leave. His blond curls bouncing around behind him. The light breeze ruffled through them. Nathan was so cute. I wished I was more like him and not like… well, me. The sound of someone knocking on my bedroom door snapped me out of my reverie. "Who is it?" "It's me, Jasmin." "Come in." My daughter, Jasmin, entered my room. I sat up in bed, propping myself up with a pillow. My bedhead was
