When I noticed Caesar approaching me while putting his phone back in his pocket, I quickly stood up from the bench, clutching my drink tightly.

"You're done?" When he was already in front of me, I asked him.

He responded, "Yes."

I nodded and merely muttered, "Okay," because I didn't know what else to say.

Caesar opened his mouth and appeared to want to speak again, but I had already beaten him to it.

"Can I go back to my room now? I was tired of strolling around the resort and wanted to lie down. You can stay if you want to." I said it quickly, despite my best efforts to smile. I'm just not sure if it's the smile Caesar saw in my face or a wry one.

Caesar looked at me closely, as if he were trying to read my mind.

I cursed quietly. I could barely keep my emotions in check at this point. Why does he have to keep staring at me like this?

With the way Caesar was staring at me, I expected him to say something or ask me a question, so I was already planning how to avoid any question

Tyler’s POVAs I sat down on the bed and glanced at my manhood, my face was filled with dissatisfaction.I let out a long, frustrated sigh.I was nearly there. Raine and I were almost there! Why did Brae have to appear at that exact time? Besides, she obviously knew what Raine and I were up to when she saw me, but she chose to be inconsiderate and took Rhea with her.Now I'm here alone in this huge but lonely room, comforting my little Tyler and telling him that he still has a chance this evening."What the hell are you doing, you creep?"I turned to see where the voice was coming from, and there was Caesar standing in the middle of the room's now-widely opened door, staring at me with disgust."Have you gone insane?" Or is this your true self, a motherfucking pervert?" He said that, which made my ears tingle madly.I'd never been called a pervert in my life. No one, not even Raine! And because I was still dissatisfied and unhappy that Raine had left me hanging, my rage erupted immedi

I was glancing at the menu, but my attention was elsewhere. Because of how self-conscious I was, I couldn't even read the names of the dishes.Caesar was entirely to blame for this.He has been paying more attention to me since yesterday. Wherever I go, he goes, and whatever I do, he is always there to watch me, to the point that he seems like a creepy stalker. During dinner, he was so attentive to me that one could mistake him for my personal butler, or worse, my nanny. We haven't spoken about our conversation in the garden, though I'm sure he already knows I was aware of his love for me.I was honestly waiting for him to speak those words so I could reject him.Although I can tell he has affection for me, hearing it from him personally is more preferable.I don't want to come across as presuming things, even though it was apparent as day that he was in love with me, especially given how he acted towards me after what happened at the garden. And he's doing it again now, being overly

Sincerity can be seen not only in Caesar's eyes but also in his voice, which left me speechless for a moment, which was not what I had in mind when I questioned him about what he really felt for me.Despite the fact that I had just stated that I would reject him right away and that I could not be with him, I was unable to do so, which caused me to condemn myself silently. And it's because, while knowing what was coming, I couldn't help but be astonished.Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the tables would be turned and that I would have already fallen out of love with Caesar while he would have fallen in love with me.How did things come to be this way?"Didn't you already know I had feelings for you since yesterday? How come you still have that shocked expression on your face?" Caesar asked, chuckling slightly.Put yourself in my shoes and see if you don't have the same reaction as I did, I said quietly.I ignored what he said and instead replied, "Then, what do you want f

My face couldn't be painted as I walked along the shore with Caesar behind me.I came to a standstill and aggressively turned to face him. With an annoyed expression on my face, I pleaded, "Will you stop following me around?"Caesar returned my question with an innocent expression: "Am I being a bother?"Because of how frustrated and annoyed I am, my head feels like it's about to burst at any moment.I'm not sure if he's faking it or not, but he's still making me lose my cool. This trip should provide me with some tranquility, but with Caesar around, it appears that peace may already be regarded as unreachable. He told me this morning that he wouldn't accept any refusal from me for one month, and although I declined, he insisted, claiming that he would do what he thought was necessary. And it appears that following me around was one of the things he felt compelled to do.Despite my best efforts to avoid him, he still followed me, which has already driven me to the brink of insanity.I

"I told you I don't want to do this!" I yelled at Caesar as we paddled the kayak together. "You are saying that, but here you are now, paddling with me." With a grin on his face, Caesar responded. I came to a halt and gave him a deathly gaze. I gritted my teeth and said, "You forced me! This isn't out of my own volition!" "Then you should have said something when they were explaining to us how to use the kayak." "If I did, would you have listened?" "That depends. If you said you didn't want to go kayaking but would still give me your time to have a decent talk with you again, I would. But if you refuse to go kayaking and also refuse to lend some of your time, I will not listen to you." After hearing what he said, my grip on the paddle strengthened. My jaws tightened, and I gritted my teeth. I would have declined right away if I hadn't been so surprised by how abrupt and unexpected everything was. Unfortunately, by the time I realized what was going on, I was already riding the k

I could feel the scorching, puzzled, and bewildered stares that Raine and Tyler were throwing at me. It's six o'clock in the evening, and the two have finally decided to stop locking themselves in their room so that they can join us for dinner in a seafood restaurant that Caesar personally chose. Raine and Tyler were next to each other while facing me, and Caesar was by my side, who was busy peeling the prawns and the crabs for me so that I wouldn't have any trouble eating. Even if they don't say it, I know what Raine and Tyler are thinking. They are probably thinking, 'What the hell is going on with these two?' And I understand their reaction. Because if I were in their shoes, I would be flabbergasted too at this scene I am seeing. Until Raine couldn't hold back anymore, and she finally voiced out her thoughts while her gaze was fixed on the dishes that Caesar was peeling. "Am I seeing it right? Is Caesar really caring and being attentive towards Brae, and Brae is just letting h

  • Risk It All   Chapter 37.1

Today is our last day at the resort, and happily, Raine and Tyler have finally decided to join us, reducing the amount of time Caesar and I were alone together, which also reduced the amount of time I could hear Caesar's hair-raising romantic words flowing out of his mouth.Breakfast was served to the four of us in the morning, with Caesar paying close attention to me as usual. Then we went kayaking again, but this time Raine was with me, which was exactly what I had hoped for in the first place. Caesar was with Tyler, and their boat was a mess, with them arguing again and again. Raine and I tried to scold them, but they didn't listen, so we just let them be, and Raine and I chose to enjoy ourselves instead.Except for Raine, we tried paddleboarding after kayaking, which I thoroughly loved. Following the paddleboarding, we went snorkeling, which I also loved. We grabbed lunch and rested for a while after snorkeling before deciding to undertake more activities with the other guests, su

But my prayer was not answered the next morning. As soon as I left my room, I saw Caesar in the living room, having coffee and chatting with Papa. They both turned to face me with smiles on their lips, though Caesar's was bigger."Good morning, dear." Papa greeted me.I returned Papa's smile and approached him, kissing his cheek and greeting him, "Good morning, Papa.""Good morning, Brae."I raised my brows in response to Caesar's greeting. "What brings you here so early? It's only seven o'clock in the morning." I questioned him without bothering to return his greeting."I have something important to tell your parents." He replied, still smiling. My brow furrowed even more. "How important is it that you tell my parents that you can't wait any longer and have come this early? It's also Monday. Don't you have to go to work?""I'm on a month's vacation and don't have to go to work. As for why I'm here this early, well, I'm too excited (and nervous) to wait any longer and just had to tell

After reaching the park, I immediately went to the gazebo, not minding the curious stares that the people in the park were giving me because of how I was walking so fast and was frantically looking around, looking for Caesar just in case he hadn't reached the gazebo yet. Adding to that was how I looked. From my hair and make-up, down to the dress I was wearing—it all screams I just came from a wedding. It did not take me long to reach the gazebo, and just as I thought and hoped, Caesar was there, sitting on the stairs with his head down and staring at his shoes.I stopped my tracks when I was already in front of him, and with an intense gaze, I asked him in a shaky voice, "Is it true?"Caesar flinched a little before he slowly lifted his head and looked at me. "You're here," he murmured while staring at me, looking so surprised to see me in front of him.I did not pay attention to what he said and instead asked him again. "Is it true that you're leaving?"The surprise on his face was

"Are you alright?" Raine suddenly asked me, which made me flinch a little out of surprise.Looking at my own fingers, I raised my head to meet my cousin's questioning gaze. I smiled at her. "I should be the one asking you that. Are you alright? Do you not feel nervous?"Raine smiled back as she sat beside me. She was already wearing her fabulous and extravagant wedding gown, and she was done with her hair and makeup as well. She was all ready for her wedding, which was about to start in just twenty minutes."I would be lying if I'd say I am not nervous because I am. But the nervousness I am feeling cannot be compared to my excitement." Her eyes started twinkling. "I can't believe I am really getting married today! And it'll be with Tyler, which is something I have never even dreamed of before. I have always thought that the two of us would just remain as best friends. I never knew that we would end together like this."I smiled at what she said. Even I was shocked when I learned that

Shocked, surprised, bewildered, dumbfounded, flabbergasted—I could list all the adjectives I know, but they wouldn't be enough to describe how I felt.Caesar's lips are soft, and I could feel it very well. I could also feel how starving his mouth is for me to respond—from brushing my lips with his to gradually biting them, wanting me to open them and accept his tongue's fiery attacks.I don't remember anymore how long I just stayed still and let Caesar taste my lips as much as he wanted. But what I do remember is how my body reacted, gradually heating up as his hands that were on my cheeks moved to my neck, shoulders, and back before he slowly pulled me close to him to the point where I was already almost sitting on his lap.My heart, which was already beating fast, went even faster, but it wasn't because of nervousness anymore. It was because my body was slowly turning on.I clenched my hand tightly. My mind was telling me to push Caesar away, but my body did otherwise. Because inste

In front of us is the magical sight of bioluminescence plankton, which I have only seen in pictures. My eyes and mouth widened in amazement as I looked at the beautiful sight right in front of us."Oh my God! It is so beautiful!" I exclaimed in pure wonderment as I couldn't take my eyes off it."Do you want to come closer?" Caesar asked, to which I quickly answered with a repeated nod while smiling from ear to ear, causing Caesar to chuckle."Give me the bags then. I'll hold them for you," he said. And due to my excitement, I did not hesitate anymore to give him the bags I was holding. He then added, "You could also walk and swim on them if you want.""Nah. I'm not comfortable walking on them, and I think they wouldn't be comfortable with it either," I replied to him before I started walking closer to the plankton and stared at it in amazement once more.I can feel my eyes twinkling as I keep muttering the same word, 'wow'.I have never seen something as magical and enchanting as this

“Would you like to go somewhere with me tonight?” Caesar asked me, which took me aback for a little. After everything that had happened between us, that was the last question I expected him to ask. I assumed that despite our reconciliation, he would still distance himself a little from me, at least for a little while. But I guess I was wrong.Well, if he was able to be romantically involved with another woman just a few days after I rejected him, then I guess asking me to hang out is not that much of a big deal for him. And since it seems that he's okay with everything now, I don't see any reason why I should decline his invitation. This could also be a way for us to clear up even the tiniest awkwardness that will suddenly surround us from time to time, just like now. Also, it would be a good opportunity for me to ask what the real score is between him and Mara, and why did he deny that they were on a date when that was clearly what he was implying when I asked him yesterday?"Tell me

Caesar’s POV After the work-related call ended, I quickly went back to our table. My feet have been itching to get back to the three girls I was with. I was worried that the moment I left, they'd start fighting violently. I definitely doubt Brae would stoop that low, but I'm not sure about Raine, especially Mara, whom I've only recently met and am unfamiliar with her attitude. But one thing is certain about Mara: she is not the sweet and kind girl she tried to portray. The way she stared and the words she told Brae from the very first time they were introduced, I could already tell that she's trying to be someone she is not. So I can't really blame Brae for showing the same behavior to Mara. She was just letting her have a dose of her own medicine. As to why I was putting up with her, letting her get close to me as much as she could, and even accompanying her, it’s simply because I don’t want to be rude to her and also because I have a hidden agenda. This might sound cliche and som

I couldn't help but throw a couple of glances at Caesar and Mara's sides. They were sitting side by side, while I and Raine were sitting together. Mara, as usual, was being extra attentive towards Caesar again. I bet if Caesar allowed her, she would spoon-feed him.Thankfully, they haven’t gone there yet, or I might really end up throwing up all the food I ate due to disgust.“Is there a problem, Brae?” Mara asked when she suddenly looked at me and caught me stealing a glance at them. Caesar and Raine stopped eating to look at me in curiosity. “Or are you finding something funny about me to laugh at again?” Mara then added, her voice still filled with hostility directed not only towards me but only towards my Raine, who immediately turned her attention back to her food and ate again, acting as if she didn’t feel the animosity Mara has been giving the both of us.I sat straight and finally looked at her properly. I smile at her insincerely. “Look, Mara, I am sorry for offending you. I

"What are you doing here? I thought you planned to stay at home all day?" Caesar asked me, surprised but smiling. I gave Caesar a forced smile. I was suddenly confused and nervous, and my brain also seemed to go blank, which is why I couldn’t immediately come up with something to answer him. I remember telling him yesterday, after he dropped me off, that I had no intentions to leave and would simply stay at home. I also told him that Raine and I had no plans to go out, but now he saw me in the same mall as he and Mara, who were out on a date. I was still trying to construct a lie when Raine came to my rescue. "Ahm, hi, Caesar? I'm here if you haven't noticed." Caesar was surprised again, and it wasn't until then that he looked at Raine. He appeared to have just noticed Raine was with me. "Oh, Raine!" He exclaimed, startled. "I didn't recognize you." Raine lifted an eyebrow. "You noticed Brae even though we were both wrapped up, but you failed to recognize me? It's not very obvio

"Ahm, can you remind me again why we are doing this?" Raine asked me as we were secretly looking at Mara and Caesar, who were inside a boutique, looking at clothes while having a conversation with smiles on their faces. We are currently in a mall, sitting near the escalator and only a few steps away from the boutique where Caesar and Mara are."We are just purely doing this out of curiosity." I answered her in a weak voice without even looking at her because I didn't really separate my gaze from the two.Raine lifted one of her eyebrows as she stared at me. "We? You mean to say: out of your own curiosity?" She snarled before adding, "And we're not really sure if we're really just doing this because you're curious."I was still staring at Caesar and Mara when I answered Raine. "Be quiet, Mara. I didn't force you to come with me. You're the one who insists on coming because you just want to catch gossip.""Hey, that's such a mean thing to say. What are you saying that I just want to cat
