TALON

Talon is standing in his chambers, fastening the leather straps of his armor with deliberate precision. The thought of going to Silvercrest Pack with Phoenix made his jaw tighten. For Phoenix, this journey will be a confrontation with her past, one riddled with betrayal and pain. For him, it is a challenge to ensure she comes out unscathed, physically and emotionally. As her mage, be can't let her face this alone, not with the bind they now shared.

Phoenix enters the room quietly, her golden eyes catching the light as she observes him. Her expression was calm, but he could sense the storm of emotions beneath the surface and the subtle communication of feelings between their wolf. The bond makes it impossible for her to hide her turmoil from him, just as it makes it impossible for him to deny the pull to be by her side.

“You're ready?” she asks, her voice steady but soft.

Talon nods, moving towards her. “More importantly, are you ready?”

Phoenix hesitates for a moment, then gives

PHOENIXThe news of my father’s condition has been lingering in my mind. He had been severely injured during the attack on Silvercrest, leaving the pack in disarray. Despite all that had transpired between us in the past, casting me out as a rogue and letting me fend for myself alone in the wolf, there’s still a strange pang of guilt and concern for him. I suppose, deep down, no matter how much I try to suppress it, he is still my father. With Talon here, by my side, I take a deep breath as I step into the role of Alpha of the Silvercrest pack. It is a special request from the pack that I stand in as Alpha, seeing that he is unconscious. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, I never dreamt of it not even after all they put me through. But I can’t deny my responsibility to them, to those wolves who are now defenseless against the rogues tearing through their borders. They need a leader, and I am the just the right person with the power required to protect them.Standing at the front of

As shocked as I am to see Dylan, I am particularly irritated. He is becoming a pest, first the ambush, now this. ”Dylan, what are you doing here?” I demanded, my voice sharper than intended. He approached with a casual arrogance that made my skin crawl. His hazel eyes scan me, and a smirk tugs at his lips. “Phoenix. It’s been a while.”“Not long enough,” I muttered, crossing my arms.“Oh…I heard the rumors,” he says, his tone smug. “About the attack on your pack and your Dad. I just thought you’d need some help, especially now.” “Cut to the chase, Dylan. Why are you here?”He sighs dramatically as if my impatience amuses him. “I came to see for myself. To see you and to say I’m sorry.”I blink, caught off guard. “Sorry?”“I’m sorry for what I did, for everything that transpired between us. For not trusting you. For letting you be cast out like that. I was wrong Phoenix, and I want to make it right. Especially now that Silvercrest needs assistance, we could continue from where we stop

PHOENIXI sat quietly beside my father's bed, my fingers brushing gently against the cool surface of his hand. The steady beep of the heart monitor is the only sound that fills the otherwise quiet room. It had been days since she assumed my place as Alpha of Silvercrest, and every day,she would come to my father, a man who had once ruled with unwavering strength. Now, though, he is lying in a vulnerable state and unable to guide his pack.As I sat, I allowed my thoughts to wander. My heart aches for my father. There had been so many things I had wanted to say to him, but the situation was never right. I had so many questions and I still haven't gotten a chance. The weight of my new responsibility weighs heavily on my shoulders. I’m not sure how long I could carry the mantle of leadership. My father’s absence left a void, and although the pack had accepted me, I still feel like a stranger in some ways. The expectations placed on me are overwhelming, but I know I have to rise to the occ

Phoenix sits by her father’s bedside, her heart racing with anticipation. For days, I’ve prayed and hoped that he would wake up, that he would return to her side and be the guiding force he had always been. The uncertainty that has plagued me since his injury weighs heavily on me, but now, finally, the wait is over. Roland, the Alpha of Silvercrest, my father, has regained consciousness. She looks at his face, pale and bruised from the attack, but there’s a glimmer of recognition in his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile, relief flooding my chest. It feels as though the burden I had carried for so long has been lifted, even if only a little.“Father,” I whisper, my voice thick with emotion. “You’re awake. I knew you could do it.”His eyes flutter as he struggles to sit up, his movements slow and pained. He winced but managed a small, tired smile. “Phoenix…” His voice is raspy and weak, but the familiarity of hearing it fills me with warmth. “My daughter. I…I’m so sorry.”The words, thoug

TALONThe journey back to Moonstone with Phoenix is quieter than usual. Our little time at Silvercrest has taken its toll on both of us, emotionally and physically, but I feel a sense of relief as we approach the familiar borders of our territory. Moonstone has always been my anchor, the place where I find strength to lead and protect. Yet, as we cross into our lands, a subtle unease settles in my chest. Phoenix notices too. She has grown attuned to the dynamics of the pack since bonding with me and our mating. Her wolf power amplifies her instincts, and though she says nothing, the way her hand lingers on my arm speaks volumes. I decided to set the feeling aside for now and focus on the tasks at hand.Once home, the days slip into a routine of packed activities. I found a way to push back the unsettling feeling and Phoenix and I resumed our leadership roles, attending pack meetings, inspecting patrols, and preparing for our annual pack event, a celebration that is usually grand, its

TALON The battlefield is quiet now, the silence breaking only by the pained groans of the injured and the occasional crackle of a dying fire. The rogues lay scattered, their lifeless forms a grim reminder of the chaos we had just endured. Phoenix standing by me, her golden fur streak with blood and dirt, her eyes blazing with both exhaustion and determination. She is a sight to behold, my Luna, my mate, my equal in every sense. As I join her to shift, the adrenaline still courses through my veins, a single thought consuming me. “How had they gotten in?” I turn to Phoenix, my hands balling into a fist at my sides. “This does not make any sense,” I growl, pacing back and forth. “The Moonstone Veil is impenetrable. Only our pack members have access across the border. How did they manage to come almost halfway through?” “What if…what if someone let them in?” She says carefully, her voice low. Her words hit me like a punch in my gut. Betrayal within my pack? The idea makes my blood

PHOENIXThe tension in the Moonstone pack is a living, breathing thing. It’s lingering in the air, thick and oppressive, fueling whispers in the corridors and hesitant glances between pack members. Talon is carrying the weight of it all on his shoulders, his face a mask of composure, but I can feel the strain beneath his calm demeanor. The opposition party has managed to fracture the pack’s trust, and it is eating him up. As Luna and his mate, I share his burden, but I can not stand by and watch this happen and threaten his composure as Alpha. I need to act very fast.Late at night, I find myself in Mira’s chamber, seeking her guidance. She’s my friend and someone I could always talk to regardless of her title as the Gemma. Mira has sharp eyes and is always a source of wisdom. She listens patiently as I pour out my concerns about the pack’s growing unrest which she’s aware of and how it is taking a Toll on Talon, even though he doesn’t show it to the pack.“Mira, how can they doubt hi

My voice is steady but laced with determination. “There’s a group of rogues I encountered before, they helped Talon and I during an ambush. I believe they can help us.” Mira tilts her head slightly, her expression quite unreadable. “How can they help us?” “They can lead us to the rogues who keep breaching our borders. They know their kind better than we do,” I explain. “If we can gain access to them, we might finally put an end to rogues attack on our pack.” Mira leans back, her fingers tapping lightly on the armrest of her chair. “You do understand the task you are taking right? Rogues, even those who appear honorable are unpredictable. This could backfire.” “I know,” I say firmly, meeting her gaze. “But I’m willing to take that risk. For Talon, for the pack, for all of us. I need to do this and I will love you to join me.” After a long pause, Mira nods. “Very well. I’ll come with you, Phoenix. PHOENIXI stood hand in hand with Talon, our fingers intertwined as we watch our daughter, Daciana, race across the howling ground, her laughter ringing through the crisp morning air. The sun bathing the clearing in golden light, illuminating the pack members sparring nearby. Strength and unity coursing through the pack, a testament to all we have fought to restore.A warm breeze rustles the trees as Mira and Hosea approach, their expressions filled with mischief. “You two went ahead and recreated yourselves.” Mira teased, nudging me with a grin. I chuckle, my golden eyes shining with warmth and satisfaction. “She certainly has her father’s stubbornness.” “And her mother’s fire,” Talon adds, squeezing hand. Hosea folds her arms, watching the pup play. “I Keep thinking back to how it all began to unfold. How close we came to losing everything. Although, I always knew deep down that as long as the bond stays, restoration was sure.” I couldn’t help but exhale as memories came rushi

Your power as the golden wolf can’t challenge the one I’ve acquired. Seeing that you were too stubborn to be my mate, I had to step up and be more. You are a fool, Phoenix.”Talon stepped beside me, my power radiating from within. “She is not alone.” He said.Dylan’s smile faltered. My shoulders squared. “Let’s finish this, Alpha Talon,” I say looking at Talon with renewed hope and strength. My pulse thundered as I felt his rage. Let the battle begin. My heart pounded as Talon and I raced toward Dylan, the weight of our purpose pressing upon me like never before. I turned to Phoenix, expecting to see the confusion on her face but she looked calm instead. She knows.“Phoenix?” I ask, my voice steady but edged with uncertainty. She looked at me, her golden eyes shining under the ethereal glow of the sacred region. “I knew I was different Talon. Everyone including Hosea said so but what I didn’t know is to extent to which I must wield this power…until now.”The massive golden wolf before us, the divine being tilts its head, watching me closely. Then, it spoke again. “You have come to restore what is lost. To reclaim what has been tainted. Moonston’s veil was once an unbreakable force, a shield that protected the territory and your pack. But an evil force has stepped into its heart, and it weakened it from within.”Cain.Dylan.I clench my fists. The weight of responsibility pressed down on my chest as I and Talon stood before the remnants of Silvercrest. The decision has been made, we have to leave. There is no other way to save what is left of our world. The surviving pack members gather around, their eyes full of worry and grief. Many of them are injured, some barely able to stand. Among them are my stepmother and Lucia, they’ve been through so much these past few days.I turn to her, gently squeezing her hand. “I swear to you, we will come back. This will always be my home.”Lucia who looks exhausted from catering from the injured pack, nod weakly. “We will be here waiting.”Talon surveyed the crowd. “You will be safe here. We are taking you to a place where you will be protected against any more of Dylan’s revengeful attacks.”A few wolves exchange glances, uncertain but trusting this Alpha. We will take them to the Ironclaw pack territory, we had built a relationship with at this point, they have become family. PHOENIXI feel weightless as if I am drifting between reality and something far beyond my understanding. I am neither awake nor asleep, I simply exist in a vast, endless void. Then, a voice echoed through the emptiness. “You have come far, but your journey is not yet over.” I turned, searching for the source of the voice but all I see is swirling golden mist. It looks familiar, just like the first time I was cast out of Silvercrest. That night, when I had first heard the whispers that led me to the north region of Shadowpine. That night when my life took a rapid turn. My pulse immediately quickened as the mist condensed, forming into a shape, a towering, ethereal figure with eyes that glow like molten gold. The presence radiating power, ancient and overwhelming, but strangely soothing at the same time. I swallowed, forcing myself to speak. “Who are you?” The being tilts its head, amusement flickering in its luminous gaze. “The same one who guided you once. The one who marked you

Her fury burn out, nearly uncontrollable, as I and Talon before Cain, who now has control over moonstone territory. The pack house is silent, an eerie kind of silence that signifies fear and oppression. I clench my fists, my nails digging into my palms as I watch the man who has once stood beside Talon as Beta, stand against him.Everything in me screams to lunge, to rip Cain apart for his betrayal, for his smug expression, for the way he has turned our people into hostages. But I can't, not with Mira and Hosea being held hostage too. My heart pounds in my chest as Cain turns his back on Talon, issuing orders to these strange wolves. He has locked us out, barring us from the very home we have fought so hard to protect. I can feel Talon’s pain. His fists are already clenched so tightly that his knuckles turn white, his body taut with withheld rage. But what is most painful is the heartbreak I see

TALONI stepped through the broken threshold of the Moonstone packhouse, at this point every nerve in me was on edge. Phoenix is standing at my side, her golden eyes scanning the eerie silence of what is supposed to be our home. Behind us, Hosea, Mira, and the enforcers follow, their steps cautious, their senses alert. The territory feels hollow the moment we cross into it. The absence of the veil, the mystical barrier that has once kept the pack hidden and protected is unsettling. It is as if the very soul of Moonstone has been stripped away, leaving us exposed and vulnerable. “Something is wrong,” Phoenix whispers, gripping my forearm. I nodded, my jaw tightening as we entered the main hall. The air is thick with an unnatural stillness. No sounds of wolves moving through the corridors, no scent of heartfires burning. It’s all just silence here. Then, at the center of the house, standing as if he has been waiting, is Cain. My breath left me in a slow, controlled exhale. Cain sto
