Susan's POV

As soon as I had panicked about Justin, rather than let me go, Pularis had me chained to the room, to my shock and dismay. Not only that, but he even ordered his servants to not release me, while he had gone out to find Justin for me.

Only thing is, however, not only did I not know where Justin was being held, Pularis did not ask a single thing about him as he left. Not what he looked like, what he may smell like, nothing. He didn’t even ask if the son I was worried about was the one who was with Duncan. It worried me more if he was ever going to find him. And it worried me even more if Justin will still be safe until then.

‘Justin… Please be safe,’ I prayed, looking out the window at the crescent moon shining down. As I stared, I couldn’t help wondering if the Moon Goddess or anyone up there is enjoying what has become of me. It was bad enough that I was framed for a crime I never did, all my hard work and effort to not be recognized, and let’s not forget how Justin- the

Pularis's POVI was driving back to the disgraced Alpha’s house to retrieve Susan’s kid. Apparently, the boy was abducted by that guy and his men when they were somewhere that was without people. Where that ‘somewhere’ was, the she wolf didn’t say, though it could be prison. Her friend did mention that Susan was falsely accused and arrested for a crime she didn’t commit, earlier. An indirect piece of info about the ‘Alpha’ that pissed me off even more.Just what kind of Alpha does not look deeper into an incident before making that sort of decision? The fact that that one werewolf said such about Susan so truthfully could only mean he had been neglecting his ‘homework’. If anything, I question if the predecessors even properly taught him the responsibilities of an Alpha.‘All the more reason to have this pack dispersed,’ I thought, irritated that there had to be a process to be done for that to actually happen in the council. Though we usually would have the final say in a situation i

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   The Visit Against the Beta

It did not take me much longer to arrive back at the disgraceful Alpha's household. Once there, I begrudgingly got out of my car and walked up to the door. To my small astonishment, the front door was already fixed up, albeit poorly. Still, it did nothing to deter me and what I needed to do, as I gave it a 'little' knock, causing the door to tumble down."This door is very poorly fixed," I said out loud, making my presence known to the residents inside as I walked in.When I entered, I noticed the three people who were supposed to be here were missing. I had thought they ran off, when I took in a breath, and sniffed out two of three familiar scents upstairs, with one unfamiliar scent.Of the two scents I knew, I instantly noticed the disgraceful Alpha was not one of them. Something that made me narrow my eyes in disgust.‘He ran away, didn’t he? Either that or…’ I began to wonder, having half the mind to summon a search party for that runaway, when I heard footsteps upstairs.“So you’

Susan's POVI didn’t know how long I was out, but when I next woke, it was to a stinging pain in my head. I winced and rubbed my head a bit, trying to remember what happened last to wake up to that pain. A memory that I much rather forget, for it only made me worry more about Justin.‘I need to find him,’ I thought, glancing back up at the chain that kept me to the bed. ‘I need to get this off first. How?’I heard the door open, and glanced over to see Ayla walking in. This time, with a first-aid kit in her hand. As soon as she made eye contact with me, she flinched."O-Oh! You're awake," she stuttered out. "Thank goodness. Though you should best remain lying down in bed. I did... kind of hit you a bit too hard..."When those words left her mouth, I was reminded of what happened last, and softly smiled at the timid maid. "So I am aware," I could only say, rubbing my head from the slight stinging pain.Ayla seemed to have flinched from my words and bowed her head at me. "Please forgive

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Desperate Search

I ran as fast as I could down the streets, pushing my legs as fast as I could to the limit. As much as I wanted to transform into my wolf form and make this search fast, sadly, I never got the time to practice my shifts, much less feel my wolf. Not since the incident. Even now, when I most especially want to find Justin, I can’t feel my wolf.‘No…’ I thought, shaking my head. ‘Now is not the time for that. I can worry about my wolf after I save Justin.’My mind made up, I picked up the pace and ran faster down the streets. Soon enough, I made it back to town, where I took notice of the patrols walking about in the area. I grew confused at the sight, for there usually was never any need for this many people patrolling within the pack. Unless if...'It can't be because of me, can it?' I wondered. 'Even if Duncan has so much hate towards me, and possibly felt humiliated after what happened with Alpha Pularis, he couldn't be petty enough to think that it was some act, could it?'I didn't

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Chase

Susan's POVI had been searching around town the whole night, and I couldn’t find any clue or hint as to where Justin had gone. Not that it should be surprising, considering how he has never gone outside the prison walls before. And yet, for the first thing to have happened to him to be a kidnapping, followed by an escape with a target on his back…‘He must be frightened,’ I thought in worry, hiding behind a barrel, away from patrols. ‘Everything out here is too new for him. He could be anywhere. If he was in a place any child would more likely end up in, they would’ve found him by now.’Worried as I was about Justin’s safety, for there to still be so many werewolves searching for him, I can at least be at ease that he was safe, away from Duncan and his men. I was relieved but, with the sun rising, I feared it was only a matter of time until Justin gets found. Whether it was by one of the patrols, or a citizen loyal to Duncan. Likewise, however, it also meant I wasn’t going to be able

"Thank you again, for back there," I thanked the elder, sitting on the couch as I wrapped up my legs in bandages."It's nothing you need to thank me for, child. If anything, it is those dogs who should be ashamed of themselves, ganging up on a single werewolf. In broad daylight," the woman said, prepping some tea for us. “Are you sure you don’t need help with those injuries?”“No, ma’am. It’s just a bunch of scratches I got while running, is all.”After what happened with the Bluemoon wolves, the elderly woman took me by the hand and led me straight to her house. That being a fairly nice cabin right outside the pack. There were some werewolves who tried to stop us, but one glare from her was enough to stop them. Literally, with the added pressure keeping them down. Once it finally dawned to them how formidable this werewolf may be, they gave in at last. Although...'I have doubts it will stop Duncan from trying anything to me. Finding me, and potentially hurt me…' I thought, worried a

I stood in sheer bafflement, when I saw Pularis standing right out the door, paling in his presence. I had planned to return to the mansion as soon as I could after finding Justin, but now..."Mommy!" I was snapped out of my fright when I heard a familiar voice call out to me, followed by a small figure bumping into me at full force.I looked down hesitantly, wondering if I was just hearing and imagining things. If stress and worries got piled up in me to the point that it was making me hallucinate. My eyes widened when I laid them on the one figure I never thought I would see."Justin?" I breathed out, prompting the boy to look up at me. His eyes filled with tears, relief, and joy."I missed you, Mommy!" he exclaimed.Relief washed over me as I knelt down, taking in his appearance and scent. The young puppy smell mixed with cinnamon that I knew well. There was no mistaking it, as I took him in my arms in a hug."You're okay. Thank goodness, I was so worried!" I exclaimed softly, bury

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Walking Back

The walk back to Pularis's mansion felt like forever, as I followed behind the Alpha to his abode. As we walked, I noticed the patrols that were once around the pack seemed to have dispersed, and any citizens walking around would often stop and glance at us. Some seemingly in fright, and distanced themselves from us. Whether it was due to my poor reputation, or news that a member of the Council of Wolves was amongst their midst, I wasn't sure. Though I could not say the distance was not appreciated.Justin, on the other hand, seemed fairly comfortable being around him, to my slight confusion. Not for his actions- considering Pularis did find and save him as he promised- but more about the Alpha in question. He who did not seem bothered by my adopted son's antics. Getting led by the hand, having a small chat with him... He's even letting him ride on his shoulders. Looking at them like this, the pair looked almost like father and son. If it weren't for what happened last night, I would

Days passed since my chat with Pularis and Patricia. And if I may say…“How many times must it be told until you get it in that stupid head of yours?!”Nothing has changed. No improvements, no news or updates, nothing. Just more abuse by the hands of one Duncan, who for example was currently dumping hot stew all over me in the dining room. Stew, that was made by the head chef, for lunch. Sometimes, his little entourage- aka Dylan, Ashley, and lesser times Spencer lately- would occasionally jump in whenever they can to get in on the ‘fun’, much to my annoyance and dismay. In fact, his son and soon-to-be new wife were both watching now from the dining table. Enjoying every bit of my silent suffering.“I had told you plenty of times already! Ashley can’t handle hot stuff! And yet, what the hell do you think you’re feeding her?! You’re having fun mocking her for her frail state, aren’t you? The state you put her in!” Duncan demanded.I glared at him, having it up to here with his immaturi

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   To Be Involved

I didn't know how many times I had thought Duncan wouldn't surprise me anymore with his nonsense, and I didn't know how many times I was proven wrong. That mindset of his? It went way past the level of 'crazy'. As much as I wanted to even push him off me, slap him silly, with how hard he was pressing his foot against my heart and lung, I found it difficult to breathe. My difficulty to breathe started to affect my overall condition, as I tried to push against him, only to feel something else instead. Something painful. I refused to let it show, though. Refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing me hurt, and continued to glare at him. Thankfully, he only scoffed at me in disgust, and finally moved his foot away from me, giving me yet another kick to the ribs."Hmph... Worthless," he huffed, taking his leave. "You won't keep that act up for long. I'll see to it that you pay for everything."With that, he left the attic, to my slight relief. One that turned into frustration. Towards

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Trouble With the Deranged Alpha

My eyes widened when I heard those words from Pularis. A response came from his peers? Now?!“W-What did they say?!” I questioned, shooting up to a sitting position.“Classified.”All hope I had was brought down when he gave that response, confusion filling me. “What do you mean ‘classified’?”“Exactly as I mean it. You are not a member of the Council in any way. Even if this investigation involves you somehow, you are not under any obligation to know of the progress. I had been nice enough to inform you of what we do and how progress went, but from here onwards, outsiders like you are not to know of what happens next. Especially not when said outsider is close to the person in question. I’m sorry.”I opened my mouth, trying to reason with him to let me know what was said, but I knew he was right. Even Alphas and Lunas are not to give away any classified information to others so easily. Whether they are connected to the people in question or not. Not only that, but given how I had hid

Days passed since my divorce with Duncan, and my new life as his slave began. And as to be expected…“You damn slut! Are you trying to hurt her more?!” … It was absolute hell, as Duncan punched me in the face and knocked me down, as well as tossed a mug of hot coffee at me. The mug broke on contact, leaving me with a few light scratches, drenched in the scalding hot beverage, in which I bit back a pained hiss for.“I only gave her what she wanted, and she said she wanted freshly brewed coffee,” I explained, holding back my rage against him.Sadly, my retort did nothing to appease him. Not that I planned on it, as he kicked me down. “You dare talk back to me?! With something as hot as that, you’d scald any dog’s taste buds right out of them!” he scolded. “Moreover, you gave her the coffee black! You should know how she takes her coffee by now, you stupid, outrageous dog!”I clenched my hands in rage at his shout, my blood boiling with each scolds and insults he dared to hit me with. Ju

"What did you say?!" I flinched at Pularis’s gasp, after I had told him what happened earlier, and my real reason in attending this meeting. “Your new circumstance aside, your reason for meeting with Dingo is very different from what you claimed earlier. And I know you were telling the truth back then.”“I know. And I’m sorry I hid my true intentions from you,” I apologized. “I was just hoping that he would be on my side.”“Because you thought his reason for not visiting you is similar to your friend’s case? From what she has told me, she didn’t know what became of you the past four years. Much less the day you were unjustly arrested.”I sighed as I recalled when I saw Caitlyn again back in the hospital, where I met Pularis. “She never was one for politics,” I mentally pointed out. “Would it matter?” Pularis countered. “Last I recall, you are not just that disgraceful Alpha’s wife; you are the pack’s Luna. Such news would have gotten out, especially if the father really did treasure

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Limited Time Left

Six months… I have six months left to live in this cruel world. Maybe not even at this point. This was revealed to me before I found out about Dylan. After I woke up, returned to the real world from that mental trip in the Spirit World and reconciled with my wolf, my body felt unbelievable weak and painful. At first, I had thought it was some kind of additional side effect to taking that trip, in which Patricia confirmed that it was anything but. That I shouldn’t be feeling any sort of pain after I reconnected with my wolf, much less visit the Spirit World. Concerned that this could be caused by something else, she informed Pularis, who contacted the hospital to send a doctor to the mansion to give me a thorough check up. At first, I was confused why he didn’t just have me sent there for the check up, when he reasoned that it was safer having the checkup done at his place, in case if Duncan or anyone on his side sees me at the hospital. A risk I also didn’t want to take. After waitin

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Aftermath of the Cruel Truth

That night, I lied on the floor of the attic. Not on a bed, or even in the guest room. Not even given a comforter of any kind to sleep through the night peacefully. Or as peacefully as possible. ‘How could this have happened?’ I wondered. Now that it became apparent and known that Dylan was not my son, so to say, both Dingo and Lorelei insisted Duncan and I get divorced. Well, Lorelei was insisting on it, as well as insisted that Duncan should marry Ashley. Pass the Luna title to a ‘more fitting werewolf’. Dingo only suggested that I break things off with Duncan, as there was no further reason for me to remain in the family. Nothing more than that. No thanks for helping out around the pack, no apologies for having to deal with all the pain his son had put me through, nothing else. Not even offer me a safe leave from the pack. Why, he didn’t even object to Duncan’s demand of making a slave out of me. If anything, he seemed disappointed when he told me to get a divorce with his son. Fo

I paled more at this revelation. “You… what?” I breathed out, unable to process the words. “You swapped my child with Ashley’s?! How?! She wasn’t even in the pack at the time!”“Not to public knowledge,” Duncan answered. “Me and Ashley? We reunited just before meeting you. And when it was found out that you were pregnant with my child, Ashley was devastated. I had told her that I had no intention of truly loving you, as Father intended it, and made up for letting my guard down that night. For letting some loose dog get the jump on me. You have no idea how happy I was to learn that she had gotten pregnant after that. And then it hit me. I have children between two different women. One who is nothing more than a bitch, and the other the love of my life. Father wants me to marry the one who has his grandchild. Yet, no matter what I say or do, he will never agree to my marriage with Ashley. So how about the next best thing? Drop your child, and keep Ashley’s. Have Father Dearest bond with

I returned to my room after the chat with Dingo. If one could call it that, that is. And I don’t just mean because of Duncan’s constant remarks. While I had a feeling he no longer had a good view of me, never did I think he believed in the rumors. Believed that I would be so cruel and heartless as to attempt to kill Ashley. I even tried to explain myself to him that I had nothing to do with the situation, but alas, in the end, even he actually thought I was capable of such deed.‘I should’ve known that this would happen,’ I thought, lying on the bed. ‘He never visited me for a reason. And it’s nothing that has to do with Alpha work. Pularis did say that many of Duncan’s Alpha work has been neglected as well.’ If Dingo did do any of his son’s work for him, at the very least, the Bluemoon Pack would still have their allies. For that to happen, amongst everything else, there was no way Dingo had lent a hand during the four years I was away. And now that he has made it clear of his thoug
