‘Do you want to live together?’

‘What?’ Ford exclaims, shooting up and looking at Dallas with wide-blown pupils.

Dallas buries his face in his hands. ‘Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked it. Forget what I said, please.’

Ford grabs Dallas’s wrists and pulls them off his face. ‘Alpha, I won’t forget what you said.’

The elder’s eyes are looking so intensely sad that it almost breaks Ford’s heart.

‘Is that what you really want? Move in together at my place or maybe yours?’

Dallas shakes his head. ‘Forget I said it. It’s too early for you, I get it. It’s such a big step and I shouldn’t have mentioned it so casually.’

Contrary to what Dallas expects, Ford starts to smile as he holds both of Dallas’s hands in his own. ‘Alpha, I would love to.’

Dallas’s jaw drops. ‘You do? You want to start living together?’

Ford nods excessively, his eyes suddenly a little glossy. ‘Yes, of course. What did you think? That I wouldn’t want to live together wi
