"You can't save me." Rising strength and terror shook my voice. "I am already—".

"Don't." His voice became austere and amber eyes sharp. You remain you. Whatever comes along, I am here with you.

Dark tendrils suddenly sprung forth, splintering the cursed earth and driving Sebastian and Dax back with terrible might.

Twisted laughter from Cassandra reverberated over the broken clearing, her emerald-green eyes shining with wicked satisfaction.

Her voice was icy, venomous: "Love won't save you, little Luna." You will be destroyed by it.

Dax rushed forward, claws blazing, ripping over the shadow-forged creatures obstructing his way. Though his anger boiled, his eyes never turned away from me.

Sebastian pushed through the cursed soldiers with unrelenting efficiency, his sword striking true, lethal, and exact.

"Zaia: Move! “Sebastian let out a barking, icy-blue stare fixed on the falling ruins.

I put out my hands, silver-crimson fire exploding, cutting the black tendrils just as Dax arrived.

" If you question my rule, forward now and meet me."Every pair of eyes on me, my words floated over the crescent-shaped gathering space. Although the stubborn stillness that followed was deafening, I could feel the strain in the air—old questions, unresolved concerns, split loyalties just about to burst.Talk your mind, or stand with me; not a middle ground exists here; here is your opportunity. I mumbled, ready to let the flames run over my hands. The chapter opens with Zaia formally rising as Luna, a great celebration seen by her Crescent Moon Pack as well as the allied wolves. The moment is mixed because Zaia muses about the sacrifices that got her here and pledges to rule with compassion and might.Lyric put this crown on my head and I remarked, "This crown is not a sign of authority. It reminds us of our joint responsibilities."Rising in opposition, a group of former renegade wolves disputes Zaia's authority to rule even with a display of unity. The fighting is fierce and ends
