"Aba," she mumbles, protesting her worries to her grandsire. "They can't do this!"
She may stand a chance when it comes to combat for her aba Mandel has discreetly spent his free time training and honing her. What fears them is the fact that she can't shift and Alianah is extremely good in aerial fights.
"I've been observing the six princesses and I can say that Princess Alianah possesses wit, agility, and great power among all others. She is the best fit for my prince Hasham.
Amira can't fathom the thought of it, hence she speaks, "My apology for interrupting, but you are all aware that Prince Hasham and I share a special feeling. You can't just decide who is best for whom. We—"
"Princess Amira," Alpha Rowal cuts her words. "You have heard my words well, I guess. We need to breed as many strong dragons as we can to guarantee victory and I meant two powerful dragons from the sovereigns to lead. Are you in any way stronger than princess Alianah, princess Amira?"
The alpha of the red dragons' question echoes in her head. She can't help but observe that everyone's eyes are at her, waiting for her to respond. She glares at her sisters who are throwing back smirks. All the words they have thrown to her suddenly circle in her head.
Laughing, "Is that all you can do?"
"You just turned 18, why can't you shift? You're a big disgrace to the royal gold dragons!"
"Or maybe...she doesn't have royal blood in the first place," mocks the laughing voice.
"You can't be at far with me, Amira! Stop with your stupid ambition!"
"You're weak!"
"You're a trash!"
"You're a disgrace!"
"Loser!!"
"Princess Amira!" her father snaps causing her senses to come back.
"Let me repeat myself, are you in any way stronger than princess Alianah?" Alpha Rowal asks once again.
Hasham can't help but grit his teeth in anger. They have long been asking the alphas for approval, but they can't just give it. And now they are deciding without even discussing it with the two of them. Unable to hold his temper, he closes his fists and stands, "I won't accept any other draconian lady in my life. Amira is the only one I want to be tied with, no one else!"
"We're not asking your opinion." Rowal grumbles, his aura sends an intimidating force among all other dragons, then he speaks to his son through the mind link. "You do not dare go against me. You know very well what I am capable of doing." His father's threat sends chills to his body. He knows him as a heartless dragon who doesn't mind taking the life out of anyone who disobeys him. His mother has always been the victim of his atrocity.
Seeing the fear in his son's eyes, he shifts his gaze at Amira. His tone changes from hard to delicate. "Now princess Amira, do you have what it takes to defeat princess Alianah in a battle?"
She clenches her fists at the question of King Rowal. Before answering, she glances at her beloved Hasham who's hiding his face on his chest. He cannot fathom the idea of giving her up, but he's not the one to mess with his father.
Amira then glares back at her siblings who are throwing mocking stares at her, except for the second youngest princess, princess Vanessa who cheers her up.
Her aba Mandel speaks from behind, "You're not ready yet for a fight. We'll find another way, okay?"
"There's no other way, aba!" she answers. Adamant, she proceeds to the center and vigorously declares, "I, princess Amira, the youngest of the royal draconian, challenge princess Alianah for a fight to determine the strongest fit for prince Hasham's heart."
Princess Alianah, a tall, fine and exquisite draconian of minimal golden scales, stands from her seat and declares with so much pride, "I, princess Alianah the third born of the royal draconian, accept the challenge of princess Amira for a duel to determine the strongest and most deserving for prince Hasham." She doesn't keep her mocking glares to her sibling as she speaks.
"Well then, with your alpha's approval, I want to arrange the fight as soon as possible." Pleased, Rowal glares at alpha and compels him to make a decision.
Douman, the sovereign amongst them, firmly clasp his sceptre and stands to give his words. "The princesses have been trained enough, it's about time that we test and see how strong they have become. We shall witness their fight tomorrow after the sun shines in the east."

The wind blows heavily causing the hem of Amira's loose blue pants to dance around her legs. The huge and healthy trees surrounding the draconian, shower them with leaves as they anticipate the start of the fight.
"We have gathered here today to test the skills and strength of princess Amira and princess Alianah which they have honed and acquired in their years of training and discipline under the guidance of the strongest draconian mentors. The princess who will show exceptional strength and can knock down the other will win prince Hasham."
"Why do I have to fight when in the first place, I am yours and you are mine?" Amira questions.
"You don't have to do this, my precious. We'll find a different way, end it while you still can," Hasham answers through the mind link.
"It's too late, Hasham. But I'll do everything I can to win this challenge. I'll do everything to win you no matter what."
"Amira...I can't lose you."
"So am I, Hasham. I love you and I'll have no regrets doing everything I can to win you, even if it takes the life I have."
"Don't say that, Amira. We'll never lose each other. Promise me."
Their mind talks are cut when the head of class A draconian soldier speaks, his biceps are bursting from his stripped white-gold, soldier attire.
"The capacity of dragons to knock down their enemy is not only measured through aerial wins. One must be able to fight on land to make sure that every living foe is eliminated. There are hidden gears in different sides of the wilderness, fight a class B draconian guarding the gear to claim one. Collect as many as you can before heading to the battleground so you have something to utilize on the actual fight. You have ten minutes to venture into the wilderness and locate the battle area. On my mark, 3..."
Amira's heart starts to pump faster and louder as she hears the start of the countdown while princess Alianah smirks and prepares herself for a run. She knows she is of big advantage and her sister won't stand a chance, but then Amira is determined to empress every draconian watching.
"2,"
"I will win you, Hasham. I promise," she swears.
"1...Ire!"
The battle for love is set, blood ties are of no value when it comes to this. The weak has no place in their realm. The deal is to either win or to die.
The princesses quickly head to the wilderness to collect the gears visible to their eyes. Alianah advances with one sword and headgear while Amira has only a shield on her hand.Upon spotting a sword, Amira quickly jumps up the tree to get it, but her thigh is hit by a male draconian's foot, causing her to fall harshly on the ground."Is that all you can do?" the class B draconian mocks as he stands by the twig of the tree."Of course not," she responds and shakes the robust tree with her strong thrust, causing the threat to lose his balance and fall on the ground. But he's quick to prepare for a falling position, hence it doesn't twitch him that much.Regardless, Amira takes advantage of her frail atta
"Amira, knock her! Now!" Hearing Hasham's word in her head, she quickly eyes her father who is swaying the flag in the air. Her chance is over, Alianah can now transform to her dragon form. She panics as she diverts her gaze back to her sister, she has already begun transforming into the dragon she is. With so much energy and friction, Amira fails to attack any longer. Everyone gawks at the huge gold dragon in front of them. She's by far one of the fascinating female dragons they have ever seen. Her scales are illuminated by the sun's rays and her roar causes everyone to hold tightly in their seats. Her pointed spikes, huge body, and long tail are but a threat to the vulnerable and unable to shift princess. Amira pulls back, knowing that she can't defeat a dragon as huge as her sister. Someone from the crowd growls and demands, "What are you waiting for, princess Amira? Show us your dragon form!" She just stands there, stiff and still. She does everything she can to unleash the dr
"Forgive me for disturbing your rest, princess Amira, your father has called you for dinner!" A lady of fine-tuning, wearing a nature cotton clothe that stretches to her ankle, appears from Amira’s door. She lifts her upper body and the attendant dashes to assist her. "Thank you, Diana," Amira utters. Diana curls her fist and places it on her chest lowering her head in acquiescence. "Is everyone already in the hall?" she asks. "Everyone is, princess, except you and princess Alianah." "She's not awake yet, is she?" "Not yet, princess." She releases a deep sigh and ponders on what she has done to her sister. Guilt is squeezing her heart yet the damage has already been done and she can only wish for her sister to get better soon. Sigh. She trots to the wardrobe to check for a dress. She changes into her blue Celtic gown with broad bordure and long chiffon sleeves. Diana ironed the back of her dress a
Chaos. Destruction. Havoc. The smells and sight are evident as people scream and cry their fears. The houses are burning and spreading faster. The shadows of the dark, monstrous flying beasts burning the humans alive and the scared faces of children running for their lives huddles the woman's sight. She's just standing there, shaking and trembling.A guy snatches her hand and drags her away. He is tall with a symmetrical body, but his figure is obscured by the darkness of the night. She can't recognize him yet she let him pull her into running, until a huge, dark, monstrous dragon lands in front of them. He hides her behind him but he is easily wiped out by the long, reptilian tail of the frightening dragon."Give me the heart of magic," it orders. Its voice is rough, deep, and dominating. "Give me!"Amira catches her breath as she wakes from her bad dream. She is panting and trembling with every flash of the monster she saw in her dream. She manages to pull herself up and figures that
The heat is infiltrating the skin of the woman lying unconscious by the shore. The rays of the morning sun are causing the few scales on her exposed lower arm to glitter. Birds continue to chirp and disturb the sleepy state of the lady, whereas the sea behaves calmly. A group of curious kids spots her from a distance and scampers to check if she's still alive. They exhange words of supposition and hunts over the matter until their chatter causes to awaken Amira. With a heavy head, she sits on her butt and brushes the traces of sleepiness away. As she opens her eyes, she is shocked to wake at a completely new world. The mountains high and low she used to adore in every rim of their realm are gone, at least from the point where she is at. The smell, the atmosphere, and the vibe, all are distinct from what she has used to. Structures line up a distance from the grand oceanfrontShe stands on her feet and examines the place foreign to her sight. "So, this is the mortal world," she mumbles
She stands stiff as the stranger approaches closer and hands her the hair clasp. His saucy smell taunts her nostrils. She can't help but notice his pointed nose that perfectly complements his thin, reddish lips. "I believe this is yours," attests the stranger. His sterling grey eyes meet her pure hazel eyes. He too stops to adore the lovely face of the lady in front of him. "Ahm, y-yes!" Amira says and reaches for her belonging, but the guy hides them behind his back. "Aisst. May I know your name first, miss beautiful?" With hopeful eyes, he flashes a long smile. "Amira, I am Amira." She gently lowers her head and touches her chest as she introduces herself. "Amira. Hmm, it suits a princess-like lady like you. I am Kian by the way. He grabs her hand for a kiss but she quickly stifles her hand making him conclude she isn't com
The cold brush of the wind welcomes them as they reach the mountainous area of the city of Lavandel. Amira watches the kids as they cup some water from the stream before slaughtering on the grassy ground. The feels of the mountains bring her back to her home in Hauraya. She closes her eyes to feel the movement of the trees and the soft touches of the wind on her face. Kian can't help but steal glances at her. "What are the royal guards doing in the city? Are they with a member of the royal family?" Miguel's question brings Amira and Kian's attention to him. The mere mention of 'royal' piques Amira's interest. To her mind, 'so there's also royalty in this realm.' She knows a little about humans, but unlike what she's seeing from them, she hears differently from her father. Her known father, Douman, used to tell her that humans are useless being and they are created to serve and make dragons more powerful. Her aba Mandel says the oppos
While the kids are trying to lighten the mood, heavy thuds muffle in Amira's ear. She shifts in all directions to track the source. From the hasty movements of feet, she estimates they are being surrounded. She can't recognize if the group are threats for, judging by the aura, they aren't draconian. "There's a bunch of strangers coming our way," she announces. "Ha?" whimpers the kids. Amira looks at Kian who becomes alarmed all of a sudden. He gawks from a distance and spots a group of armed men swiftly maneuvering in their direction. "We need to get away here," he says. But before they can go any farther they've been stopped by a gang of men and women in black suits. "Oh, men! What have we done?" Miguel cries. "Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen. We believe that's a path you're blocking! Let us get away first before you rumble." Br
"That Argon... I don't like him." Vanessa blurts out with a whimper. "What's his right to command all draconian to meet him? I wish Father will put him in the right place!" Vanessa continues, as she walks with Amira along the hall. They're to meet the most sovereign, Douman, in his chamber.Argon and Mandel have had a serious talk. To what it was all about, Amira has no idea. She doesn't want to meddle in their business, but her gut is sending her a warning. She fears what the dragons are going to do next. All she can hope for is for her kind to settle on the power they haveShe hasn't spoken to Argon, too. She doesn't want to speak to him but it's impossible now that they're in one kingdom. Besides, he has gotten hold of the Heart of Magic. Amira has to find ways to get it off of him. She's concerned he might use it for evil, just like what he did back when her mother was still alive. After knowing about the dreadful past from the mortal world, there's only one thing she wants to do:
"Douman, that once was a little brother of mine. Has he accepted you as his own? He didn't introduce me to you, did he?"Amira just stares at Argon; her head is partly tilted. Her mind is full of questions. The words are battling to rush out of her mouth, but they can't simply outrun one another. And so, she's left with her mouth ajar."I know you have a lot to ask. Come with me and I shall tell you everything." Argon stretches his hand to Amira but she just stares at it. Soon after, Argon senses something's gushing toward his hand. He effortlessly swings his palm and the object diverts back to the source like a rushing fireball.Within a second, they heard a rough cry, "Uh!" It's Bruce. The stone he throws bounces on him and hits the side of his stomach. Now blood is spurting extensively from it."Bruce!" Missy, Liza, and Miguel cry. They're in shock at what happened. They reach out to their friend instantly. Even with their trembling hands, they try to calm their friend and put pre
"Trifecta!"Under the pale face of the midnight moon, Amira's voice echoes all over."Trifecta! I beg you to help me! Show yourself!"The cold breeze blows her cries away. Yet again she is unable to sense a response from the creature she's summoning. The woods have been silent toward her all day. Desperate to connect with the fairy who sent her to the mortal world, her feet bring her to where she has first seen this foreign land—the seaside in the city of Lavandel. However, this, too, plays deaf at her cries."There must be another way back and I must figure it out!"Amid her desperate attempt to think of ways, she suddenly halts, taken aback by the huge shadowy figure that hovers over her. Her mouth gapes open as she watches the creature fly passed her. The night is maybe dark but her eyes miss not identifying it. It's a dragon quite huge and terrorizing, resembling the one showing up in her dreams. As she takes a minute to process what it means, squeals and screams from here and
Roasted and burnt. The smell mixes with the air and flies across the atmosphere. Amira's nose titters as the pungent smell enters through her nostrils. Her senses are awakened and before even realizing it, she finds herself standing in front of a great devastation she wouldn’t want to see. Her heart sinks seeing a town down in ashes. Roasted men scatter everywhere. Smoke evaporates from their blacked bodies. The horrifying tragedy leaves not even a single life around. Amira's heart slashes in two at the sight of a poor woman with a newborn baby on her arm. Behind the lady were three more kids, all burnt out and lifeless. She can only imagine their struggle and how they ended up that way. ‘Who could have done this?’ she asks herself. She’s unable to grasp how one can be so heartless. ‘Was it… Argon? How can he do this! Does he even have a heart?' Though in her veins, run the blood and soul of a dragon, the very same creature that created the horrible sight in front of her, she can't
A swirling web of soft tissues goes on and off until it blossoms and pushes out Amira from where she had her entrance into the Land of Infinite Desire. The curse on her mouth is gone, cleansed by the healing power of Elena's aqua. The marks of failure and defeat forms a fine line on her face. She is down in dumps having neither Hasham to run to nor the Heart of Magic to be victorious of. She is down in flames. No matter how much she wants to believe there is still hope, her emotion just won't cooperate. Meandering around, her setting down foot halts as she spots a man almost lifeless on the ground. Having no one but her in the forested heart of Vormundham, she instinctively hastens their four-meter distance. She slouches on the loose soil as she draws near him, leveling her knees with his body so she can attend to him. When she turns his head to face her, her eyes widen and her mouth drops open. She goes pale all of a sudden as if her soul absconds from her earthly body. Split lip, b
Slack sitting like a frog by the seashore, Bruce throws on a pebble that slashes over the shallow to deep jewel-blue sea. The pebble plops as it thwarts with the rippling waves, snatching the boy’s thoughts again. “There’s really something that I should be remembering but I can’t remember. It’s stuck in my head and I can’t pull it through. Grr!” grumbles the kid. “I feel you bro! But what could that memory be?” Miguel rests his elbow on Bruce’s shoulder as he puts on a thinking face. Since early morning when they rise from sleep, they’ve been trying to pull out a memory from their head but their mind seems to be playing Whac-a-Mole with them. At one point, they will spot it on but quickly it disappears. “Tss. You just probably forgot to wash your assess after defecating!” Missy bubbles while randomly picking seashells along the coastline. The two boys’ ears wiggle. They are just a few meters apart from Missy and it’s hard not to miss what she just said. When she finally realizes tha
Amira's eyes narrow, skeptical about the man who's wearing a lopsided grin across his face. He is wielding a ball of lightning from the Heart of Magic; his eyes are glued on it, glistening with great desire. "Finally, I have you back in my hands!" Amira doesn't feel good about it and in her hoarse shaky voice she asks, "What are you planning to d-" Her words are cut short when the ball of lightning hits the side of her, tearing across the grassy ground she's standing up seconds ago. She jerks back at the impact and stumbles on the ground. She glares at Kian with scrutinizing eyes, brows snap together. She can hardly believe what he just did. "Did you just try to kill me?" Kian throws him a once-over look. "Hmm... If that's what you think it is." There is no single sign of regret on his face and it triggers Amira's emotion. "Give me back the Heart of Magic!" she demands as she stands on her feet, but Kian just turns his back like he has not heard her say anything. Lifting the Gem up
The cold breeze of fresh nature blows past Amira and slips through the hem of her dirty-red knee-length dress. The soft touch of passing wind on her skin snatches her out of her reminiscence. Her heart is broken, shattered in pieces after knowing her lover is already tied with another woman. She may have gotten the Heart of Magic but completing her mission will mean not much to her now that she can't go back to be with Hasham.A bitter-sweet smile crosses her face. She holds her head up, fighting back tears from falling. Then she feels someone's hand on her shoulder. "Your mission is almost over. What's the next thing you'll do now?" She throws him a sly smile. Though her motivation has run dry, she is still willing to finish what she has started. Perhaps after this mission, she will live a life in the mortal world until her heart recovers from the pain and until she becomes ready to face her kind."I am going to leave the Heart of Magic to where it originally belongs; to where it wi
Just as the door flings open, what seems like a strong gravitational force pulls Amira back into where the Seraph of the Heart of Magic is. Her eyes scan the place, processing the changes in her surroundings. "Alianah..." she mutters to herself and gawks at the Seraph for answer. "My sister, s–she is—" Amira cuts her words when her chest throbs erratically; her hands feel for the growing pain that's ripping the inside of her. Her chest rises and her breathes fall. Just as she's trying to contain the abnormalities in her body, the band on the Seraph's wrist lights up and gradually melts into thin air, snatching Amira's attention. The Seraph's skin tingles and her eyes sparkles. The wristlet signifying the curse and nullifying her power is gone and it only means one thing. "The hex is broken. You made it, Amira! You have broken the hex!" Happiness should be swirling around her face by now but she can't take it in her heart to celebrate thinking that it took two lives for her to su
