The Value of a promise

Maxwell looked curiously at Anna, while all the men stopped and stared at her without fear.

“I didn't hear your apology to my husband.”

Maxwell's face immediately turned red and he had a feeling that something bad was going to come out of this confrontation.

“Let them go. I don't need that. Let's forget it...” He said between his teeth, obviously annoyed, but Anna seemed possessed by a bad spirit.

“We're waiting.” Anna said to the men, ignoring Maxwell's plea because she wouldn't let them humiliate her husband again. She knew that if she allowed them to get away with everything, it would happen again.

“Excuse us, sir.” The other two spoke at the same time, debauched, and turned to walk away from her, but the man who had been brash and arrogant remained silent.
