Boom!! Kalen heard the familiar sound, as he saw the commander launching straight towards by the air compression device.

Bam!! The commander’s figure flitted above the air in a blur, as he slashed at the traitor’s armor with his sword as he landed. Kalen could only grind his teeth, as he responded by hastily dodging to the right.

“Warning!! Durability reduced by 25%,” the low-grade A.I of his armor, suddenly reported a warning for the first time since he started using it.

Armors don’t naturally report damage, but if one blow dealt too much damage, the armor’s A.I is programmed to alert the owner as a precaution. He cursed, as he quickly attached his gun to his back. He unsheathed his sword, as he jumped forward, trying to run from this formidable opponent.

“Kalen, I am disappointed and pissed off, I had high hopes for you.” The commander shouted as he rushed forward to engage him.

His superior opponent wasn’t wearing any armor now, so Kalen took courage from this, as he turned ba

“My name is Kalen, I am a squire of the Camelot military, currently still in training,” Kalen announced loudly, as he was handcuffed by the vigilantes. “Call 112 to confirm my identify,” he continued, as he deactivated his face armor to reveal his face. 112, is just like 911 is the Kingdom of Camelot’s number, to call for emergencies. As he introduced himself, some vigilante members already mobilized, as they went after the terrorists who pursued him here. He had to wait for 30 minutes, as they did a lot of paperwork and procedures, before they finally confirm his identity. The way they spoke to him immediately changed, once they learn who he was. They asked him if he needed any refreshments before they asked him some questions. “What was you doing in the forest? Who were the people pursuing you?” He told them the whole truth, not excluding any details, as he conveniently placed the terrorist organization in another precarious situation. They were surprised by his reveal, but the

“Shit, this is probably the first time that I woke up directly from a dream. What a stroke of bad luck,” Kalen grumbled, as he got up. He looked around, and finally did a proper survey of the room that he booked last night. He admired the decorations and scenery. From the little he already saw; he knew that it is a nice hotel. He was too exhausted to glance around yesterday, so he looked to his fill. “The vigilantes did a great job reserving this hotel for me,” he thought with a smile. He dropped down again to rest some more, as he rolled on the king-sized bed. “Oh shit!! Today is Sunday,” he suddenly recalled. “Since I don’t have anything going on. I could use this opportunity to visit the church. Man…, how long has it been since I last entered a church,” he soliloquized nostalgically. He glanced at his wristwatch, which indicated that the 33 minutes after 8. “There is no rush, The second service is already in service. I’ll go to the third service at 10 am.” He quickly decided

The church service ended around noon, as Kalen stood up, following the other members. They all orderly left the church premises. He felt happy and fulfilled as he took in the fresh air outside. “I am going to be a bonafide knight soon,” he thought with a smile. As he smiled, a memory of his parents quickly flashed into his brain. Despite the complicated relationship he had with his parents, they were still his closest companions when they were alive. He missed them a lot. He got into his car, he didn’t want to go back to the hotel just yet, so he drove to a nearby burger shop. He bought a burger and fries, with a soda, as he relaxed on the chair provided. The shop had a television set-up for customer’s entertainment, placed at the top of the shop. He looked over and was surprised by the news being displayed. “The local police force attacked a nearby Red Water Legion’s base, but it seems that the terrorists expected the assault, as they all

“How will I get the stuff once I pay?” Th man asked directly. “Oh, about that. You don’t have to worry; I could send the stuff to the black market in your area. Or you can tell a place where you want it sent too and I’ll send it through waybill.” Kalen replied, after contemplating for 10 seconds. “Ok, that’s good. I thought that you came to sell without reading the warnings and instructions. I trust you. I will pay for the items now. Send it to Richacha city.” Kalen was already ready to send the item, but the man held him back, by suddenly grabbing his arm. He narrowed his eyes, as he stared at him sternly in the eye. “If the product is delivered properly, I’’ patronize you again. But don’t test me; you don’t know who you are dealing with if you decide to run with my money.” He threatened in a sharp but deep tone. He didn’t even finish before Kalen received an alert. He directly asked her for the total of his bill, after knowing that she recognized him. “Mr. Drake, the total cost for all the services is 130 Commonwealth credits.” “Very good,” he replied with a smile, as he directly transferred the money over. He already did his research, even the price for their services is good, despite the excellent service provided. After he sorted out the bills, he left, going directly for his car. He pushed the start button on the luxurious car, as he heard it roaring to life. Vroom!! He whipped the car out of the hotel compound. Once he got on th

Somewhere in a small town called Grand Falls, Aledos trained with his fellow terrorist soldiers as sweat beaded down his face. He repeatedly hit the training target carefully and cautiously, as he didn’t want to reveal his true strength. Unlike Kalen, he didn’t attack the locals to grab the organization’s attention. He disguised himself as an errand boy for a local gang in the community. The leader of the gang took him in and sent him out to do steal and do a lot of other unconventional things. After a week of doing these things, he became a member of the gang. He quickly entered a period of growth, rising through the ranks with abnormal speed. Nothing could impede his growth in the gang when he uses his full strength. During the cold late hours of the night, a pair of eyes blinked open, as it squinted to adapt to the dim lightning. Aledos slowly stood up; he looked outside, as the silver light from the moon illuminated the darkroom a little. Like Kalen, he also found an excuse to keep his bag. His lie was even more extreme, as he lied that the bag was a family heirloom. The terrorists didn’t fuss about it, as they’ve seen even more eccentric individuals. He stood up and silently moved to where he kept his bag, as he quickly checked his wristwatch for the time. “It’s 5:30am already,” he muttered silently to himself, as he donned his exotic armor and all his other equipment stealthily. He quickly equipped his throwing knives in their designated places in his armor. He felt nostalgic as he finally wore his military equipment again, after more than a month of wearing only his camouflaged squire uniform. He already made elaborate plans for his attack. He k

What bothered him was that he already figured out the identity of the mysterious shooter. "How the hell did the commander, discover me so quickly?” He questioned, as his brain’s thought process rapidly spiked. He reacted fast despite his thoughts, as he immediately jumped behind a car, while bringing out his dual automatic pistols. The damage he received from the commander’s few shots, made him feel uncomfortable. He didn’t know that the commander’s machine gun had this much firepower. “Fuck the database didn’t have this information. Who knew that the commander had an exotic machine gun. It’s another variable that interrupted my plans,” he thought in resignation and frustration. There is a high chance that the commander recently upgraded his gun’s capacity on the out

After a week of waiting, the award-giving day finally arrived. It was a Monday, and the whole gladiator district was riled up for this day. The spectators could finally see their best gladiators get their awards in the arena. Today, the Neo-Rome team members were going to get the award for their labor of 3 years. After years of only wearing armor and light clothing as gladiators, they were finally going to dress corporately again. Kalen froze in place with a smile on his face, as he stared at his fresh look while dressed in a suit. After so long he finally cut his beard yesterday. It felt funny to him; he already entered the vicious men’s circle of cutting your beard to avoid it looking wild. He was not even sure if Nami would recognize him again if she saw him with a beard. Despite already cutting the beards, the slight sings to indicate that he was a man with beards were still left there. He carefully admired his electric blue suit, as his smile slowly morphed into a grin. Pair

As usual, medical practitioners on white quickly rushed into the arena with a floating stretcher. They brought cleaning bots with them this time, as the blood and gore were quickly sucked and cleaned throughout the arena. Kalen’s unconscious body was carefully placed on the stretcher, as it directly floated back to the medical bay. As the medical practitioners worked, the commentator finally started his ending speech with a smile. “Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow Sea Angels, we now finally have a winner for this gladiator tournament. After these countless difficulties, we finally arrived at our destination.” “The winner of the gladiator tournament this time is the Lone Dragon, he proved his strength today in this arena.” “I won’t waste your time much, I just want to inform you that according to the organizers; if everything goes according to plan, the award-giving ceremony will be held within the week.” “Let’s all come back for this final event, to establish our winner’s status

As the atmosphere grew tenser, gulps left throats unconsciously, and speculations rose higher, the gladiators finally moved. Kalen moved first. As soon as he gathered some strength, he used his spear as a support to lift himself off his opponent’s sword. Spurt!! He closed his eyes while gritting his teeth in pain. More blood flowed out of him, as the sword was roughly yanked out of him. His opponent also flinched in pain, as the spear stirred in his abdomen. Thud!! He dropped down to the ground, as he quickly summoned more strength to roll further away from his opponent. He already grew accustomed to pain after so many years of being a knight. He could not directly say that he liked pain, but at least he could bear a lot of pain. Despite this being the case, the pain that he was currently feeling drove deeper into his inner self. He felt like his body was no longer his own, he felt like his body was just a cage where he was receiving torture. He could not help it, as tears flow

Unlike his opponent’s solemn expression, his was complete opposite, he had a calm look on his face. “Magician, you surprised me yet again. I didn’t think you would have the guts to fight me again. Last time we fought, you did put up with great fight, but you know I am going to kill you. I promise you will regret your decision of walking into this arena.” He slowly said with a smile. Kalen didn’t reply, as his blood was already feeling hot for this fight. He had no time nor luxury to reply to foolish questions. He didn’t come here to discuss, at least he didn’t have that luxury like his opponent. He had an uphill and almost impossible target to overcome, he was ready to put his all. “Enough bullshit! Today was the day that justify all the bloodshed and deaths throughout the past year, in the gladiator arena. Kalen entered the gladiator armory in a solemn mood, as he went forward to where the weapons were kept. On seeing the empty, grey-colored cold chamber, he could not help but feel a sense of emptiness. For weeks now, he had been training to get the required level to win this fight. He did not know why he was anticipating it, but he felt that he would benefit a lot if he emerged as the winner of this fight. Though his thoughts were numerous, they quickly cleared up as he advanced to the spear section of the armory. He stood before the large row of spears, before falling into a daze. Spears spread for as far as his eyes could see. From short spears to long spears, to broad, to thin spears, every type of spear was available. His hands extended forward, as he firmly grabbed the long spea
